@@nialldebuitlear That was the core reason that Braille was started, and I assume it was a similar thing with Revive. No, they don't have pro models, but they're smart enough to know that no one wants to buy their name, they know skaters will buy the gimmick. By pro, it pretty much means that they get free boards and earn a living off of skateboarding, without the hard work required to be a pro. One problem with Mr Thrash Dog, is that Nyjah had to make himself pro. I'm no Nyjah fan by any means but I know he is and will forever be one of the greatest hammer gods of all time. I don't hate on him, I just don't like him. I relate his success to Tony Hawk. Both became mainstream, attracted the kooks, but both are deeply in skateboarding and they've both been hated on for being commercial.

No it wasn't. They started in 2005 and their first pro-model was in 2021. They had a plan to sponsor a couple of skaters in the early days that fell apart but it wasn't going to be as board sponsor@@HG-bs3en

I don’t care to defend Dan, but this does seem a bit problematic in relation to Haley-who, in every Slap board or IG comment I’ve seen mention Dan’s penchant for dating younger women, is only ever referred to as “Dan’s girlfriend.” Would’ve been cool if GH had done something like, “speaking of Dan’s gf, Haley, she’s also a skate KZfaqr…” and gone from there. You know, considering (1) she’s one of the only women skaters I know of who’s doing the KZfaq thing and (2) she has better street clips than a number of the dudes on this list.

No Chad Cruso is honestly upsetting. His channel has been a massive help in me relearning transition tricks in my mid-30s and is one of the few channels where his trick instructions are actually well shown and explained without the grating personality. Plus his recent skating across America video is an excellent watch. EDIT: I feel like Zack Dowdy deserves a mention as well. He's a big advocate for mental health awareness in the skate community as well as the diy park scene.

He and Jason Park are a product of where they grew up. Johnny in small town Swiss Alps and Jason in Hawaii. Not a lot of concrete or rails in those places, so you focus on flat and creative. 32:43 Garret Ginner has a street part in the Erased video from ~2017 and the footage there is kind of insane. He did a grind trick (maybe a crook or a smith, don't remember) down an 18 stair. Definitely some very impressive skating. Unfortunately Luis Mora deleted this footage long ago since there was some drama with Vinnie Banh and him back then. Now I cannot find a reupload of this video anywhere on youtube. If I do, i'll post it here.

For the non stop posting schedule we have adapted to. The " challenge" style post and people's natural urge to show everyone not only can I do it too but I can do it better. Not sure why he chose a lot of these guys older parts. To me that feels like the guy at the park who can barely kick flip but says how he used to be really good. I will say for as much as he talked about it leading up, Dan corrigans latest part was very disappointing

Garrett Ginner is kinda like a Walmart version of Chris Chann he used to be a lot better. He kick flipped Wallenbug at 16 I think ahaha. In like 2015-2018 he had maybe a part or two sending 50-50s down massive triple kink rails haha

When I was learning ,the big gap skaters were the best. Then skating lost its balls and everyone does flatland. Easy to cut the 100 flips they miss and use the one they land ,try that on big gaps and grinds and they would take whatever they land first 😂 You got my respect now for the Froggy fresh shout out. 🤘

KZfaq’s biggest problem is that none of them can kickflip. Ben, johnny giger and John hill are the only ones with a decent kickflip. Everyone everyone else is in denial so they focus on other stuff. Watch lizard king’s kickflip from the berrics trickapedia, that’s a kickflip.

The youtube era is like the advent of digital home recording for bands: just because the means to produce with the same approximate production values as a major label band exist, that does not imply that your band should immediately record and release its set or album without some kind of external support or feedback. There is something to be said for the proper curation of an art form even as the technology has given a lot of upstarts previously unavailable opportunities.
