#ghosts #lasvegas #titanic
Some images are for illustration only.
Today we will look at some of ghosts, history and legends of the mysterious Luxor Las Vegas Hotel and Casino!
Considering this is a modern building, it has its fair share of ghosts! Is the Luxor cursed? Is it haunted by a member of the mob? Who is the deadly blonde? Is the Titanic exhibition haunted? Why have there been so many tragedies at the Luxor?
Stay tuned for the post script where I will share with you some weird things that happened to me during my stay at the Luxor in March! Have a look at some more treasures from my ever-growing collection!
Let me know if you would like a broader Las Vegas video on some more locations in and around sin city!

I did an Art Bell interview back in the early 2000’s and this was the main topic. Preternatural events while on violent crime scenes. I worked southwest area command for LVMPD at the time. I didn’t know people all couldn’t feel, hear or see the things I could. I could track lost people or find myself in an area that I shouldn’t be in and find a person dying. It was not normal I guess to be able to do that.

@@ghostcasebook1266 I think this is probably a great video. But I can't get more than 2 minutes into it. The pauses for dramatic music is just too much. Quietly in the background is one thing, stopping the narration for so long, so many times is a data waster. Just some constructive criticism.

I stayed at the Luxor just a couple of weeks ago on a business trip and I can definitely say that there is a noticeable dark, and ominous atmosphere to the place. Just the structure design and lighting in itself feels like its inviting people who are down on their luck to commit suicide.

Let me tell you a little bit about that for one you don’t make a hotel that was supposed to be a mortuary temple for the dead number two I don’t think that the creators of Luxor realized that 50 miles away from their Luxor is an actual temple of sekhmet in Egyptian goddess there could be a link between them building this hotel and the temple because when you make things for the dead, you attach spirits to that thing and sekhmet and I think that’s why you have a lot of revenge murders in Vegas because the goddess that they worship 50 miles outside of Vegas is a revenge goddess she’s like an avenging Angel

Agreed. I stayed there when it was new. There was a cool water ride in the lobby and a neat tour. You had ear phones with a tour guide and walked through the excavation of King tuts tomb. Just like Howard Carter found it. Looking in little peep holes to see the artifacts etc. I'm sure I'm not explaining it very well. The rooms were very nice and new but none of us slept well and there was a creepy vibe in the whole hotel and casino

Now that is an actual scary reason to not stay there! I have stayed at the luxor a lot and I have even walked around alone too at 3am.... and yes the towers are better because they don't have low ceilings but I've stayed in the pyramid the suite with the jacuzzi and side room and had a great time and the towers too the executive suite that was cool and other suites always so fun. If ghosts were real I'd imagine all the hotels would be wild and no one would stay there... so.... lol I have also been in the queen Mary and I loved the feeling of history while I was there. Unfortunately I never saw anything... anyway the pyramid rooms really need a renovation though that's the only scary stuff I saw, peeling wall paper... 😂 but we got upgraded to an even better room at a tower so I have zero complaints. The staff was amazing!

Word about “weird” things taking place like that eventually gets around and if they were having fewer and fewer people willing to pay to take a ride on that particular ride, then it wasn’t worth keeping it running. Rather than continue to run an unused attraction, and having to keep paying what were probably exorbitant liability insurance rates, it probably was less expensive to get rid of it.

My husband and I go to Las Vegas quite frequently - especially during summer and fall. We stayed at Luxor just once, and it wasn’t the best experience. No hauntings but a very weird experience: our youngest son and his (now) wife had an adjoining room. One day during our stay his (now) wife pounded on the adjoining room door asking for my help, as my son and I have always been very close. I found my son incredibly ill with his head over the toilet. I went into Mom mode and tried to comfort him with a cold cloth, etc. He elbowed me quite hard, which IS NOT my son. My points: he hadn’t had more than a beer or two; he didn’t have any virus; he has no recollection of the events, and we all went out to dinner about an hour later where all was perfect. 🤷‍♀️

I also got ill when i stayed in the Luxor back in 1998 with my family. I just put it down to heatstroke though. I was gutted about it because I never got to ride on the New York rollercoaster nearby. There was quite an ominous, heavy feeling along the corridors, but maybe it was because it was so big and hollow inside and had quite low lighting (the Mexico pavilion at Epcot had a similar feeling.

The term "86 it" was originally used in NYC. The term comes from a speakeasy called Chumley's. Chumley's had two addresses, one was at 86 Bedford Street. When cops would raid the bar during Prohibition people were directed to flee via 86 Bedford Street, hence the phrase "86 it." It has now come to mean to get rid of something, esp. when it comes to restaurant menus.

