imma narrow my stance out a lil of coz of lack of adduction mobility. just reviewd a clip from my 5 rep pr today and my back is literally round, was scared at first but thank god i found ur video before i snap my shit up

Demonstration of the crucial part, positioning of the hips in relation to the bar and the tip to achieve the "wedge" effect is awesome. Thank you. However, I feel as though it is incomplete. Possibly, using lighter weights, as it is a demonstration, complete the movement through to the standing position, showing the view from both camera angles. This would, help the novice, such as myself, visualize properly the whole movement, completing the rep. At the end of the day, brilliant advice, and very much apprectated.

Are you setting up with shins against the bar or with some space?

Preferably with shins vertical in the sumo deadlift however this is not my preferred style of deadlidt so I struggle to get into thay position

@@MelbourneStrengthCulture there's no power in your form. Higher hip deadlifters deadlift a ton with higher hips. I think it's just a mobility issue for people.

It’s important to be specific with the goal of the Sumo deadlift. Getting your hips closer to the bar is a good goal if this is your competition pull. If your goal is training your posterior chain through a full range of motion, then this method is less effective and hips further back is superior since this more effectively trains the back and hinge pattern.

The only problem is that your shin is not perpendicular enough to the bar by sitting back too low.

yup, that's why he never pulled to demonstrate lol. His back was still rounded slightly. He needed to tighten his hamstrings/glutes and sit down more.
