Highway 6 is a narrow winding road along Kootenay and Slocan lakes. We encounter a severe weather alert with heavy rain and flooding, which causes a change in our navigation plans.
Hotsprings, forests, glaciers, canyons, alpine lakes, and mountian vista's along the cliff side roads on the way to the small mining town Silverton BC which was part of the "Silvery Slocan" Silver Rush.
We stop in the safe port of Silverton B.C. for rest and a step back in time at the mining gallery and take a look at some of the old mining equipment, machines, and old mining methods. Silver mining and prospecting is a huge part of the region and the development of industry.
