The GranGuanche Audax is a self-supported bikepacking event across the Canary Islands. 700km, 16000mt elevation, 5 islands, 4 ferries.
An Audax is a group ride that challenges to cover a distance within an established time limit. During the GranGuanche Audax, the time limit is set on each island by the ferry leaving for the next island.

I cycled about 900km at parts of the route but in three weeks. Every island is different and the route is so nicely scouted. The movie took me back on some moments during the ride. On some remote parts of the route I saw bicycle tracks and it inspired me to think about how those „freaks“ rode here a week ago. It’s hard to imagine how tricky such an adventure/race can be esp. on your mind, when you never did one before. Thanks a lot to Mateo to organize this great event which also motivates „normal“ riders like me to travel to the canaries and push their limits.

I have ridden the gravel route last Oktober and want to thank you for creating such an amazing route! It was a great experience and want to do it again in the future. Beautiful video as well, brought back some memories ;)

Fantastic movie. My gravel bike is a 40 / 11-42, is this enough for all those climbs, what do you guys recommend to have? I am an experienced biker, 20+ years biking :) Thank you for making this movie clip.
