I love that Awaken Realms offers the standee versions. I wouldn't buy many of their games if they didn't offer it. I have zero artistic ability and so I don’t paint minis. I also get sick of endless giant boxes taking up space on my shelves. So giving me all the gameplay content in a compact form for under $100 is a huge win for me.

22:00 “to see AI art touched up by humans” was a subtle but funny (and true) jab you threw there. Overall Grimcoven’s gameplay doesn’t seem groundbreaking. Shelfside’s review raised a lot of concerns I had with it; especially their KDM friend who gave his opinion on how the combat felt mechanically and thematically

Personally i was really attracted by story of many, but the problem is most if my friends are DnD enthusiasts(if i said that corectly). I got some to play tainted grail with me :D witch I received recently. We do play other games all kinds (skirmish, one shot, boss batlers). But when it comes to roleplay/adventure (generally longer sprawling campaign games) games Dnd is the default game, they want to invest time in.

The REALITY OF THE BACKERS MONEY is this is Free Financing that the company would otherwise need to go to the Bank to get a Business Loan, pay interest on it, and sure they pay crowd funding fees to get their game listed on a crowdfunding platform, but when you see CMON list something or any other company who can fund themselves you're seeing the company get access to funding rather than a bank. King of Average should speak on this reality. When backers are stiffed or strung along these companies are killing the goose that laid the golden egg because the industry as a whole will suffer when backers won't step up to be the funding source and these companies are forced to go back to the bank, or only larger companies can bankroll games.

Kickstarter funneled 8 BILLION through their website. At a 5% take, that gives them $400 million. You think they would be responsible and hold a security fund in reserve to help backers when they get stiffed and go after these scammers. Also refusing LLCs, and the use of Dummy/Shell Businesses that lie about their real origin (East Asian 'designers' with Canadian business shell offices *wink wink*). Start looking into projects. Stop backing unproven companies. Start reporting shady practices. It's your money, be more careful with it.

Thanks for the follow up with the phone call with James Faulkner of Paper Fort Games. It's interesting how you described your phone call vs how he described it in the comments of the Kickstarter. "We had the call, I hope he was satisfied with the answers I gave and he kindly gave me the time to answer my questions too." Everything seems so sketchy with this guy. However, you made me feel better with how your conversation with ReLogic went. I feel like worst case scenario, they would make sure we got our games one way or another. Now only hoping that it's a somewhat decent game. Thanks again for the work that you do KoA!

When I saw it still had Re-Logics name on it, I felt the same. Re-Logic might be the most generous company in gaming. They have updated Terraria for free for years and always have always respected the Terraria community. If something went south with Paper Fort, I’m sure they would make sure it got fulfilled.

I love the standee versions personally. I am not a painter so colorful standees is a nice alternative to mountains of grey plastic. The fact that it saves me money and space to boot is a nice bonus. That being said I'll probably be passing on Grimcoven but that's more because I have reservations with the gameplay that's been shown. But on the flip side Blood announcing a standee version made it go from a pass to cautiously optimistic let's see how the game plays for me.

With respect to Petersen Games, I was under the impression that the US has lost (or never had the know-how) to manufacture game components compared to China. And if they are just now building the factory(ies), how many more years is it going to be before games are delivered? This seems like a major undertaking where so many things can go wrong. Ah well. I backed Hyperspace, and I’ve already written it off.

Sad to hear it. I backed everything Cthulhu Wars over the 4 campaigns, and got it all in a reasonable time scale too. It sucks that their follow-on campaigns were a dumpster fire.

According to Peter Ziehan it takes about 4 years to set up manufacturing industries (That's planning, land acquisition, approvals, construction, hiring and troubleshooting. Etc.) and we should have started this process 10 years ago for some industries. De-globalisation is going to effect more than just the TT community unfortunately.

A lot of board game companies seem to still struggle with negative content on their games etc. Not sure why most industries have people saying great and not great things about them and their product it is unfortunately part of the business. If you are going to run a company you have to be able to handle harsh criticism

Stellaris: Infinite Legacy from Academy Games is in the same kinda position as Petersen Games. Focusing on other campaigns and yet they are still working on the tooling and steel molds for their minis 2 years after they said minis were already in production.

Have you got any thoughts on Blood by LMS? Shelf space dictates that I should probably only back that or Grimcoven, but Blood still being a couple weeks away makes it a difficult comparison, though obviously I suppose Late Pledge is an option.

What glue do you use for resin. I tried tamiya thin cement glue and zap a gap medium ca+. They dont work very well

Super glue for resin, I tend to use Gorilla Glue but any brand will work. And epoxy like JB Weld would also work and be tougher technically. Super glue gets very brittle when cold for instance.

@@TheErnieforss Glue less, use accelerant more. Spray it on one piece, apply a small amount of glue to the other piece, and hold for 15s. Contact is more important than glue volume, in most cases.

