The order is based on impact/bang for your buck and also how long they have been into cars as more specialised gifts are further down the list. So the first in the list is the one I think will have a high impact/enjoyment factor for car fans if they have not done or have that item in the first place! Track Day Experience This was one of the best gifts I’ve had. There are many different packages out available by many different providers. Mine was a day with 4 different supercars with 2 laps for each car. My cars were at the Goodwood motor circuit in a Nissan GTR, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 430 and Audi R8 V8. I will do a review of my track day. The only couple of negative things I’d say is it may end up costing you more than the initial price once you add on proper insurance and photos packages. I’d also so my photos and videos were a bit disappointing. But watch my KZfaq channel to find out more!
Car posters/pictures wall art these are welcome anytime and can we really have enough of them? I prefer cool and moody photos or what I consider cool simple designs. Ideas below.
Large letters or neon signs for the garage My girl friend bought me some large manly metal Porsche letters for my garage! While I haven’t put them up yet - I do have some ideas as to how I want to display them… and I’m looking forward to doing it. You could buy some letters that become a project or buy a ready made neon sign or lit letters of their favourite car brand?
Special accessories for their specific car e.g. Porsche 911 umbrella for by the seat, maybe look at the official website for your car enthusiasts car and find that perfect accessory that may have been lost if it’s a classic car or just was an optional extra when the car was released?
Car magazine subscription I’ve been given one of these in the past which I really enjoyed and appreciated…often if you get a good introductory deal it can save a lot on the cost of that mag that they often buy nearly every month anyway.
Car key rings With all the wear and tear in pockets these often get tatty very quickly and start to look pretty naff! This is an inexpensive gift that can be really appreciated. Note that often you are better buying from the car company/garage themselves than online retailers that often sell for a hefty profit!
Car photography photo package This maybe an expensive item - but if they love their car that much then paying for a good car photographer to take some photos of their pride and joy would be a winner. It maybe tempting to get your mate Geoff who has just bought a very expensive camera to do it as a favour - but really it’s not the camera it’s the photographer that gets great images and car photography has it’s own set of unique challenges. Retro tracksuit tops or jackets for driving around enhancing that open top sports car experience! Many of us of a certain age love the nostalgia that we get from our cars. Maybe you can tap into that nostalgia by buying some clothes that look like they are from the era of the car your enthusiast drives? 20 years ago I hated the 70’s but now I can’t get enough of that era. My house is full of mid century style stuff and the clothes I think are so cool..admittedly my car is from the naughties but don’t take my advice too literally!😂👍 My Adidas tops are both retro and timeless?
Large LED light for the garage or small magnetic ones that stick to the car. If they tinker with their car at all then they will know how dark it is under there even in broad daylight. Illumination of some sort maybe a perfect gift to enable more enjoyable tinkering!??
