I love that fungbros always seek out history and try to give people like myself a peek into a world of food , I haven’t grown up eating. Breaking down the “standards” of today and lifting up small businesses.

Daniel's deep voice is music to my ears, especially when he's speaking the language of his ancestors.

I agree 100%. I was literally about to write a similar comment (basically that his deep voice is sexy, especially when speaking his mother language) but then I'd seen your comment.

OMG I am soooo excited that you guys tried Dongbei food! I am from Dongbei and I would say that EVERY single dish shown in this video is absolutely the most quintessential one we always have in my hometown! I believe most of Dongbei people prefer the Harbin type of sweet sour pork and this dish is almost everyone's childhood memory (90s generation). Besides, I heard sweet sour pork is a must learn dish to get the chief certificate. I'm not sure if it's true, but it is extremely hard to make! Ps: the candy yams is supposed to be more crispy and have longer sugar gossamer threads. I will definitely go and try the Happy Valley someday!

Great video! I am a Chinese international student and I guarantee you the contents in this video are authentic. Though there is one typo for the corn bread. It is called 贴饼子 which means sticking bread. The name comes from the fact that they are stuck on the pot to bake. 铁饼 (literally iron bread or iron naan or iron bing) on the other hand means Discus (the sport).

fung bros is always really proud of northeastern chinese people. I appreciate that as a northeastern chinese. The chinese national sports system is also full of dongbei athletes, there are pros and cons to the northeastern chinese people... expressive, emotional, down to earth yes, but also too emotional... watch the chinese basketball fights as examples...

You are right. This type of cuisine (cover carbs with sugar - killer of diabetic people lol) is actually from Shandong cuisine. However, people in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang likes sweetness, so they introduced that into their own food!

I'd give anything to eat some of this again though!
