Program 1722 ................... - Bad Things Happen .............. Suffering/ Justice .......Religions.......
Recorded at Texas State University - October 2021.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

To anyone who is skeptical of Jesus, I'm right there with you. I spent many, many years of my life as an ardent atheist. However I came to a point in my life when I started asking big questions. I was a husband and father and trying to do the best job I could there, but if I was being intellectually consistent with my worldview I had to ask, what is the actual point, to any of it? I was applying certain moral values on my life that I could not justify, why not commit adultery if it feels good and I can get away with it? Why should I not put myself first? Why shouldn't I complain that I don't get enough free time to myself? Why am I trying so hard to even want to do good if ultimately life's meaning is only subjective to me? At a moment of absolute desperation I remembered a friend of mine who did the "Bible thing" and through holding to what it said I had seen him go from a down and out waster to living a life of incredible joy, peace and happiness. So in that moment I prayed, "okay, let's do it. If this is untrue then the worst thing that could happen is I live a life doing good to others, however if it is true, then it's TRUE" so I remembered the prayer I knew about from him, and I genuinely put my very meagre amount of faith and understanding in Jesus. You know what happened? Over the next few days I started to feel completely different. The way I saw the world changed, the exhaustion I felt at life lifted, I had this strange new innate desire to do good to people and I experienced a level of compassion I never knew before, certain things I used to enjoy that were harmful to me I no longer desired the same. I had no idea what was happening to me and it was not my active decisions that were bringing this new change about. I had always heard the term "born again" but thought that was nothing more than an evangelical buzz word. Turns out being born again is exactly the thing I was experiencing and was completely in line with what the Bible said. I was always someone who asked people to prove God existed and then I would believe, I was the one who would like to make fun of the "Jesus people", I revelled in how stupid and unenlightened they must be living in their dark age nonsense. Turns out God loves me enough to make it undeniable, He didn't give me some generic all encompassing evidence that would be applicable to everyone. He dealt with me on an individual level giving me a unique experience. I was a victim of childhood abuse, I held such hatred, anger and hurt towards my abuser that it consumed me. One of the first things I felt God ask me was, "if you want to do this, you gotta walk the talk, you need to forgive them". It took all that I had but I decided to trust in God and the moment I genuinely forgave, all the pain, anger, sadness, misery and hatred left me, I literally felt this heavy burden physically move from being draped over me to being lifted away. I was free and a strange thing occured, I felt nothing but compassion and love for the that person. As soon as I was able I got in touch and forgave them in person. This may not constitute as evidence to some, but you don't know who I was. Nothing short of the power of God through salvation could have changed me for I was broken beyond belief. It's good enough for me. God bless ✌️😊

@@ChrisTheKing172 there's quite a few things that go on. I feel it's helpful to separate the constant experience of God from things like answered prayers. On a normal day I have this sense of fullness, joy and peace. I look at the sky and am filled with awestruck wonder at creation knowing that to even see it is to behold Jesus' handiwork. The Bible says that he's the Word of God so anything I see in nature according to scripture is made by him. Overall it's this sense that I'm in a constant relationship and closeness with Him. Very helpful on a tough day with my 3 sons 😅 In terms of how God helps me practically, well from experience I only realise after he's done the thing. Some things take time, some others right away, some things happen in a very surprising way. It's a process of trust. What I can say is that anything He does do, He does in His own way and it's usually perfectly tailored to what I needed. Never what I wanted. Always with the result of building me up as a Christian and drawing me closer to Him, increasing wisdom, knowledge and experience. It's kind of a hard one to pin point. I've got lots of stories but each one is unique so it's hard to give a general answer 👍✌️😊

@@Given_Grace That is indeed a good story Given Grace, i have no reason to doubt you are being sincere, and if placing all your trust in Jesus has had a positive effect on your life, thats all well and good. I also have this compelled compassion to help other people, i devote my life to helping others, and, like you, i find it incredibly uplifting and empowering, but I also retain my sense of reason and doubt, .. i think it's very important to question things which you truly doubt. Christianity played a massive part in my life, and I always had a ton of questions which I struggled to find satisfactory answers to.. it was only when I was able to take a step back and look at things from a different perspective that convinced me that that this whole story we are led to believe about Christ, was in fact not true, that was like an epiphany moment in my life, .. it was transformational to me, much like your experience.. it's changed my life for the better. If the Gospels help people to lead a better life and to be kind and compassionate, that is all well and good, and if belief in Jesus has helped you, again, that's all well and good. But for me, it was coming to the realization that Jesus is highly fictionalized, probably based on a real person was like a Eureka moment. Transformational.

