So I came back to so-called Singapore's most dangerous area, Yishun. In the last video, many locals gave me advice on where to visit... So I went to some. I had amazing laksa and chicken rice and also met generous locals. Initially, I really thought this place was dangerous and scary. However, I learned that I was wrong. It's a delicious area. But PMDs and electric scooters can be deadly, so be careful!
Thank you for those giving me advices on where to visit. Looking forward to my next trip to Yishun!

Another good place to visit was right across from ORTO - The Lower Seletar Park. Nice place to walk. Go to the Khatib Central area, there's "Big Bitez" at the Broadway at 848 Yishun Street 81 for great cheesy chicken chop, and also a Duck Rice place (always has a queue). 848 is "U" shaped, the Big Bitez and Broadway is on the left "arm" of the U, the duck rice at the bottom part (facing 846). :)

Visit Upper Thomson Road, not far away from Yishun. There is a nature park "Thomson Nature Park" opened lately with some Chinese history and reservoirs Upper and Lower Pierce You can visit Casuarina Curry - a famous Indian cuisine Prata House nearby after your walks or slightly further up, you can try some good food (Meng kitchen Fishball Noodles, Rochor Beancurd, Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry) n coffee (Yahava Coffee) at Upper Thomson Road with more food stalls and cafes by the road. Have a good time exploring!

The PMD at 10:05 is legal in Singapore only on Park Connectors (PCN). I'm guessing that the road that you were walking on is likely a PCN as there are yellow stripes on it. Speed limit is 25km/h and PMD must be UL2272 certified.

Hi Ojisan If you wanna travel around Singapore in a loop, I would recommend taking a combination of buses and trains so that you can see the scenery all around. Here's what I would suggest! Take bus 161 from Sengkang Interchange to Woodlands Interchange. It's an express service and takes about 45-60 min. Along the way you will see the northern parts of Singapore. From Woodlands, take the train on the North South line towards Jurong East. As the tracks are above ground you will see Singapore's western housing estates along the way. From Jurong East Interchange, take bus 97e which will take you through the western and southern parts of Singapore. The bus ends at Pan Pacific Hotel in the Marina Square area. From there, you can walk to Promenade station and take the Circle Line to Mountbatten station exit B. Then take bus 401, and drop off anywhere along East Coast Park Service Road. You can explore East Coast from there. Take the same bus 401 to back to Bedok Interchange, then take the east-west line train from Bedok to Pasir Ris. From Pasir Ris station, a 5 min walk brings you to a bus stop to take 109. You can take this all the way to Changi Village, which is a nice chill area at the east end of Singapore. The same bus 109 will bring you back to Sengkang in the opposite direction. Hope this helps!

If you get lucky, you can actually see otters in the pond next to the hospital. I've seen them twice. And I've seen big monitor lizards at the pond too. If you have time you can walk around the pond, the other side is pretty nice too. There is a nice restaurant called Real Food by that pond next to the hospital. It's a vegetarian restaurant and the food's not bad. And you can get a nice view of Yishun Pond if you dine there. You can also just get a cup of coffee and chill by the windows. It's nice. I like the Portabello Mushroom burger there. Also near the other end of Orto Park. There is a kampung where people do a bit of farming. There are also facilities for trampoline jumping and paint ball in that area. If you have time, you can also go to Lower Seletar Reservoir Park. You can actually see that park if you ride the MRT into Yishun from Yio Chu Kang. That's a really nice park that has connections to the Springleaf Park Connector via an underpass. That Park Connector is very nice too as it runs by the river. Also, you can check out Yishun Dam. That will connect you to the Rowers Bay Park which is also very, very nice. If you cycle, you can cycle all the way to Punggol or Jalan Kayu from the Rowers Bay Park. Jalan Kayu has some pretty good prata and prawn noodles but you won't be in Yishun anymore if you go there. :) If you like Yong Tau Fu, there is a pretty popular and cheap stall just across from the Laksa stall you ate at. The dessert stall next to the Laksa stall is pretty popular too. Back to the hospital. If you have time you should take a walk into the basement. There are small man made streams and a small water fall, it's very nice to chill there if you need to go to the hospital. Thanks for coming to Yishun again. I hope you'll return again. :)

Yes. Humans tend to normalise things very quickly and take their surroundings for granted. Only after being away for some time can you see what's all around you with new eyes. Sometimes it's good to make the effort to "see" things as an outsider would, and recognize the uniqueness of your surroundings/culture etc...

Don’t bother about those who feel offended. Those are probably a handful. It’s just a joke about Yishun as there were many weird(but not dangerous) happenings in that area in a short span of time. Otherwise it’s just like any other neighbourhood in SG. As for the helicopters, Yishun is near an army training area, so you will often see helicopter operations being conducted.

