As always more riveting tales from the greatest country on earth. Today I could not help but think of a little old Scottish man who came here and told me, "The Scots keep the Sabbath Day and anything else they can get their hands on." A hoard of money and a severed hand. Thank you once again.

I encountered that quote on the wall of a Naval radio station. It takes more than just the Scots, though: "The British comprise a number of people's: Firstly the Scots, who keep the Sabbath and everything else they can lay their bluidy hands on, secondly the Welsh, who pray upon their knees and prey upon their neighbours. Thirdly there's the Irish, who don't know what the hell they're fighting for, but they're willing to die for it, and finally you have the English who consider themselves to be a race of self-made men, thereby ridding the Almighty of a dreadful responsibility!"

@@oordenkings2460 thank you. The old Scot told me that in full but I immediately forgot the Welsh part and bungled the Irish and only remembered the Scottish because, well I have Scottish blood.

The book is a compendium of ghost stories, simply titled *"Ghosts"* edited by Morven Eldritch and published in 2006 by Geddes & Grosset. The title of the story, on Page 131, was "The 'Hideous Hand' Of An Unknown Lady".
