@@undyingsoul3949 the dub lines I find better then the Japanese anime ones, as they actually tend to be closer to the original manga, lmao. I think dragon ball is one of those few and far between anime where watching the sub can kill the experience.

This is why Trunks (the future version of him) is among my favorite anime characters ever. He’s not dragging out the fight like Goku to satisfy his Saiyan battle lust. He’s not taking too long to torture his opponent for his own ego like Vegeta. And there’s no loss of control like Gohan. He just comes in, gives Frieza this work and turns the so-called “emperor of the universe” into the world’s nastiest chopped salad. And he did it with hardly any effort at all. All hail Prince Trunks, the Saiyan of the Future. 🙇♀️ 🙇♂️ 🙇

9:51 One of my favorite moments in the DB saga. His whole life, Frieza has never known fear. He had no reason to. Everyone else was afraid of HIM. He thought he couldn’t even be hurt, so why be afraid? Then along came Goku, a humble Saiyan warrior from Earth and turned his entire world upside down. Literally left him scarred in every way from his defeat. Even now, with a more powerful body and blinded by revenge, one look at this mysterious new fighter with the Super Saiyan glow and traits, and all he can remember is the sheer terror he felt looking into Goku’s eyes on Namek. Now, for the second time in his life, Frieza is feeling an emotion he has never known before: *FEAR.*

# 001 Out of all the saiyans we've seen transform for the first time, Future Trunks to this day is still my favorite. I liked how when he powered up, he has the glow, his eyes go into the trademark green color, but his hair doesn't go blond yet. It's as if not only they're hyping this up but also draws in the audience disbelief that someone else can go Super Saiyan while retaining Trunks's mysterious nature. Then when his hair finally goes into the blonde color we all know and love. At that point, the realization finally sets in for everyone! It's as if it's emulating the entire transformation sequence from Frieza's perspective. From pure disbelief, to shock, and then the fear setting in. (or excitement in our case) The animators truly nailed this scene superbly.

The trauma he went through, along with his no bullshit attitude when it comes to him facing his enemy, and to top off him having the best parts of his parents- AMAZING character. Such an amazing episode. Crazy thing is toriyama had never planned this arc. It was suppose to end after namek but he was told he needed to continue. And the man brings out this crazy twist. Every kid that watched dbz was freaking out at school the next day.

I remember Funimation putting footage from this episode into the opening animation back in 1996. I had already seen pictures of Trunks, so that only made the anticipation for the next story arc greater.

Yo! I remember hearing this character's claim to being a Super Saiyan and thinking, 'But how? I thought Goku, Vegeta (and technically Gohan) are the only Saiyans left!' When Madison said about Trunks that he might be a creation of Brief, I thought that would've make sense given the nature of the Androids... But Toriyama unfortunately doesn't use the same powers trope.

Also I don't know if anybody else has noticed this but if you really look at trunks in certain shots he has his father's face just with different eye color and head shape. But the eyes the nose and the mouth are on point especially when he's angry