Apologies for my Japanese, as it is not my first language. I speak mainly English, and a tiny bit of Mandarin; enough to communicate with the stall holders when ordering from hawker centers! I'm also very sorry for my long post. Anyway! While I believe other viewers might have already answered them, I'd still like to take the opportunity to explain and clarify some queries you might have during the course of filming your latest video, along with sharing some personal feedback and opinions. First and foremost, while it's generally the norm for Japanese to be polite and apologize for almost anything, even if they're arguably not in the wrong (Don't worry I'm guilty of over apologizing too www) please do not feel like you had been offensive, or said some insensitive things in your previous Yishun video. I've watched most of your Singapore related videos, both on your main channel and Taberu Travel. My mom happens to be a big fan of your videos too, she says that you have a very nice and soothing voice, plus have a very pleasant and humble disposition www (❁´◡`❁) I can confidently say, and even speak for my fellow Singaporean viewers, that you have been nothing short of incredibly tactful, polite, and respectful of the local culture and its people. All the more so when talking about sensitive issues such as WW2 history, and Imperial Japan's colonization of Singapore, etc. This topic might still be sensitive to some locals, especially among the senior citizens and older generation who had been through the Japanese occupation. However, please have comfort in the fact that you handled the topic with utmost consideration and respect to Singaporeans, which is very commendable indeed. From the way you interact with the locals, your reviews of Singaporean cuisine, down to your frank opinions and critic on various aspects of life here, I can sense that you are a very genuine and sincere person. Please do not let anyone here tell you otherwise! We Singaporeans are glad to have you here. As the saying goes, haters are gonna hate. There will always be some butt hurt locals in any country who get offended at what they might deem as "ignorant foreigners" talking ill about their country, or things that they do not understand. Kindly just ignore them, we still think you're awesome regardless! ╰(*°▽°*)╯ Next, regarding the ban on PMD; while the ban has not been fully enforced yet, (it will be in 2020) I believe that licensed models which meet the required safety standards will still be allowed on cycling paths and park connector networks even after the ban, although using them on roads is still strictly prohibited. Personally, while I do sympathize with the inconveniences that this Law might bring for users who utilize them for work, such as food delivery personnel; all in all I think this is for the best, as it makes our footpaths a lot safer. Many a time have I been casually walking along, just minding my own business, or barely exited a bus/taxi and almost been road killed by one of those! (╬▔皿▔)╯ Plus, those errant riders zooming around in their pimped out PMDs at high speed while blasting their obnoxiously tacky music are truly a sight for sore eyes and ears. I believe there was one such contemptuous specimen in this video... (¬_¬ ) As for the topic on SAFRA, while most of their locations have retail shops and swimming pools, they do not serve the function of a mall or pool specifically, but rather sort of like some leisure and recreation area for locals to chill. I believe they offer additional benefits and/or cheaper rates to NS men, (basically all Singaporean males who have completed their 2 Years of mandatory National Service) but SAFRA's facilities are nevertheless open to the public and foreigners too. Additionally, fret not about the Helicopters flying around Yishun! I believe that there's like some military base nearby, which explains the helicopters and potentially other assorted aircraft you might see in the skies around the area. Don't worry, they're not on a manhunt for some escaped fugitive, or Singapore's version of Godzilla! (#°Д°) Finally, I'd just like to clarify about the many and various Laws in Singapore, which might seem daunting and overbearing to some foreigners who would potentially like to work and live here. All the more so for your Japanese viewers! You might be able to translate this and better explain it to them. Most Japanese in general are very respectful of a foreign country's Laws and stuff, so perhaps it would not be that much of an issue. Regardless, I'm pretty sure you're aware about the memes and various infamous quirks about Singapore, like how Singapore is a "Fine" city, and etc! You can easily find such souvenir T-Shirts being sold at touristy areas. Just in case you might not know, apart from the toilet flushing one, we have other really weird and seemingly petty Laws, such as not being allowed to chew or purchase gum, except the therapeutic variety sold at pharmacies. (They still record your ID whenever you make a purchase) However, fret not; to put it colloquially in local slang, in Singapore there's always a "By Right" (i.e. following all Laws and procedures strictly to the T, the undisputed correct method) and "By Left" (i.e. not following Laws or procedures, taking short cuts, but not necessarily anything illegal) method of doing things. That is to say, many of the aforementioned petty Laws are not readily enforced by the authorities... nor are there realistically any practical means for them to enforce certain of these Laws, in particular the toilet flushing one. Rather, they will simply turn a blind eye to it as long as it does not cause any major disruption or inconvenience to other citizens. While I have to emphasize that I'm not encouraging anyone to break the Law here, the chances of anyone actually being fined for minor, everyday infringements such as jay walking, not flushing the toilet, chewing gum in public, bringing Durians onto public transport, feeding the monkeys at a park or littering the streets are exceedingly minuscule. However, while one has to be extremely unlucky to be caught and fined for these in the first place, that isn't to say that people will absolutely never be penalized for such infringements. Ultimately, what these Laws do is not just serve as a deterrence, but ultimately encourage all Singaporeans to be more considerate and thoughtful towards one another. Last but not least, thank you Ghibli Ojisan for taking the time to read through all of this! As mentioned, if you're ever considering to make a video about exploring Ang Mo Kio or Toa Payoh, I'd be most happy to provide you with recommendations for great food places and places of interest which the locals love, or even volunteer to be your "tour" guide for half a day! Thank you very much, and keep up the great work. Happy New Year and best wishes to you! o(*^▽^*)┛

Actually there's a military heli airbase near there , so u could almost hear chopper noise at a daily basic from the morning till 8 or 9 10pm , heli like the Apaches longbow , chinooks , super puma , Seahawk would take off at sambawang airbase , during training they would take a round trip as far to south china sea back and forth between the city . These heli can be better spotted at woodlands ring rd as they flew quite low at that vicinity

Try Katong Shopping Centre's chicken rice. It's very popular and it comes with home cooked soup, with generous ingredients! And also side dish like pickes. I havent actually tried it but I always hear people rave about it and I always see a queue! I also like the Laksa Yong Tau Foo in the same foodcourt. It's a very old shopping centre, now mainly just maid agencies there. Do check it out! And while you are there, check out the whole Katong/Joo Chiat area. The peranakan part of Singapore. Try some peranakan food there, perhaps get a peranakan outfit too?haha. New to your videos. But am loving them. It's amusing sometimes how you exclaim things is amazing and beautiful when these are just very usual, or mostly taken for granted by many Singaporeans. Learning also to be more thankful for Singapore through your videos :-) I am also a traveller who loves discovering local places, away from tourists :-D But haven't done it this in depth like you!
