Ghost Finger - Ghostbusters / Soul Finger Mash-Up

Күн бұрынI am convinced that Ray Parker Jr. must have been partially influenced by the song 'Soul Finger' by the Bar-Kays when he wrote the theme to Ghostbusters. The rhythm lines in both are remarkably similar, and even the call-outs of "Soul Finger!" are reminiscent of "Ghostbusters!". To prove this, I have mixed Ray Parker's lyrics over the music of Soul Finger, making some adjustments to fit the structure of the song better. I hope you enjoy.

Definitely agree that the tune as well as the yelling out of "Soul Finger!" are very similar show. Wonder if when he heard the title Ghostbusters that it reminded him of the sound of the term Soul Finger. Just funny how Aykroyd also got called out for taking the title from the Filmation TV series. Also, watch Adam Corolla's podcast interview with Dan Aykroyd. At 46:15 he asks Aykroyd about Soul Finger's similarity.

It's easy to explain. Blues Brothers...Stax covers and Stax musicians playing Jake and Elroy's band members. We want "THAT" sound....Parker delivered. If Huey Lewis is owed money from Parker......Lewis owes Stax and The Bar-Kay's.

Oh, c’mon, man…of course this was a complete copy. Both songs are cool…but RP swiped the tune note for note.

What's interesting is that Ghostbusters caught shit from supposedly copying 'I Want a New Drug'. There are similarities, but this is a hell of a lot closer.

@@dandiego7298Here's how it goes, Ghostbusters theme song was inspired by New Drug but New Drug was inspired by Pop Musik by M but it comes to find out that Pop Musik was inspired by Soul Finger.
