In a way the prodigy ghostbuster girl was in some way responsible for the demon escaping. Being fiction it is hard to describe the exact mechanisms of ghost capture/retention. Thus the Ghostbusters may be viewed as creating their own job, or just being massively liable for damages. So again since it is fiction, no one thinks of ghosts as positive sentient lifeforms, but just freaks. So how one is depicted here causes a lot of confusion.

I am not the biggest Ghostbusters fan but I enjoyed the movie well enough, even if it was a bit messy. The inclusion of the OG cast mixed with the new cast worked well and there was enough horror elements and comedic jokes that worked for me to walk out having had a good time.

As a fan it pains me to say this but I have to be honest; Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a bad movie. The film is a mess. It's boring, poorly paced, confusing, convoluted and overly complicated. Too many characters, many of which have been needlessly shoehorned into the story. It's overstuffed with unnecessary dialogue, subplots, characters and scenes which go on for far too long. It's not funny either. I didn't laugh once during the movie, and neither did the audience I was watching it with. Neither is it scary. Laughs and scares are the two things you expect from a Ghostbusters film but this film doesn't provide any. Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan may be talented directors, but they're the wrong people to be writing these films. With a heavy heart, I rate this film 3 out of 10. I feel a lot of fans are in denial about just how bad this film is.

I really wanted to like it, or well, at least give it a chance. Everyone in reddit and social media were going crazy when the RT reviews dropped and I decided to watch it and then form my opinion on it. I went to watch it on its day of release and apart from me, there were other two people there. By the time the film was over, I kid you not, I felt empty and like this was one of the worst films I've ever seen. I still went to see it again because the only thing I love more than ghostbusters is Dan Aykroyd and he was the best part of the movie. I share your thoughts on it, this movie is a mess. Cringy dialogue, they cut too many scenes, too many pointless characters, none of the character gets properly fleshed out, things happen because the script say so, trying to shove too many plots and none of them gets solved in a satisfying way... I had a bad hunch when Dan's social media accounts only posted a video of him advertising a special cocktail that would be offered at AMC. Like, when the creator of a film decides to advertise his other business, you know something's kinda off 💀

Most of the stuff in the trailer wasn't even in the final film. It was very misleading and whatever they cut obviously would've made the film more coherent. Studio meddling and checklists probably ruined what could've been a fun film

@@carolh.7134 Buying a cinema ticket is like casting a vote. By buying a ticket (or in your case two tickets) you're effectively telling the studio that you want more of the same. This is why we get so many bad sequels. We all need to be far more selective about what we choose to see at the cinema. It's the only way the standard of filmmaking will improve.

you are too soft on it it hit your nostalgia ... no shame in admitting that 3.5/5 = 7/10 is above its value by 2 points ... the critic would say 1.5/5 , the average viewer would say 5/10
