What are the products to use to repair broken waist and thumb?

The waist repair was made with a 2 part Epoxy (different brands like Loctite, Gorilla - fairly inexpensive material). The thumb is another form of epoxy, Epoxy Putty. This video is like watching a car crash. I've never in my life been so angry at a repairvideo. I used to repair these things when I was 9 and 10 years old. Clearly you start unscrewing from the back in order to unscrew the entire figure. Starting at the leg was a mind-blower to me. And I cracked up when the leg brace broke after you did it literally the hardest way you could possibly go about doing it.

Nice work on the thumb and crotch but I think some initial research about disassembly of these figures could have saved labor. Also, I think the wire around the o-ring was a previous repair by a former owner. Every Joe I've ever taken apart has a T hook.

Thanks for watching and your feedback Brian, I appreciate it! I’ve heard of the ‘o’ ring replacement so I knew of those going bad, but this whole wire set-up was strange. When I record my repairs it’s pretty much as I’m working. The wire is a mystery, I’ve had this figure since I bought it new as a kid. I’ve also got the ‘Grunt’ figure and I’ve never opened the body, so maybe I’ll do some preventative maintenance on his ‘o’ ring and find a normal assembly. Finding that T hook here would’ve been much more straightforward and a quicker repair! Lot’s of T hooks on Ebay -

+isaac wilson Thanks for the info! This is the first one I've worked on. Seemed a little peculiar with the wire fastening the upper and lower body. I Googled the "T" hook though to get a look at that.

It's a lot easier to take the screw out of the back, and it probably wouldn't have strained and broken the metal part. You also could have salvaged a replacement from a less valuable figure and it would be more durable.

Thanks Robert, yes hindsight is best on this project but your feedback here helps others too.
