Absolutely cannot beat kershaw autos for the price. I left my launch 5 on the roof of my work truck with the blade open, about an hour later I realized what I had done and began retracing my steps. I found my launch 5 in the road run over blade still open with only cosmetic damage. The knife had obviously been run over, yet fires and locks up just like new!

John doe The 3 looks like it would hide better in your pocket compared to the 1 because the 3 has that angled handle at the rear. I think I'm going to buy the 3 even though it's discontinued now and look into having an aftermarket pocket clip so it rides flush with my pocket and nothing sticks out . I believe if I bought the launch 1 and got an aftermarket clip allowing it to sit flush with the pocket it would look stupid on the knife because it would stick out past the angled piece of the back of a knife

I own the launch 3, same model as shown in your video. The launch 3 an spyderco native 5 are my edc knives. I do have the launch 3 with od green handles an black blade with s35vn on order, can't wait to get it.

I'm in the market now for an auto folder, my brother was just accepted into the MI State Police Academy, and I'd like to get him a solid auto knife that he can carry on him while on duty. This seems like it might be a good option.

The Launch series is a great set of knives. I picked up the Launch 1 at the annual Kershaw Warehouse Sale in 2016 and it's one of my best/favorite knives. Watching your video makes me want to pick up the Launch 3! :)

Kershaw makes solid autos, more so than my auto stryker from benchmade which has a lot of blade play. The rest of the kershaw line up is very hit or miss...but mostly miss, especially with their love affair with crappy 8cr13mov steel.

Have you had any issues with the pivot on the 1. Mine does not lock up all the way 30 percent of the time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

Dennis Cobb Try tightening the primary blade bolt just a hair or so and it won’t have that bounce that makes it not lock up. Did it on my Kershaw 6, had the same issue then someone put me up on the tightening and never had the blade fail to lock up again. Hope it helps.

I live in NYS, shitty knife laws. Gun laws too for that matter. No auto;s, no gravity assist, short blades, really sucks. I would love to move away, but my wife isn't about to move away from her kid and grand kid. For outdoorsmen, the gun and knife laws are really bad here. I guess that's what I get for living in a "liberal" state.
