Update: We got home late last night! So good to be home. James still has lots of appointments and four more weeks of IV antibiotics through 'hospital in the home'. He is getting stronger each day. Thank you for all your prayers and support.

My mum died in a hospital due to cancer she used to say, 'I am felling so much better! Honey! i'll be home with you in a couple days!' Then the next day she died... Im literally bawling my eyes out as I am writing this comment.. :..(

4 years late, but as a teen who spends many months a year in the hospital- it’s lovely to see parents taking such good care of their kids. Keeping them company and such. You’re wonderful.

I hope he has recovered in the past two years and is back to his normal self. Luv ur vids and the effort you put into everything you do.

I made a wedding cake for in the hospital. My grandma has Diabetes. She fell and broke her leg. But after 5 years she still had an open spot on her leg. I won't tell details. She was married for 50 years with my grandpa while she was in the hospital. We had a party there in a family room. Her wish was having a wedding cake. So me and my dad made her one.

This brought tears to my eyes. My daughter has been home for a week from a hospital stay of her own due to a serious illness. Listening to you and seeing the videos of your son reminded me of our stay and all the emotions which I felt while she was so sick. We are lucky she was only there for just over a week and now that she's home she's recovering quickly. I hope James comes home soon and recovers just as fast. It's odd thinking back to the days before her hospitalization and all the things I was doing or was worried about that week, and how we had no idea what lay on the horizon. I found the hospital experience both terrible and wonderful. The fear I felt ate at me day and night and that was awful, but the doctors and nurses were incomparable and worked day and night to help my daughter get better and I'm eternally grateful. While there, because I also stayed in the hospital for the duration of my daughter's stay, I met a few wonderful moms whose children were in the hospital for varying degrees of illnesses. It's humbling to meet parents whose children won't come home one day. I'm thinking of you and wishing you all the best.

As a fellow nurse I know that guy would have been so incredibly stoked to show his colleagues and tell his friends and family what you and your son gave him 💗 things like that so rarely happen, but when they do it totally warms your soul and gives you a massive boost. I have had 14 surgeries in 4yrs. I'm not comparing your son's difficulties to mine. Just letting you know how much I know the hospital life..it's a whole different world! I am so glad he is finally doing better and, if you don't mind, will be praying for him and your family. That's amazing that he chose a special nurse to give it to! I always try to leave gifts of candy or flowers to the nurse(es) who made a difference for me during each stay. They get so little thanks...a giant M&M is a wonderful idea!!! I’m a year late, but I just want to say that you are so unbelievable, and you’ve passed it on to your offspring. You are a chef, a KZfaq star, a dietitian and a beautiful woman. You are not the most viewed channel, but you are not a cheat or a content farm, and you’re ok with that. You make delicious food, and your lovely husband tests the less delicious recipes. You are selfless, kind and generous. And now you are going through this and you are still a chef, a mum, and just an absolute legend. Keep it up and never ever stop ever.

Wow. What a touching story and kind, unusual gift for the helpful nurse. I'm watching this during the pandemic and am thinking how much nurses do for all of us. Honoring one seems especially poignant (not that your son's needs were not equally great). I'm so glad that he was able to fight off the infection.

hi! i just found out about your videos, and i'm not so familiar, but i was wondering why i kept seeing a giant M&M thumbnail, so i saw the video. i am speechless!!! your children are adorable, or at least, i _think_ i know which ones they are from the videos i first watched, which are of the kids tasting all the frostings. some of them ended up being your kids... and i'm not sure which one was in the hospital. is James from the videos? anyway, i was heartbroken to find this video after such happy ones, but i am happy he's ok. what kind of operation was he there for initially? i once had a friend who's girlfriend got an infection like this from an operation, and i will spare you the details, but just to say that she survived, and so, i was so worried in the first part of the video, but then so glad he was ok after they had him on the right, specific antibiotics. i know we don't know each other, and i hope it's not so weird that i care this much... but from the USA, i just wanted to say it pained me to see you so worried and in tears, and i'm glad he's ok. and then... the original thing i would have said before seeing this video: your videos are amazing and they've taught me so much, and your children are adorable. thank you for making these videos!!!

I may be 2 years late seeing this as I’ve only been a subscriber for a few months but I’m really happy that your family made it through this together, you’re an amazing woman and have helped me through some really hard times lately watching your videos has really helped me in moments when I really feel down and have had horrible thoughts of hurting myself or not wanting to be around anymore. I know it sounds crazy how can one woman’s KZfaq channel have this effect on you?! Every parent will know that it really hurts seeing that your child is experiencing painful stuff, whether physical, mental and emotional terms. But it feels so great if they finally managed to get through it. I'm no parent, but I can see how painful for you to know that he's very sick and infected. I was watching one of your tiny baking videos and then I landed on this one Praying for James And it truly breaks my heart to hear your voice, u sound really unhappy here, and im so happy he's doing well now! 8:51- 9:00

Geez I had an antibiotic resistant staph infection in one of my joints. I know exactly what he was going through. I've had 2 children & would rather have that pain any day of the week than what I had with the infection. I was in the hospital for 2 & a half weeks while I learned how to walk again. I also had 6 weeks after that of strong as hell at home IV antibiotics. It was an ordeal that I don't wish on anyone. I'm sorry it's something you had to deal with as there is no pain like it & I understand, more than most, how bad it was.

May he get better ill keep him in my prayers everyone will
