I have done a speedrun myself, ofcourse I am not a gm so I set my target to 1500. I have played a new account from 400 to 1500 and not encountered a single cheater this time. So I think it is better right now. On my main account however ( from new year to about July) I got my ratings refunded every 10th game or something like that. I remember how crazy that was. But right now I feel like it has become much better

If Simon plays sharp book lines, goes wrong and gives his opponent a natural attack that plays itself, many new players will follow through. Where were the unnatural "computer moves" that could only be understood by deep analysis of many variations?
@benjamiheras9294
@benjamiheras9294 Жыл бұрын
@@RobBCactive What you say it's just not true. You really think a 800 can play a perfect game and beat a gm in a 5 min game? 99.5 accuracy against a gm is impossible for an 800 ELO player, even for a 2300, come on. Not even a small mistake when there are millions of options. When an opponent plays sharp book lines, goes wrong and gives his opponent a "natural" attack, many new players would just hang a piece or miss the whole idea of the position; they don't play 20+ moves of engine theory, that's for sure.

@@SuperYtc1 - I watched a video about Mikhail Tal that showed that he did in effect cheat when he played Bobby Fischer. Apparently Fischer had a habit of writing down his next move before he made it, and since in those days, it was possible to call for a recess/break whenever you wanted one (the championship games went on for days sometimes), Tal would call for a break after noticing that Fischer's next move was going to be a killer. Obviously you couldn't call for a break after your opponent had moved - but Fischer's habit gave him an advantage.

I think the intention is not to give these players attention and so not to inspire others to follow suit, but we all know what’s going on. Hey Simon . super instructive chess video thanks. Hey look on the bright side of life. The lecture arrows are orange ginger color ! Yes the standard game report feature is such a great tool, When I see 0 inaccuracies it is a big red flag, unless its a short game won in under 20 moves say. Even if a very strong player was using an anonymous account I would expect some inaccuracies or at least 1. Although like you said there is always a chance opponents play all the top moves. Therefore next time or in the future it might be better to make an anonymous username too. Because I feel your username is like waving the proverbial in front of a angry bull. Its nice to see how calm you were. Strangely sometimes I play better with a little TILT. thanks mate.

The frightening thing is there might be an advantage to learning this way. Sitting in the cockpit with the engine, you can get a front row seat learning live how an engine dismantles your opponent while adding in a little input of your own. This seems far superior than standard methods of theoretical study. No one talks about this because they are either doing it, or they are worried about giving some people justification in their actions.

Just gotta love Simon! It says so mutch GOOD about him that even after a 700 playing 10 moves of theory he still is not explicitly suspecting the opponent of cheating. The ones that open terribly, then get the cheats on after 15 moves and pull out the miracle after being 3 pawns and a Knight down. I hate online chess because of this.

@@richiejbhoy1888 that is harder to detect and harder to prove. As I guess their accuracy level isnt insane, but they pull out the win through cheating.

@@lukebignell7846 if I analyse it, I can see they find the absolute best moves 5 6 moves in a row in the middle game. I just report them immediately. It's so obvious when you're playing them.

Spare a thought for those who lost to cheaters before detection was easily provable. Gave up correspondence chess 25 years ago when my 2508 peak was obliterated by the first generation of computer cheaters. Decades of study and improvement countered by arseholes with a mediocre program running to many ply over a few days each move.

2:35 "...the Italian variation of the Ruy Lopez". But since the Ruy Lopez is Bb5, this is not an accurate label, is it? This is the Italian Game, not the Ruy Lopez. (Specifically: Italian Game, Two Knights Defense, Max Lange Attack)

Unfortunately the boom in chess brought about by Queen's Gambit and the likes of Hikaru means that all their acolytes are now getting online eager to emulate their heroes and then crying when they run into people who have actually read a few chess books, so they turn to Stockfish so they can laugh at their opponents and shout 'Game Ovah!!' after each perfect win.

you had a check with the rook, and he had to go back with his rook to block the check because if he doesn't then he gets checkmated, and after he goes back you trade with him, then you take his rook in g8

Please do more videos around the 800 level. I'm trying to understand how they can still be rated less than 1000 when they are winning games by cheating. Do they intentionally loose games so they can cheat in other games?

"Hopefully" in your case, they play stupidly the top engine move with 99% accuracy, and then that is easier to catch them.

It always baffles me, people I guess want to play for the satisfaction of a victory even if they don't earn it. Cheating on computer games in general is just getting so old. The worst part is, in some of my games at a low level, I play against people who I could never prove cheat but feels like they use an engine some of the time. For me, I'm most likely paranoid but at the same time, people just don't like to lose and will stop at nothing.
