Cliffe Knechtle has a great conversation with college students at a campus in the southwest US.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

YES actually speaking the truth is Love! In bible says Proverbs 27:5-7 5"Open rebuke is better than secret love 6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; 7 "but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. It says in verse 5 that telling the truth are act more love than a secret love! Meaning all the truths representing love to one another! We are not giving one another a false informations that can effect their life! And it is written in the 10 commandments "you shall not bear false witness against your neighborhood! Then unfaithful to our wife or in husband and boyfriends,girlfriends sometimes it brings loneliness and depression to their life! Or not honest to your business partner! It will break your friendships, Personality! So being honest and telling the truth are love language🙏☺️

I assume this is addressed to the general viewership. I mostly listen to apologists to consider their arguments for myself, but it also helps when talking to others. This kind of open, reasoned approach has allowed me to broach theological topics with people who would be repulsed by a rote recitation of doctrine. It also counters the ‘religious thrall’ image held by the scientific materialist society.

They want to find a scapegoat to blame it on. I'm tired of this. I'm fine with forgiving but people who love to see you suffer and do evil to you don't care about your forgiveness and usually these people don't care about truth either. That's just how they are.

As a secularist, optimism is self-deception, so says my social psychology textbook. We Christian optimists are self-deceiving, the Atheist declares, because for them, there is no vision for an eternally blessed future. A vision itself is a precursor to a conscious. What does the Atheist admit? They know that without God, we are just responding to stimuli. We know in our hearts that there's more to it than that! We have not followed cunningly devised fables. The prophecies foretold were not slight of hand. For the Jews who followed prophecy, God gave them signs. For all, Jesus demonstrated His love by the obedience to the cross. This defies all human logic.

People want to defend their sin, their sinful right to do just as it pleases them! That way they can stay their own gods on their own terms that personally suit them after their own taste, in order to maintain what they believe is their control over their own lives! Our inherited sin holds us all guilty of what our fallen nature did to Jesus, and it is precisely this condition in us from birth that causes us all to sit in the same boat of guilt from birth! No one is better than the other and vice versa, and we humans in our own darkness have trouble admitting in the light of God's True Living Word in what condition we all are in, in our common turned away state from God! Jesus came on His loving and caring rescue mission to reunite us with Himself, to what we originally in His will were meant to be in Him in the first place! He is God Almighty, our Holy creator, creator of all things, loving and Juste, and He has the right to have His Law and standard, His righteous way with us.Jesus wants to reunite us with Himself, to what we were originally meant to be in Him! Ultimately, he is the meaning of Life because He is the Creator and Lord of Life, and for this very thing Jesus came, to reunite us with himself again, to be with Him forever! But we can deny ourselves His extended salvation by not accepting Him, not wanting to have anything to do with Him! Ultimately it is our choice to decide if we want to remain prisoners in our inherited sin, or be uprooted by Him from our own darkness and guilt, and grafted in into his Light instead! In His Grace we can be forgiven were His Righteousness and Light will dwell in us by Jesus Holy Spirit!Jesus did not come to point out to us our hopelessness in the midst of our guilt, but came to bring us home to himself again, in fulfillment and victory through his paid fulfillment for our Salvation! Only through Jesus Righteousness we can be reconciled with Father in Heaven! There is no other way to reach Gods Light but through Christ Jesus! Either His Crucifixion will set us free by humbly acknowledging and confessing Him for who He is, or our inner unchanging state, which we ourselves from the beginning in our disobedience have set ourselves on course to eternal doom! Jesus is not to blame for what we have done in our own sinful will and desire, we are!, but He finds no joy or pleasure in reproaching us for what became of us in our disobedience, so God decided to save all who will not deny His extended Salvation in our place for us!

Excellent discussion. Cliffe says that unless there is a God, all our views are simply relative, but that does not mean that it's ok to do whatever we want.. we're all governed by rules, regardless of country, faith, custom, etc,we all know there are rules in life. Let's say for example that there was no Christianity/Judaism.. let's say Jesus didn't come down to planet earth to die for our sins ( i don't believe he existed anyway), but for the sake of this argument lets say Judaism and Christianity did not exist. There have been lots of civilizations that existed without the Judeo/Christian God. They all had rules to live by.. in order for any society to exist, you must have rules so that we can live in relative peace. I think that mankind is clever enough to have, at some point, realized that the concept of God is not necessary for us to live in peace. Mankind has looked up to the sky for answers when the ground shook and killed people, or when floods drowned communities. In the 21st century we know exactly how and why those things happen, .. they don't involve God(s) .. they are 100% natural. We've worked out why things like earthquakes and floods occur.. we don't need to sacrifice animals and humans to unseen Gods anymore. As I said, we are a pretty clever species.

