Give Me An Answer with Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle

10 жыл бұрын

Cliffe Knechtle has a good dialogue with students at Texas State University. Recorded in November 2012.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This was an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Because most of the people who ask that question lives in a rich country or doesnt have any idea what poverty is. Therefore, the dont know that evil culture exists. They thought that everyone agrees to what the Ally decided on what morality is just because the won the war. Therefore, they decide on what morality is. And by "they" they thought everyone... Hence, they kept on saying "us"... If ony they would respect others opinion and culture as well then they will understand what moral relativism really is.. but they dont... typical.

askcliffe What do you think about consequential ethics? The idea that we need to judge how our actions will impact the people around us? I get my ethics very simply. I enjoy feeling good and I dont enjoy feeling bad. I have also noticed that many other people share this idea. Why do you need God to make the following statement? I know it hurts to be punched in the face and I know that it sucks to lose money. Therefore, I will not walk up to someone on the street and punch them in the face and take their wallet. Where does God come in? Thanks!

According to the scriptures, the universe that God brought into being was indeed good, but when man began to question God's infinite authority, and demanded that he live by his own finite authority instead, God granted that demand: As a result of living under your own limited authority, your ability to enjoy without God's help is limited, and your ability to fend off suffering without God's help is also limited. God wants to help you, but as long as you demand autonomy, you suffer at your own hands, against your will, because your autonomy and power are inherently inferior to God's autonomy and power, and your will is inherently inferior to God's will.

So concerning natural evil- before the fall God went about staying the movement of tectonic plates, deflecting meteorites, dousing or preventing flames from lightning, ensuring the calm flow of volcanic lava rather than allowing violent explosions and so on? Strange picture that presents. And absurd degree of certainty of what cannot be known.

Yes, your above statements do present a strange picture, and are definitely absurd: Fortunately, your bizarre and absurd statements were simply made up by you, and don't appear in any of God's revealed scriptures, so in addition to being bizarre and absurd, your above statements are also a strawman logical fallacy. Cheers! =)

the 3 reasons i know why evil still exists is because.. 1. the work (spreading the gospel) that needs to be done isnt finished yet. 2. ties in with the first, that everyone needs to get a opportunity to be saved. 3. evil hasnt fully manifested. sin needs to be unveiled to its full glory so as to understand why people who are going to hell merit that punishment. free will plays a big part on why the world is still evil. even nature is affected by our evil works. diseases can be made and happen because of bad decisions and even natural disasters can be manipulated. not to mention that the land was already cursed. god is a just god and everyone will be judged according to not only what theyve done, but also how much light theyve been shown, along with the measuring of the heart and mind. the point is that god is real and so is the coming judgement. dont gamble with your life cause you think youll be fine. read pascals wager. hell wont be a good place but heaven will have eternal joy free of sorrow. its a no brainer for me.

But the bible/gospel tells you that you are a sinner. Not a good person. So by default you feel bad for being a human. Me on the other hand I dont to evil things. I live to certain standards like not hurting others. Then comes a preacher with the gospel and tells me I´m a sinner and deserve to be tortured for eternity simply for not agreeing with his belief. Thats messed up.

Z4r4sz No I dont feel bad for being a human. Im sorry to god for how Ive messed up so much but I know that every human being is created with this sense of greatness. We are all created in the image of god. So we have great value. God saw that we were worth dying for... that we have unfathomable value. When you unpack the message of the gospel, it is an amazing thing
@mrm64

Z4r4sz From a biblical point of view, we are human. But really, only Satan deserves to go to hell for his rebellion and quote to pervert everything that is good. “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness" God said in Genesis. Meaning we were (are) humans in God's image, originally w/out sin. But after our own rebellion and fall, the sinful nature took manifest, and has since been passed down. Now many think that because we are human and we have a sinful nature that we can't do good, or live right or we should hate ourselves. But no! "Jesus acknowledged that someone could perform good acts and yet still have an evil sin nature when he said, “What man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:9-11, emphasis added)." (gotquestions) We all have a conscience to know right from wrong. To fight the sinful nature we have Jesus. He is the bridge out of sin and from the devil's clutches in hell. To believe in Jesus and that is the Son of God and your Savior, is to walk over the bridge He made with a cross, 2,000 years ago. And the bridge is free to every breathing human being. It's like a free ticket. Sinful nature may still be in us, but with Christ's power and conviction, we can overcome what we started. Witness right here. Hope I helped in some way, at least from a biblical pov. More info here (www.gotquestions.org/sin-nature.html)

