Favorite line from the original? Mine is "Back off man. I'm a scientist." I had the Ghostbusters International RPG as a kid and it had so many of the great quotes in it.

That was so funny. Poor innocent Jay. I too didn’t get that key master, gatekeeper for awhile. When you rewatch it they really hammer it home. Thanks for the laughter guys.

Jay makes a great point about how powerful the musical cues can be, especially if its something from our childhood. If a Snoke clone was sitting on a toilet reading a phonebook and John Williams 'Binary Sunrise' began to play, I'd already be on Fandango looking for tickets, sad and tragic as it sounds.

I didn't notice on my first 10 or so viewings because I was watching the Stay Puft minis that were pushing the buttons. At 2:20 just after they splatter the guy inside the container his little face appears pressed against the glass. I love that detail.

Regarding the Keymaster thing: Let me blow your mind some more: the KEYmaster in the original, Louis, is the guy who is constantly locking himself out of his apartment... without his keys.

What a coincidence. I was wondering if anyone was going to cover the international trailer. Being an international person from the prison colony of Australia I caught this trailer and was amazed that it was basically all new footage as well as finally having a take of Paul Rudd saying "the town shakes on a daily basis" that actually sounds like a person having a conversation. If people didn't start reporting on the trailer soon I was going to hit twitter and send it around. I get why this wasn't in the other trailer but it kind of blew my mind the way this trailer opens. Flashing back to Spengler was something I did not expect to see. Even knowing it's not Harold Ramis it's really cool seeing him still taking on the ghosts even after everyone else has gone off to do other things. I didn't think I could be anymore excited for this movie. Spoiler alert, I'm more excited for this movie now.

They produce Ghostbusters in a way that it was for kids, so kids wouldn't get the joke. I'm a huge fan of 30 years and I only got that reference really after rewatching the first movie again this year… and WOW, that went over my head too as a kid…. So, 30 years later, yeah… Key Master/ Gatekeeper …. I remember them saying it… now I get it!

What nobody notices in the orginal Ghostbusters was when it showed Louis Tully and Dana Barrette laying down on the bench. Tully had his pants down. The whole key master/gate keeper thing should have been solved then.

I’m wondering how much significance I can put into the fact that the new protagonists have one proton pack, but you see four streams converging over that hellmouth gateway. The rumor of course is that three of the original four Ghostbusters return, and Egon‘s granddaughter has the fourth pack, so…crossing the streams? :) Please, let it be so.

The funkos of that was what reminded me that this looks G rated compared to all the others. Since youve seen it, is there *any* adult humor at all? Also, please tell me that they arent trying to get the 11 year olds dating in the movie.

@@froshaka okay there are no 11 year olds trying to date. I'm going to say it's probably the same level of humor as the original. I don't want to give anything away that the trailer didn't. I enjoyed it the audience enjoyed it when we all swept away with Nostalgia? I think so. But I can't imagine anyone's not going to love the lead character.

To be fair, I think it was more than just a sex joke. I think Dan Aykroyd is really into weird occult stuff, so a spell that requires both male and female energy seems very much based in mythology.

Also I feel like not many people point this out, but I think they decided to make cg look..a bit...cheap intentionally? Just like how orginal ghostbusters looked like to feel more nostalgic And I'm so glad they made this choice.

Did we just see the death of Egon Spengler in the first 10 seconds of this trailer? I'm pretty sure that it was Egon driving that Shandor Mining Company truck when it crashed. This was the best trailer to date.

Well no we did not see him dying. We know he is alive after that as he is limping to the porch of the farm house holding the trap when the invisible ghost tries to attack him again. Then he places the trap he had under the floor. So no we don't see him die but we see him catching the ghost that crashed his car trying to get what ever ghost he had in the trap back. He had that trap in the car as you can see it there and it has something in it as the red light is blinking.

@@Wezqu You're right, but that was one helluva crash, with the windshield cracking, the truck overturning, so it could cause a great deal of damage to a guy. Besides, we don't get to see the actual context of each of the events.

By this trailer seems like they amped up the action and toned down the comedy aspects from the original. Which may be good because competing with the original that way would be hard and it would be away to differentiate the new from the old.