@@saintpaulofyoutube4416 Isn't that being honest in saying I can't be certain? .. Even when I say that the laws of nature cannot be broken.. I'm leaving myself open to be proven wrong.. and you know exactly what I'm referring to when I say that miracles DO NOT OCCUR. I'm not talking about how the universe came into being, I'm talking about the kind of things that Christians claim on a daily basis... that God listened to their prayer, and healed them of all kinds of ailments.. cancers, back pain, headaches, you name it. We can do a scientific test to confirm or deny certain ailments can be healed by God. But no healer would put himself up for it because I think deep down he knows that certain ailments cannot be healed, especially by prayer. As I've told you on various occasions saintpaul, that is where your cognitive dissonance kicks in... rather than admit that God cannot heal certain types of incurable illnesses ( the clue is in the name 'incurable'), you will come up with what you see as a rational reason as to why God doesn't heal certain ailments... when the most rational explanation is that God almost certainly does not exist. Now I can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he doesn't exist, as I've said over and over.. no one can prove that God does not exist. If they could, somebody far cleverer than me would have done it by now. And by the same token, no Christian could ever prove that God does exist beyond a reasonable doubt to the non-believing community. Could God reveal himself to me at some point?, of course, it's highly unlikely ( because i don't believe he exists), but if you are right, and you believe he exists, then it stands to reason, does it not, that he could reveal himself to me in some form or other.. I accept that remote possibility. Does that mean I'm being duplicitous somehow? I don't believe so. If someone said to me that they were certain that aliens from another planet *do not exist* , but that there's a tiny remote 0.000001% chance that they could, .. I would not regard that person as a liar or being deliberately deceitful, ... that seems perfectly rational to me.. he does not believe in aliens.. he says they categorically DO NOT EXIST, but he's open to the very very very remote possibility they could. I would not demand that he must prove to me that aliens do not exist, it's impossible to prove, isn't it? Thats the situation I'm in with Gods existence.. if he shows up in some form and reveals himself to me, I will adjust my position regarding his existence. As it stands, I don't think he exists. I can't claim with 100% certainty he doesn't exist. Even if I say that miracles DO NOT OCCUR, that doesn't follow that God does not exist.. as many Christians have told me.. God works in mysterious ways, God has his reasons for not performing miracles. How can our pea-like brains compete with Gods all-knowing brain? When you put it like that, we don't stand a chance to figure out why God won't do certain things.

Evolutionary Morals. Where is the origination? The standards?
@Globeguy1337
@Globeguy1337 4 жыл бұрын
Brucev7 Because of differences in worldview, the word ‘morals’ has a different meaning to any consistent evolutionist than to theists. I believe the evolutionary position is that animal groups that had instinctual behavioral tendencies that promoted the propagation of the group would prevail over those groups that did not, so this would lead to nearly universal presence of such instincts. The source of these instincts is proposed to be random mutation of structures (like the brain) that effect instinctual tendencies. With this process, beneficial behaviors would be added and refined in the population. As such, the atheistic evolutionist would consider ‘morality’ to be the set of behaviors that best promotes the ‘wellbeing’ of the species or group of organisms. In this sense, however, it has no prescriptive power and no responsibility to obey that instinct, but it would also allow other members of the population to ‘remove’ any member that did not benefit the group by following it, so it sort of becomes a ‘might makes right’ situation, though that does make the meaning of ‘right’ rather tenebrous. Edit: I suppose this is also why ‘morality’ and ‘conscience’ or ‘what I feel is right’ are treated as synonymous; as those are instinctual behavioral preferences.

Jacob Fongemie True, it is good to have both, but I’m talking about the basis of the moral code. Compassion-based morality adds a great deal of subjectivity to the moral framework if held as primary, as it depends upon the assignment of sympathy for adjudication of any dispute. If such sympathy were held primary, the poor robbing the rich would be moral, since people would have more compassion for the poor man; instead of being impartial, compassion-based codes rely upon partiality for their decisions.