Just looking like someone else doesnt give us value. And our appearance isnt very flattering for a god. How do you get the idea that a god thinks we are worth dying for? He didnt die. He sacrificed himself to himself to create a loophole for a rule that he created in the first place. And even this rule is pointless because a just system would get every rapist and murderer into hell. Not into heaven if they repent. Or get children into hell for using gods name as a cuss word. Thats even more messed up. He forgives rape but not cursing his name? Its like watching a rapist taking a child into the next room, he closes the door and says when you´re done, I´m going to punish you. What an awful and cruel being. If any human would do something like that, he would get slapped with a baseballbat across the face. Now you probably say, "he´s a god, his moral standards are way beyond our understanding." No! Only a moron comes up with excuses like that to justify fear on children or murder of innocent people simply for being not part of your religion. Keep your immoral rules to yourself. Even if your god exists, which he didnt proove sufficiently, he is not worth worshipping. *spits*

Z4r4sz one thing you have to understand is that god has very high standards. his standards are totally different to societys standards. what is good to you..? to you, stealing might depend on the value of the item, its probably just physical for some people. others might think, if theyre stealing to merely 'survive' then thats ok. but downloading 1 song from the internet without paying is already stealing. you might say adultery is physically fornicating with someone, but jesus says that if you look at a woman with lust, then you have already commited adultery in your heart. and many would think that murder is a physical act where someone has to die, but god said that if you hate your brother, then youve killed him already. if youve said 'god d*mn it', or 'jesus f*kn christ', or 'holy sh*t', then youve commited blasphemy, because youve used the lords name in vain. the 'bible people' tell you youre bad because we are bad. we dont go by societys standards, but by gods standards. the 10 commandments is there for our conviction, to keep us in check by knowing that we are sinners and not good. because if you are 'good' then you dont need a saviour. all of mankind has sinned. but the only difference between christians and nonchristians is conviction. we know and acknowledge the fact that we do need a saviour because are sinners. thinking you dont need a god or a law to make you good goes all the way back to the original sin. it was in heaven when lucifer became too proud and contested gods law and authority. thats why pride is one of mans biggest problems today for conversion. we got that from lucifer.

Fox's resident psychiatrist, Keith Ablow, is also an author. So I'm afraid just being a psychiatrist who's authored a book or two doesn't impress me with the value of the thoughts being expressed. You do, however, go on to characterize your Connecticut psychiatrist as "brilliant". Are we just supposed to take your word for that? Tell me, Mr. Knechtle, is it even possible for a dull intellect to recognize a brilliant one? Or are you claiming to be sufficiently brilliant to recognize brilliance in someone else? The very title of your ministry, "Give Me An Answer", gives the game away. Give me an answer wrapped in an impenetrable mystery, so I don't have to think for myself.

Bronxboy47 Fascism is a type of governmental system, but I am not a member of any government, so you are wrong about that. Also, it is not possible to "dehumanize" an animal because animals are not human in the first place, just like human beings are not animals. Of course, you are a very confused hypocrite because you think that human beings are animals, and yet you cry like a little girl when someone calls you an animal. The distinguishing feature of the human being is Theism and devotion to God: Animals lack the intelligence to embrace Theism and devotion to God, and thus, by your animal consciousness, you are nothing more than an animal in a humanoid body. Also, I am done with you, thanks to G+: I shall never see any more of your idiotic nonsense, but feel free to continue demonstrating your extreme stupidity by continuing to argue with yourself after I leave -- I certainly won't see any of it. @@bronxboy47 i was 7 years of age living in a finca (estate) previously owned by some dark individuals, we had to take down some disturbing photos all around the walls which suggested they opened themselves to malevolent forces. About a yeat later we had a large gathering of friends and family members, at around 12am a girl began to scream and convulse violently, this went on for about an hour until our preacher arrived and began praying for her passionately, a few minutes later she finally calmed down. Maybe you haven't had the opportunity to expereince something like that but i can assure you that demon possession is very real. In fact it happened again to my cousin a few years later which made us move out of that place, same reactions as the previous girl and it almost sounded like she was speaking in tounges and at times would plead for someone to help her get this force off her, she told us it felt like someone evil was on top of her and wouldn't let go. This was in colombia south America by the way.

The question is, can we truly say and look at ourselves and others as innocent, believe that we are innocent people! One must disregard original sin in order to call oneself and others innocent. Our so-called innocence Crucified Jesus, it makes us all murderers and liars, that's how innocent we all are, our common inherited sin which is the fundamental cause of all the sins we commit here on earth, we need to be freed from our sin, guilt and shame in and through Jesus Christ! Unless KC can prove god is transmitting his personal thoughts direct through KC's voice box these are little more than KC's own retarded opinions. If god loves us why put us through the misery of not personally knowing him. That is like your mom saying, "Honey your dad who gave you life loves you so much, he is going to hide from you so you'll never meet him until after you die. But in the meantime you must worship him even though you don't know where or who he is or he'll send you to hell when you die." What kind of a mean and cruel father would do that to his own children?
