Since the show was cancelled, I've had to make up my own ending to the Joshaya story just to give myself some closure. The scene that I've made up in my mind is this: Riley and her friends are graduating high school. They're all dressed up in their caps and gowns. They go through the ceremony, and afterward, they go to see their families. While Riley and the rest of the gang are hugging their families and being congratulated, Maya stands off to the side, looking slightly sad, because, once again, her mother has had to miss something that was really important to Maya. All of a sudden, she spots Josh walking towards her with a bouquet of flowers. He hands them to her as he says "Congratulations!" She just looks at him bewildered and says "Josh, what are you doing here?" He replies, "I told you I was in it for the long game." And then he kisses her. And they lived happily ever after. The end.

Some day Maya becoming Riley's aunt. That would be weird to see.

It took me awhile for me to get it but.... maya and lucas didnt like each other really. Lucas didnt want to hurt Maya and so when he thought that, he was like i think i might like her and Maya thought that Lucas was really nice, thinking i might like him. The truth is they just loved each other like bffs. Lucas has always loved Riley and Maya has always loved Josh.

Wait, is this Maya and Josh's first real conversation with each other? Wow... You can also see the maturity in Maya too now when she's talking with Josh, well I could see it in Season 2 The Tell Tale-Tot episode too, but this is their first real conversation that she has with Josh that are less flirty and a bit more serious. I can also see that Josh is really starting to see Maya in a new light here, even though he still seems to try to get used to that age difference between them but I can see he's getting to see her in a different way from here which is a good process :)

The show ended awhile ago and I still admire Joshaya for what they stand for. Think about it, a lot of relationships tend to have some kind of age gap, even when you're the same age because your birthdays could be apart by months or days. Now to lead into my point, I'm bi and I have a girlfriend. She is the light of my life and she's only 2 years younger than me. But I just don't care because my love for her is so strong that I can't contain it all the time. Joshaya is a prime example that age differences will happen, but it's just a number if it's real love and understanding of how the other person feels.

You know looking at this episode as an adult....who has been through these feelings of first love already.....I think Maya got the better man. I did ship Maya and Lucas, don't get me wrong, but in my humble opinion, if you are a guy and you have to choose between two girls who you love equally, that's not really love. That's a crush...that's infatuation....but that's not like Cory and Topanga love. If you love someone, it shouldn't be a competition. Lucas did the same thing Cory did when he was comparing Topanga and Jennifer....Lucas and the other boys measured his love for Maya and Riley with jelly beans and they came up even. The difference is, when Cory did this even WHEN it came out even, he knew his heart belonged to Topanga. There was no competition. Josh spent all that time trying not to love Maya, but then he realized she was a girl worth waiting for.....a girl who loved deeply and whose loyalty to her friends couldn't be broken....a girl who was wise beyond her years when it came to understanding the complicated nature of love. . That's why he was willing to play the long game for her and say "maybe our love IS right....its just not right now....but I am willing to wait for it to be right because I care about you. Notice if you will when Lucas chooses Riley, he DOESN'T have that same feeling. He doesn't say he loves her. He just says he chooses her.