I had an experience at the Luxor. At the back, there is a ramp, flanked by two winged griffins. You go up the ramp to a small enclosed court yard. It has water falling all along the back wall. It had a very cooling effect. I went up first , while my friends lagged behind. When I first got there there were other people. But they quickly left. Now, I was alone, enjoying the cooling water fall. My back was turned away. I felt someone approaching me. Thinking it was my friends I turned to greet them. To my shock, there was a figure standing in front of me. About six foot tall, not completely formed. I was so shocked and scared, I screamed and went down into a ball on the ground. I stayed like that for a bit, then took a peak. It was gone. I was still all alone. I looked, and my friends were still looking at the griffin statues. When they finally came up the ramp, I tried to tell them what had happened. One friend blew it off. But the other said, she under stood what I was saying.

I moved to Las Vegas in 1988. At that time all of the old 'Rat Pack' casinos were alive and booming, but unfortunately for a very short time. The first implosion I watched was the Dunes Hotel and Casino. WOW what sad but exciting experience at the same time. Then one after another of these original mob run beauties were blown up and something even more magical was built! My first job on the "Strip" was as a casino cocktail server at the Mirage the first mega resort on the Las Vegas Strip. I remember visitors staying at the Sands Hotel and Casino would complain about the noise of the volcano keeping them up (we chuckled about that because the volcano's last show was at 1:00 AM) and they asked if the Mirage could please stop after the 11:00 PM show. Of course they did. But the awful thing about the volcano the first few weeks was birds of all kinds stopped to rest and without any warning the volcano erupted and sadly killed many of the birds. Everyone was deeply concerned about this, but all the parents coming in with shock on their faces and children crying. Oh, it was an awful mess until someone devised a warning system that only the birds could feel or hear and made sure it would WORK did they ever turn the fire back on. I absolutely loved seeing inside the LUXOR! I remember the boats that would take you completely around the gaming areas and more, it was free when it first opened. They decided it was not making any money for the casino so they took it out and filled it with more slot machines. At that time their was the exact replica of everything found in King Tut's Tomb and there was a fantastic older gentleman who was a larger than life happy to see you and knew every piece on display with a few stories to go with them. He was such a delight, I brought some friends to see him (mainly) and Tut's treasures. Unfortunately he was no longer there, he was replaced with those headphones. Never was the same even though I still went a dozen or more times. I LOVE history Egyptian history and English history of the Kings and Queens starting from 800 to 1400's. France has the prettiest fairytale castles, but England, English castles reek of masculinity, strong Knights in shining armor, riding massive warhorses beautifully decorated in their own lavish armor, riding off to defeat a foe. You are so lucky to live there. I'm so sorry I got of the LV subject. I still live here today and have a few more stories about really cool placed like Hoover Dam! If you ever come back to Las Vegas you must go on the damn tour! There is also the guy from Ghost Adventures a pretty popular show for a long time . Zak Bagan's Hunted Museum. I worked for Attorneys for a short time and that building was where the Clark County Bar Association had been for several years. One time I was able to go inside for some papers. I was so excited about the house it looked to me to be really old (growing up in Los Angeles I didn't see anything but track housing, miles and miles of ugly houses that all looked the same, ugh). While waiting for the legal papers one of the office persons took me on the grand tour, and grand it was complete with two ghosts. One was a playful young girl. I don't think the other was very nice. That haunted house is part of Zak's Haunted Museum.

I did wander the casino quite a bit and my wife and I ate in the food court where that lady who fell landed. My wife did the Titanic exhibition, but didn't experience anything untoward. I'm surprised spirits want to stay there. Like anywhere else in Las Vegas, it's loud and active at all times!

That sounds like such a scary experience, sorry to hear you went through that. It was interesting to hear about the ghosts of the Luxor. I once had a scary experience at a hotel in Spain. One night my family and I couldn’t sleep as it was humid and there was a huge fly buzzing about the room - we tried to open the window to let the fly out and get some air in, but the fly wouldn’t leave, so we decided to open the room door to try and let the fly out - A few seconds after I did that, we heard someone say ‘hello’ in a low, creepy voice from outside the door. I slammed the door shut and jumped under my covers. It was bewildering as the hallway was empty upon opening the door. Super spooky stuff! This was in the early hours of the morning too