Tamya is a plastic glue. Works on plastic by melting it and fuseing it once it solidifies again. Resin isnt plastic. To glue resin you need to slightly file/scratch the contact points and glue those with superglue.

Nah man it was super petty, accusatory, argumentative and immature. I had to fight to even be able to ask him some questions, most of which he would just respond with another question. I have no plans to keep on that, but promised an update so that's in the video. Moving on otherwise. Thankfully Re Logic was super awesome in responding.

Very disappointing and I'm sorry I have to resist publishing more, but it'd quickly just get messy and that's not my goal at all. While it'd have been great to have a usable interview, my summary is indeed a summary so the outputted message is the same :) Re Logic is awesome and dedicated. James is minimized as long as things go well and he has others to do for him.

18:41. Ouch. Some people dont want to spend $100 and still want to play the game. Its not a lot but there are people that just cant afford buying deluxe all the time when standard is good enough. Also i do wish cmon made cardboard verison of there game. I want dc united but i dont have the room to hold all those boxes with plastics.

Oh I totally get it! The problem is the numbers are sadly quite low usually. I was a big advocate for cheaper entry prices, but the numbers usually show a really low turnout.

@@TheKingofAverage At least the standee version is the same content as the future retail content so all the work being put into it would be done by them anyways. Maybe they even print larger quantities at the same time as well to bring the cost of the extra SKU down. Would make sense.

Wanna talk on the Peterson thing. I think the last comment sums up that whole thing. Thank you for catching something I missed with tooling. Probably glossed over it because it's been stuck in tooling for years. Tooling was supposedly complete then a couple were going back to retool. Then a couple more. Then it was every mini. That was I wanna say about 2 years ago. Mystery package isn't something people want to really hear about. Yes I signed for that hoping I could see what this new partnership would bring. So far nothing but disappointment for me. Now they have to start over completely on tooling so we're right back to square one here. I've already written off getting hyperspace and I'm in on that for everything. Same with eternal adversary, another Peterson games game. I will agree that hid games are fun but this isn't fun. If we get hyperspacenwithout seeing extra funds bringing asked for, it would be amazing. If they ask for more money I'm not sure that I'll give it. Played a prototype back when it was in campaign and liked it then but I don't know if it will deliver on that fun. Then there is quality and what switching manufactures means for that. Rather worried about what I'll get but at this point maybe I shouldn't care anymore. Thought things were starting to look up but feels the same old same old On make games, not campaigns : totally need to do that again.

When it comes to Peterson Games it does not look like they are still tooling... the new partner has started over. They apparently lost access to all of the original almost completed molds for Hyperspace, which implies the new company is going to try their hand at the miniature production. I expect that like the Drawlab experience with Project Elite, the miniatures are going to be rather poor now.

I've been posting the link to your Terraria game warning video on every facebook ad I see for it. There's quite a few people mad at James. Hopefully it at least alerts backers to the risk. Though I hope things go well with the IP holders attached.

Grimcoven looks great but the problem is if you watch people's game play vids, the game play is just not something that seems fun. Kiting the boss around while killing smaller enemies to level, to try to beat the boss just seem really grindy.

When are you going to follow up with The Red Joker and get some actual new information about Okko Chronicles: Cycle of Earth? It's now been over six months since their last update, and they've been completely silent about that campaign while delivering another one that funded afterwards. Your last "update" about the game just regurgitated what they said in their update six months ago, so it wasn't really an update, and you didn't even follow up on that. You are in a unique position to put pressure on them and get us some new information, as most of us don't have the connections or influence that you have. I think you owe it to backers since you eagerly promoted the Okko Chronicles: Cycle of Earth campaign.

I'm fine looking into issues, but not because I owe anyone anything. I refuse to take responsibility for a company's bad decisions and mistakes. I give my opinion, nothing more. And all of my viewers are fully capable and regularly do make their own decisions, not blindly follow my opinion. I backed it too, so it's not like I'm just some peddler for the company. I honestly love Okko Chronicles and it's frustrating and sad to see them misstep now. :(

I do not trust PG in the slightest until I receive the goods I paid nearly 300$ for and that were supposed to arrive years ago. I wont belive for a single second that the new partner will honor the old debts of PG and just produce and ship the goods out of pockets... I expect a squeeze that makes Darkest Dungeon look modest.

Not showing the interview and only vaguely alluding to it. Leads me to believe the interview would not stir up the controversy/engagement you desire. Also sounds like your concerns were soundly defeated. If James was a loose cannon wouldn't it be good if backers saw it for themselves?

I get to define my channel and hosting arguments with a developer is not one I want to be known for. The mature thing to do when someone is acting out emotionally as he did is not to show that to 20 thousand people. My summary suffices in doing what my channel is for, informing my viewers of my opinion.
