Our queen TAEYEON is the leader of this legendary group that made many people discover Kpop. Check her solo debut [TAEYEON - I feat. Verbal Jint] and try to not fall in love! Girls Generation are also known as SNSD and while some girls didn't renew their contracts in the end of 2017 the company said the group isn't dead. They're on a hiatus. Let's hope for a comeback out of nowhere!

“I Got A Boy” really changed the game when it came to experimental music in Kpop. It’s a pioneer in itself just as much as GG themselves. Legends only. Please also check out their Dream Concert performance of this song if you have the time. Thanks for the reaction. 👏🏼👏🏼

No 140 is not referring to the time stamp. 140 is a music term and it refers to the beat. So when Jessica says "lets bring it back to 140" she is saying lets speed it back up and resume the 140 times beat, because previously they had slowed it down and now they wanted to bring it back up. Girls Generation/SNSD debuted in 2006 so they have been around for 12 years now. They originally had 9 members but within the last year several of their members decided not to renew their contracts and to leave the group, so now they are a group of 5. They are one of the first Kpop groups to put out an all English song for the American market. You should react to their song "The Boys" its originally in Korean but they made an all English version and they promoted in the U.S. and even performed on talk shows such as the Late Show with David Letterman and Live with Regis and Kelly.

"Let's bring it back to 140" refers to the bpm (beats per minute) at that point in the song. The "I gotta boy" section.

Girl's Generation is one of the og kpop star groups imo, they're one of the first kpop groups i saw. I wouldn't say that they're the female BigBang though. I would say they're more the female Super Junior, and 2NE1 the female Bigbang. You should react of Mr. Mr. and 2ne1's I Am The Best of you haven't yet!

when it comes to accomplishments for their generation of kpop artists, they are the female counterparts of big bang. 2NE1 was close but like most girl groups, were not that much of a competition for girls generation in terms of accomplishments. I think they are more awarded than big bang. correct me if i am wrong though. Twice is getting close though.

Chichetaram Ruth achievement wise maybe, I'm not sure. I was thinking more actual style wise of the group. Id say the music itself is more similar between GG and SuJu and between 2ne1 and Big Bang. That's just my opinion though.

Yeah you guys found the OG queens of kpop. Big Bang were like the kings lol. [as far as second generation kpop is concerned]. You guys should react to girls generation “the boys”. They were ahead of the game tbh and were the first international girl group after wonder girls [first generation kpop] to get a spotlight in America [like on the late night shows and stuff like BTS are doing now], but sadly with no social media like now they didn’t get as big as they couldve been sadly internationally. However they are to always be respected and are known now everywhere. Love everything you said at the end brilliant review.

One thing you need to know about Girls Generation is that they’re the princesses of Kpop! Not even joking, they had kpop at the palm of their hands. That’s how popular they were. They’re still my favorite girl group of all time and I’m so happy to call myself a Sone 💖

Thank you for reacting to Girls' Generation. They are the group that got me into kpop. GG or known as SNSD (So Nye Shi Dae) is like a "textbook" for kpop girlgroup that means almost every kpop girlgroup learn from them and wants to be like them. They are a very versatile group they've tried a lot of genre whether it's cute, innocent, powerful, girl crush, elegant mature concept etc. SNSD is very well all rounded group they have one of the best voclist in kpop, one of the best dancer, visual but they are not so much into rap. Their dischography is amazing every album is gold, their non-title track and ballad songs are great. They have one of the best personality in kpop. Overall music, vocal, choreography, visual, personality/variety show, acting, composing & writing lyrics, fashion, awards they've been there. I'm so proud of them.

They are the only girl group to de-throne male artists in mix gender awards categories, so yes they are the Queens. They been in the game 10 years so their catalog is huge and diverse. Ya'll should def take the time to check them out. You'll see their influence on the other girl groups that ya'll enjoy

Not sure if anyone brought it up already, but the "bring it back to 1:40" didn't refer to only the time code in the song. It's also bringing it back to 140bpm. Double cool.

The first KPOP group I ever saw was Jinusean. They did a remake of How Deep is Your Love and Phone Number. I think it was around 2006 or so. Also, for female vocals Ailee is amazing. Loved her song Insane.

Rob, there actually is a gender bias. Male KPOP groups tend to have female fans and female groups have male fans, in Korea. The female fans go all out and crazy to buy the male group albums so basically... Top male groups sell about 500k-700k per album (except EXO and BTS, they sell above a million per album cos they are extremely popular). Top female groups sell like 150k-200k. But girls generation was basically the only female group that consistently sold albums in the male range for YEARS. They have been on top for like 10 years. Twice is another girl group Koreans are obsessed with and though they are a relatively new girl group, they sell lots of albums and win so many awards. They will be giving girls generation a run for their money. BLACKPINK has the potential but they have not released much. THIS IS JUST BY THE WAY. ⚔⚔⚔⚔⚔

we love the second best selling kpop group of all time, asia number one girl group and south korea’s national girl group. i recommend you react to their song The Boys, there’s an english version and the remix version is with Snoop Dogg but it’s only audio.

CHECK OUT MORE SNSD :))) literally this song was to bring out more experimental music for Kpop honestly. Also CHECK OUT THEIR SOLO MUSIC TOO and their SUB UNIT TTS (it’s their main vocalists): AND THEY ALL HAVE SOLO CAREERS TOO , they have never repeated a concept if you look at each album they’re all different
