Thank you so much. My heater control valve cracked, and it never really worked right anyway. I was able to use your video to be certain which hose connected to each port, since I am certain it was done wrong before.

Where does the vacuum hose run to. Looks gray . What triggers it? My heater does not work. Can not find gray house in service manual???

It tees into other ones under the intake hose

Vacuum line should go to the heater control panel. All the vents operate off vacuum so when you turn the dial from cold to hot that opens the valve

Just replaced this part on my 98 4.0 with a brand new unit and it started leaking again a month later.. About to bypass it completely

Just try again with another brand or OEM

Do you need to bleed it? or is it just a matter of replacing the valve and topping off the coolant??

You don't have to bleed it, but it creates a more controlled mess. If you just pop that valve off you'll get coolant all over.

Ok.. how much so? Ive refilled the coolant and ive drove it once?? I know the upper radiator hose was dripping where it connects ontopon@GibsonGarage

Just get rid of the heater control valve and run coolant full time through the heater core. When it’s on max ac air flow shouldn’t be through the heater

Why didn't you explain that the lower hose is a preformed hose. There is no way straight hose will bend to fit that.

@@GibsonGarage So you took straight 5/8 hose and bent it around to fit down to the outlet behind the idle tensioner?

You can use straight hose, just route it so that it is not kinked.
