None of that is on GH right now.

They do not deserve an Emmy for producing about three or four solid episodes a year while a nominee, like OLTL, had a solid six months.

I love how The Wicked Witch of the West says "Well this was expected"-even she knows Frons had his hand in them winning, as he did in 2005 and 2006, and that they did not win it fair and square. Totally undeserved.

All of my friends that watch GH believe that the show degrades women and I agree with them-it is disgusting to see what they turn these women into on a daily basis. Look at message boards-the popular opinion is GH degrades women. It is my opinion that shows should not win Drama Series Emmys when they sucked the entire year, save for a couple episodes. It should go to a show that had a consistently good year. Metro Court Hostage was great directing but what about great writing?

Actually, that was true...GH was almost cancelled, in the late 1970s, but then came Gloria Monty, Luke, and Laura. If it were not for those three, they would have gone off the air a long time ago.

It is a travesty when, under Phelps, GH has won 3 Emmys for Best Drama Series and yet, under Gloria Monty (EP during the 80s), they won twice. Monty is the one who saved this show from cancellation whereas Phelps is, bar none, the worst EP of GH ever.

Yep she was why Sarah left...Jill did the story of Carly turning Sonny in to the FBI and Sarah said that was out of character for Carly and hence wanted nothing to do with the story so they got into a big fight backstage and Sarah left. I believe she just came back to GH as Claudia since she needs work and has bills to pay.

Because other than the the Hostage Crisis the acting was trully medicroe for the cast becuz this was the year of the stupid liason baby storyline. Julie character was annoying the entire year. They have material to win this year but not for really for 1 month of great acting.

I will tell you why Y&R is #1 and the best! YR was created by William Bell and he knew how to make it #1 and their writing has been tops (not when Lyn Latham was writing) GH sucks that my opinion, but they are always writing mob stories and their writing is dark! Do your research YR#1 and has been since 1988 and it has it audience and #1 in women 18-49 GH is ABC#1 daytime drama but it not all that!

GH is the BEST soap opera...that is also my opinion....you dont win 10 emmy for nothing...ok yeah sometimes it can be all about the mob...which i dont like either ...but dont get me started on whats wrong with the other soap opera...it cant compare ...GH has and will always be the BEST IN MY OPINION

I look at these wins of GH's now as being WAY overdue for the many years in the 80's that they were kicking A&& in the ratings as the NUMBER ONE SOAP OPERA on television, but were always getting SCREWED at the Emmys. They were past due to be recognized for their greatness!!

@neetrab Y&R been on the lunchtime hour since 1973, but didn't become #1 since 1988. The Newmans and Abbotts are the reason I watch, not these new young characters. There are time the writing is lazy, but I've been a fan a long time. From time to time I do watch GH, and never been a everyday watcher but a watcher who watches every now and then and I tried to understand the scope of the show, butI dont... GH is #1ABC soap in the ABC daytime brand over AMC/OLTL

well, if you need a TV show to stop glamourising mobsters to be able to separate reality from fiction....then that's a problem... It's a freakin' TV soap, and if intelligent people can't figure out that no matter how sweet Jason/Sonny can be that they are still mobsters and aren't meant to be the good guys....then...well..this world has problems...

Sam, Carly, Robin, and Liza are not stupid or stable? I don't see it that way...and Sam ALWAYS gets herself in a situation where she needs a man to rescue her. And GH has not had a good year since the soap butcher, Phelps, came to the show...what I am talking about, with directing/writing, is soaps usually win Best Drama Series over tapes with great directing and writing. GH had it, for great directing, but it was mainly just directing (Metro Court) and not so much writing

Each show submits two episodes in the Best Drama category, and that's what they're judged on, the quality of those particular shows. So your comments about 1 month vs. 12 months and "playing the system" are meaningless.

@calypspoetryguy - haha! I said the same thing. I used to watch Y&R for years..off and on.. and yes that is one BORING soap. I finally got fed up and stopped watching. The abbotts and newmans need to just get over their hatred for one another. They've been going at it for at LEAST 31 years of my existance on earth. And I pretty much just watched because when growing up, my mom and sis used to watch it. Notice i said USED to..lol! They probably think it's boring now too..

While it is rather strange, I'm not surprised. Every year at the Emmys, GH always gets the loudest cheers, clearly the fans still fave GH.

Gh is my fave but I was one of those people going WTF when it won for this year. their montage had the wrong footage in it too.

It was so fucked up that gh won, They barely even had a nomination that whole night. It should have gone to Guiding Light or Young and the Restless, these shows dominated the nominations

Well I'm surprised that people feel GH didn't deserve this. Though Jill was kinda bitchy about it, the Metro storyline alone gave them this Emmy. I only hope that they continue coming up with good storylines.

@neetrab Nick and Sharon were married nick cheated with Phyllis she got pregnant and Sharon found out she slept with Brad and Phyills and Nick married Sharon married Jack than Adam and Nick did string Phyllis and Sharon on and Sharon got pregnant with Nick child Faith Adam switch Sharon and Ashley baby and now Nick divorce from Phyills and on Friday he asked Sharon to married him? The story was hot back in 06 but each writter changed the story

GH tapes two Emmy winning shows, per year, while the rest suck and they submit it for a Drama Series Emmy consideration and win...that is why they are a joke. They can only be serious on 2 tapes a year out of about 250
