Today, Muscadine Bloodline (Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster) stopped by the channel to talk about what it's really like to be an independent artist in country music. These guys are killing the game -- and doing it their own way, and it was so cool to hear their perspectives on record labels, independent mindsets, the Texas scene, Nashville politics, TikTok, and so much more. I offered up MY advice that I would give independent artists, and they ran it through their own filter to say whether my thoughts are true or false!
Check out Muscadine Bloodline: muscadinebloodl...

Love advice #2 on posting videos of yourself singing. I wholeheartedly agree. When I got into Colter Wall, I couldn’t “fully” get into him until I watched him on KZfaq with his brewery sessions. I NEEDED to see the man, see where this voice came from, how he acted during his songs. You have to get the full effect.

Thanks, Grady, Gary, and Charlie! I've been wanting to hear from somebody like these guys or Cody Jinks, etc. about some tips on how to do this independent route. I thought Nashville held some promise for a while, but lately I've really been looking at a lot of independent artists, and I'm pretty sure that's the route for me, and this video provided some great insight on what that looks like. Thanks!

In regards to the "don't worry about press/coverage", they are spot on. It's no different than a restaurant - people will go no matter the wait, no matter the environment, no matter the service, if the food is great. People will keep listening to Muscadine Bloodline and find new artists because their music is great.
