Walking in the Light
1 John 1:5-10:
5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But pif we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 sIf we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 uIf we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

If you still sin, you are still walking in darkness. The good news is a believer is cleansed of all sin. But understanding what that means is being converted, into the knowledge of the truth.

Every time a past sin comes to mind I instantly repent and ask God for forgiveness. I think we never forget our sins because we can't. We must always be reminded of our flesh so that we always seek God for redemption and rebirth.

Good sermon as always. Those who revel in their sins are not experiencing true joy in this life. They may have some amount of fleeting happiness from time to time but the majority report from those whose "god" is their own flesh is that they are miserable and unfulfilled human beings (Ps.73:1-17) They might have their best life now but when you consider the fact that life is but a vapor and how insignificant the temporary things of this life really are, you should have pity on them. For Christians, not only will there be eternal life and salvation from judgment, but even now there are hints at the joy we have as a result of being united to Christ. Let us be thankful for this gift and readily share it with the dying world.

David's adulterous murderous affair and marriage DIDNT end well. I doubt Bathsheba KNEW David had Uriah killed. What a marriage.

I have family who's ungodly relationship became a wedge between my wife and I in our marriage. We've been separated almost 4 years and may never save our marriage. She is dying of Cancer and may only have a short time left. Heart breaking situation. God wasn't bragging about me like He did Job but I feel like Job. Rear ended whiplash and a brain injury I lost my wife's love, my health and my 32+ year career. Life crushing stuff.

He along with people like RC Sproul, Sam Storms, GK Beale, NT Wright, Kim Riddlebarger, and a few others are a rare breed of preachers who really have the God-given ability to open up the meaning of God's Word and teach it with clarity, correctness, and profundity while effectively communicating and clearly explaining the context, meaning and application of whatever passage it is they're looking at. Praise be to God and Lord Jesus Christ!

This was right on time for me this morning! So freeing❤ I can be very hard on myself even KNOWING that Jesus has paid it all🙌🏽 But the phrase “Not characterized by sin” opened my eyes again! My sin grieves God so that’s why it grieves me. Thank You Holy Spirit🙌🏽 Without the shedding of Blood there is NO remission of sin. I need to hear the gospel EVERYDAY! LOOK at the CROSS and be amazed, humbled and brought to my knees by it😭😭 thank You Jesus🙌🏽

You don't become sinless, you'll be forgiven for your sins. Through belief, not by works, HOWEVER, belief without works what is your faith worth? 🙏❤

Exactly, it’s not that you’re saved by your works, it’s that you might as well be in heaven if you’re not working out your faith. Otherwise what is the point of you being on earth?

Amen pastor , thank you for your help in understanding the depths of our fathers words through his disciples. That has been a struggle. But like anything to be learned ..a practice or profession or I can say repetition to be honest within ourselves and with Christ. Salvation is his gift to us and change must be done within us all. For we are all sinners anyways I don't understand all of Scripture the way I should . But I encourage you to never give up because you are and always have been a very wise God blessed man. Please pray for my mother. Ive tried to explain to her that “The secret” is against God. She uncharacteristically began to tell me off rather aggressively about how “ you dont know what i believe, i am not evil” when all i said was that God’s word does not agree with this not that shes evil

Exactly, confession, being part of repentance, is effect, not cause. “…the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?” (Rom 2:4). “And I will pour out…the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him…” (Zech 12:10).

I don't necessarily agree that it because their last act is one they can't confess but rather the act of suicide is a display of our ability to have enduring faith, an act of giving up. Just how gambling shows a lack of faith that God can provide for us.

Voddie, I love your delivery. But it got me thinking. That if there is no darkness from God. How do you explain Isaiah 45:7? I am the LORD, and there is none else. [7] I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

@@natedoeg evil is a bad translation. It should read calamity or distress. Only the kjv uses the word evil. Kjv is full of translation errors.

Awesome sermon as always….Question….. how can a truly reborn Holy Ghost filled believer in CHRIST JESUS follow through with suicide? If they have HIS peace and a full understanding of CHRIST’S atoning work on HIS cross for all sin, why would the thought of suicide ever come across that individual’s mind? Were they truly reborn? Did they fully come understand the subjection and authority of the KING of kings? Please help me understand this theological controversy. Thank you so very much with a most grateful heart.❤️✝️💜

It's crazy i just seen another video of sime guy baptizing someone telling them,if they we're ready to be reborn and become a Christian. And was putting some oil on his forehead and acting like it was based on his works. And i believe this is the wrong and idea's people think because of a wrong understanding of scripture.