Wow, Nicola, sounds like you had some very unsettling experiences in the Luxor. Pretty sure that man was dead; no one would do a faceplant and stay there. So sorry you had to experience that. Great video! I went to Vegas in my early 20's, (2006) and I can honestly say I will never return. The entire strip and surrounding area is filled with this toxic, almost gooey negative energy, and I absolutely hated every minute of it. From the second I steppd foot off of the airplane I knew it wasn't the place for me.. I actually stayed at the Sahara and it wasn't long before I felt an oppressive presence in my hotel room. Being the sensitive person that I am, I began talking to whomever it was in room... explaining my reasons for not immersing myself in what I felt was the "Vegas experience" and how much I disliked it from the start. The overwhelming energy of the room started to dissipate and although I could feel the masculine energy was still present, he no longer made me feel uncomfortable. I can say that there was ONE place in which I did enjoy myself and that was Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville! 😂 But I will never visit Vegas again.

Wow! I've never been to the Luxor so Thank You. It's ironic that they've got a Titanic exhibit as the Luxor is the Titanic of its day... ulp! Las Vegas's mob genesis is part of its fascination. Man in Brown Suit might be Bugsy Siegal but I'm pretty sure he bathed, so yes, a spook from the same era. The white-bulb-headed man at the door was probably a dwarf, but how he coincidentally showed up across the hotel from his original room to glare at you again makes me think that your calling may attract actual spirits. The man in the Inclinator was probably a drunk who died, because of all the fuss. I don't believe the Great Pyramid was ever a tomb, but the Luxor sure is. Really interesting, and I'd love more on Las Vegas.

Thank you, Nicola, for another well-produced excellent video. Las Vegas has an unusual vibe for sure; something uncanny and depressing about the place, I find.. That was a creepy man you described... oof. And seeing a dead body on a lift is shocking enough, but the indifference of those people is awful... that no one couldn't be bothered for someone who needs help. In regards of the ambivalent attitude to mr lift guy. .. Las Vegas is a holiday/leisure resort. So it will attract all sorts of people - good or bad. I guess this kinda thing happens more than people would like to admit. .. Apparently it's quite common for people to fall overboard on cruise ships, but again not overly publisized due to its taboo nature.. & effect on tourism.. .. Definitely a distressing incident.

Thanks for sharing! I agree the inclinators do give you a very odd feeling, like being on a boat or a plane somehow. Apparently if you go up to floor 30 you get a head rush! I would have liked to have seen the laser and river boats but not to be! 👻🙋‍♀️🙏

Thank you , Nicola, really did enjoy this! I wonder why they chose the Egyptian theme for the Luxor, especially modelling it on a tomb? That would be sure to attract some kind of dark energy, and adding in the Titanic , and all the tragedies of people who might visit casinos etc. Makes me wonder if the wierid head/man you saw was some spirit not from a person, particularly ,but from the bad vibes? Anyway, adding that I enjoy the menus you share find myself picking out my meal from the choices give. And do please give us ghosts of the Strip!

Thank you so much, I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I think they designed it with quirkiness in mind first, just like Excalibur which looks so dated now! But I agree about the dark energies. The bald man scared me completely. It really did. Others have suggested he could be some sort of entity / imp / apparition. I honestly don’t know but I can still see his face even to this day. He was white pale. No colour. Such pointy features. It was a very unnerving experience to say the least! 🙏🙋‍♀️👻

I’ve stayed at the Luxor many times and for a long time it was my go to hotel as I love anything Egyptian I never had a problem staying there until I felt a presence one night in my room. I didn’t see anything but I knew something was there I’m fascinated by ghosts But on this occasion, my courage failed me. I put on eye shades, earplugs, and covered myself in the duvet, as I was quite unnerved.

Great video Was my first time watching your content. I thought your voice was automated for a second then once I realized it was really you 😂 so refreshing. Well Vegas is like a 2nd home to us in LA and your experience sounds like par for the course. You running down hallway away from creep good job. You have to always stay on your toes and scan your horizons and exits in LV that’s for sure. The ones that look creepy well thank goodness for that it’s the ones that you would never expect that will get ya. Oh and yeah I stayed at Luxor once before. That’s it. Hopefully same for you. New shooter your up hands back yo!

