If nothing else, we can grow in our generosity and ability to love as we get older. I hope to do so and I hope you do as well.

Dr. Russ has promoted my sleep health tremendously. It would be crazy for someone to advise you not to focus on your sleep health. Who sleeps or hopes to for 1/3 of their entire life? Get these things in your life: good shoes, a good mattress, good people in your life, and stretching. I was also a 5k guy. Enjoy where you are at in life. I also highly recommend vitamin D for our northern friends that don’t get out in the winter. It’s helped my mood phenomenally.

This is one of your best videos yet imo. I learned so much and as someone who's husband is prescribed antibiotics 5 times a year, I need him to see this as well. I have rarely been sick in my life, and at the 55 year mark I find myself sick twice a year these last 3 years. This video has really helped me see that I need to get on track with supplements so thank you so much!

Always appreciate how giving you are about your expertise and your own personal experience. Turning 40 this year and a lot of these topics were on my mind as I'm making some fundamental changes in my lifestyle. Thanks as always!

Thank you so much! And I will share that I think the 40's are great...."old enough to know better, young enough to do something about it". Enjoy your days!

I just had this video randomly recommended to me, and though I am still fairly young I found a lot of what you spoke of to be applicable to me regardless. You speak beautifully and your presence seems to carry with it a palpable warmth, as well as a sense of real, genuine, enduring compassion. I’m not sure if this would deviate from the focus of your channel or if it would even be of interest to you, but I think it would be great if you ever made other videos pertaining to the cultivation of one’s emotional well-being based on your own lived experiences- I think that would be incredibly interesting and likely to resonate deeply with a certain audience as well.

Yes, ageing is hard. I'm I'm my early 60s now, and I feel my self declining to what I used to be, but saying that my parents never seen old age they were 46, and 52 when they passed.

Thank you for sharing. Do you feel like having your parents pass away so young makes you appreciate your life more?

@DrDavidRussPDX No, not really. I was a teenager when I lost them. It only made me scared of death, but as I have gotten older, I realise how much life they missed.

Lovely video! I will be thinking about how I want to grow vs the inevitable diminishing of some areas. I have remarkable DNA on my side; one grandfather lived an active, engaging life until 103, while my 80 year old mother still teaches tai chi. I watched your video as I completed my watercolor class homework and realized I need to do more to get my husband more active with his health. Any suggestions for articles or videos (I'll be starting with yours!) for somewhat resistant people? I'm optimistic that your video will be well received ~ Thank you!

You might want to share this one with him, if he's receptive: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f9t4o89ol6qbfp8.html it's a talky video, and this one might help him feel a bit more mobile and stable, it's an exercise video : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNySqq-o0ZjZgIE.html However, if someone is resistant, it's probably not a lack of information that's keeping them from acting. We swim in a sea of information, but often fail to connect to the value and importance of the effort, and we forget that it matters that we feel good, and that we have some power over our condition. I recommend that you keep up with your self-care, and consistently and warmly invite him to join you. I sincerely wish for healthy, active years for you and for your husband. Thank you so much for your comment and question, and for watching the video. I so appreciate it!
