I transferred to a new school the year this came out, and had no friends for the first semester. This saved my life.

This episode first premiered in January of 2008, that would make me 20 years old... I was still living with my parents at the time and hated everything about it. Due to a wicked series of bad luck, horrible financial situations, bad jobs with no reliability (and I've learned to deeply hate the term, "small business owner" which to me translates to, "tyrant at all costs)... I simply never had the financial means or courage to live alone. I had no idea that it would take me until I was 35 to FINALLY move out on my own and be financially independent. I can safely say that there are zero downsides to living alone. ZERO. I prefer peace over people and cannot believe I use to live in a household in which noise NEVER stopped compared to today where everything is quiet, cold and calm. My god, it's the best.

I remember my mom got me the lunchbox when they switched to Coy and Vance...I lost that thing so fast. Thankfully I got another one when they reissued the version with Bo and Luke.

The "old west" piece that starts around 2.17 is just beautiful. Post and Carpenter were magicians when it came to this theme.

It's easy to explain. Blues Brothers...Stax covers and Stax musicians playing Jake and Elroy's band members. We want "THAT" sound....Parker delivered. If Huey Lewis is owed money from Parker......Lewis owes Stax and The Bar-Kay's.

Definitely agree that the tune as well as the yelling out of "Soul Finger!" are very similar show. Wonder if when he heard the title Ghostbusters that it reminded him of the sound of the term Soul Finger. Just funny how Aykroyd also got called out for taking the title from the Filmation TV series. Also, watch Adam Corolla's podcast interview with Dan Aykroyd. At 46:15 he asks Aykroyd about Soul Finger's similarity.

Cathy Mitchell is a damn professional. She's done so many infomercials with so many strange actors Steve Brule doesn't even phase her at all.

There's some weird backstory when you think about the Dukes. From dialog, they're all first cousins to each other and ALL were raised by Uncle Jessie, who's old enough to be their grandfather. That means Jessie has five siblings who abandoned/lost custody of their kids.

Coy and Vance were totally different from Bo and Luke. With them, the blond guy wore the blue shirt and the dark haired one wore the yellow/beige shirt.