Thank you ever so much for your kind comment. Yes, I was there in order to head on to Long Beach for the Queen Mary. I agree, Las Vegas can be an unnerving place and there are some weird people but having said that, aren’t there some weird people everywhere now? 🤣 Yes I remember going to Las Vegas from LA on a greyhound bus many years ago and travelling through the national parks. 🙋‍♀️👻🙏

Thank you so much Chris! That’s so kind. It’s not a place I could spend much time in, to be honest. I didn’t gamble at all while I was there. I was only there as the flight came in there and then we could go on to Long Beach for the Queen Mary but Las Vegas is like living in a bubble! 🙋‍♀️👻🙏

So glad to see another video! I had a similar experience happen to me as your elevator (lift) story, though this took place in Connecticut. I was driving home from my grandma’s house one night and I was stopped behind a car at a red light in the left turn only lane. The light turned green but the car ahead of me didn’t move. I gave it a few moments and then I honked my horn and it still didn’t move. The light turned red again and I saw a car pull over and a guy got out and started knocking on the window of the car ahead of me. He eventually drove away and the light continued to turn green, then red, a few more times and nothing was happening. Finally I decided to pull around him at the next green light and as I did I looked in his window and this guy had his head slumped back like he was sleeping, passed out… or worse. I pulled into the first parking lot I could and called the police. This was years ago and to this day I don’t know what happened to him.

Oh good grief that’s scary! How awful, and quite a shock I would imagine! It was for me, whether the man in the lift was dead or not. You don’t see things like that on a daily basis in general! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for sharing your experience 🙋‍♀️👻🙏

How odd... .. Thou the obvious cause for the lift guy could be drunk/passed out, drugged/overdose. .. But another possibility could be sleep apnoea/ narcolepsy. Or even hypersomnia (possibly related to shift work or disturbed sleep patterns). .. When people just fall into a deep sleep all of a sudden. They would immediately cease their activities and may appear deceased. .. Heart attack & sleep apnea narcolepsy seem & look similar in appearance from a quick glance....? .. But what happened to this lift guy seems a bit more serious...

All I can say is I won't be staying at the Luxor anytime soon 😬😁 would love a video on the ghosts of Las Vegas. I will look forward to that one as by the sounds of it there will a LOT of ghosts 👻 Thanks Nicola for another great video 👍🏻👻

Oh I have a couple stories about this hotel. In 2011, my mom and I stayed here. We got up to our room, it was about midway up and It was a complete disaster! Chairs strewn about, tables knocked over, mattresses askew. The thing i remember really specifically was the toilet paper roll was unwound completely into a pile on the floor. I thought that was weird of someone to do, regardless of what they used the room for. We went down to the front desk and my mom threw a complaining fit, but I guess it was pretty well deserved considering the state of the room. One of the other desk people radioed what I assume was the cleaning lady who was in charge of cleaning that room before our arrival. The front desk man simply asked "Is room XXXX completed?" And the woman on the other end responded "Yes sir, is ready" in a very quick and confident tone. They had some back and fourth but it sounded like she was pretty sure she hadnt made a mistake. Either way, the front desk people ended up upgrading us to a hot tub suite which was absolutely incredible to have. The possibility of the room just mistakenly getting marked as clean when it wasnt is of course an obvious possibility, but the way the room was messy wasn't normal. It didnt really look like anyone had actually used it for sleeping or showering, the soaps werent open and the beds were still relatively made, towels were clean (but pulled off of the railing) etc. It was a bizarre experience and at the time I didnt know the hotel had a reputation for being haunted. The next story is from a couple years ago in 2022. Took my boyfriend for his birthday. We only visited the Luxor for the Titanic/Bodies exhibitions. At one point my boyfriend went to the lobby restroom and he came out white as a ghost and said "I think someone is dead in there in one of the stalls." The door to the stall was slightly ajar, not latched and he saw a bluish pale man sitting on the toilet slumped back with his eyes and mouth open. We told security and they put up a barcade like they did to the elevator in your video. It didnt take very long for cops and paramedics to show up. They all ran into the restroom, then after a few minutes waked out very slowly and started making radio calls. It was obvious to us that he was definitely dead at that point, so we didnt want to hang around and see any more. That one was probably a drug overdose or something like that, but it adds to the many stories that can be told about the Luxor.

Oh my goodness me that’s mad about the room for sure. How odd! I wonder how that happened there? The man in the loo sounds frightening too but these things do happen don’t they? I’m sure it was a shock as was the guy int he lift for me! I will never forget that moment when the doors opened! 😱🙋‍♀️

That was really very interesting. I’d heard stories about the Luxor some time now, but you’ve added some more meat to the bones of these stories. It’s all very strange and mysterious. I had also heard of the Titanic Exhibition in Vegas, but didn’t know it was housed at the Luxor. Thanks for sharing, yet again,❤,😊. EDIT : P.S Yes, more Vegas stories, please,❤.