How do we figure out what stories are true and what stories are not true? It has to do with making an analogy with stories that we can believe happened, and an analogy with stories that we believe did not happen. And use the thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions of stories that humans have created, both true and not true. Do we think the stories of the moon landings are true? Do we think the stories of Star Trek are true? Why do we think the moon landings and coming back to the Earth actually happened? Because Neil Armstrong was a great pilot of jets, Buzz Aldrin had a PhD from MIT in orbital mechanics. The Scientists and Engineers knew how to build rocket ships. Why might we think that the stories of Star Trek are not true? Aside from the timeline problems. Because the stories don't contain knowledge on how to make Warp Drive Star Ships, Photon Torpedoes, Transporters. In order for us to think the stories of Star Trek are true, we would have to be able to build a Warp Drive Star Ship and fly to Vulcan and look and see if there is anybody there that looks like Spock. Then we might think that Star Trek is true. It is all about knowledge vs story claims. In order for someone to turn a 3 day old stinky body to new again, that being would have to know a lot about the human body, about blood, skin, bones, eye balls, liver, heart, etc.. Did Jesus tell us anything about the human body? Anything about first aid that we humans can use? Anything about CPR? Anything that would start Science to research into starting Medical Science so humans can build hospitals, medical research facilities and ways to prevent diseases naturally? Jesus of Christianity, if a God, would know about valuable inventions for humans that we could benefit from. So was Jesus walking around Judea and saw all the people that could not read or write and not think maybe there should be printing presses to make books and newspapers? Or about eyeglasses so more people could read? Why would real God do Supernatural healings of humans, but not tell humans about the ways to prevent disease naturally? Look up where Jesus and Disciples did not wash hands before meals. The reason given in the Christian Bible was something Religious, but this would have been a great time to give a lecture on microbiology and the importance of cleanliness before meals. Does your God watch from heaven and not care about how many people would not die to diseases that could be prevented if only your God spoke up? Could Jesus of Christianity pass a High School Science test? All Jesus of Christianity gives us is Story Magic. Jesus of Christianity is a Supernatural Superhero. Jesus of Christianity is not a Nature's God. Did Jesus tell us about Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Geography, etc.. If Jesus was a God, Jesus should have been able to fill entire books on economics, much more than Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, 1776. Instead of just telling people to give to the poor. If Jesus cared about humans, Jesus would have talked about how to build more wealth with good economic practices to build businesses and on how to make things. Then lets understand Thomas Jefferson and his phrase in the Declaration of Independence of the United States, "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God." Thomas Jefferson did not think that Christianity is true. Jefferson knew that the stories of Christianity only gets to a human created story God, stories created by humans. Jesus is a Supernatural Superhero, who only knows Story Magic. Jefferson thought that a Nature's God would have knowledge of Nature. That is what the Philosophers of the Age of Enlightenment gave us, is to not believe in Supernatural Superhero Story Magic, but to build on knowledge of Nature and Reason. A phrase used to describe the Age of Enlightenment was 'Dare to Know.' It is the Age of Enlightenment Philosophies that gave us the advances of Nature, like electricity, electronics and machine created power, medical care and medical hospitals. Not the Story Magic thinking from the ancient world.

When the student says we need suffering to experience happiness, he is actually acknowledging that there are some times when we are so stubborn in our ways that we reject the joy of the Lord, and the Lord in his love chastises us so that we may experience this joy which he knows is good for us. In other words, it is our stubbornness which requires the suffering to find joy, but that stubbornness is sin, and sin is entirely unnecessary, therefore suffering isn't necessary to find joy.

The history around Jesus is remarkable. There are a western version (known by most Christians in the west) and a eastern version (mostly unknown by Christiana). The eastern (Indian) version suggest that Jesus (as most others) didn't die on the cross but was towed to a brand new grave (not family grave) and rested there for some few days and was swapped away on a donkey ASAP his was able to manage the trip. The "fly away" explanation was a cover story to manage the escape. From there he went to India and created a eastern tradition that didn't survive Islam.

The only thing I disliked about this video was when she asked how do you accept Christ?, he gave her some type of theological answer instead of just telling her that if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart the Jesus is Lord and Christ raised him from the dead then you shall be saved. And after that become discipled. No point in standing out there and discussing all of this theology and all of these concepts when you can’t even show someone how to accept Christ into your heart. This is very disappointing because I love hearing these debates. But what Good does it do when an atheist ask how do you accept Jesus and you can’t answer them?

Without hardship, there is no growth. God allows us to go through hardship for reasons that at the time may be beyond our understanding, but the lesson is to trust that no matter how bad things appear, He is with us and is out support. Faith grows and we see His hand work in our favor eventually. I went through a difficult time and chose to trust in God like I never did before. After the hard times were over I looked back and realized how much I had grown to love Him for being my hope. I witnessed miraculous solutions to my problems just popping right in front of me for months. I trusted Him so much I was compelled to call people I had not seen in over a decade who were suffering from cancer only to later see them healed and strong in the faith as I was becoming. I felt closer to God and it was all because I chose to fall in His arms in hard times. Pain isn't a bad thing if you allow the outcome take you in the right path. We would not surrender our will to Him if we didnt know how much we need Him, and when all is well, it is easy to forget Him. Some may say this is selfish of Him. It only sounds that way if you dont understand the reality of what He is leading you away from. Not being near Him, is not being near life. There is no life without Him because He IS life. It is what God meant when he said to Adam and Eve “if you eat from that tree you will die”. In layman terms, if you do as you wish, you stray from me, the only source of good and life. If you choose to be the one who determines what is good in your flawed, limited view of the world, you will fail. Trust me, and everything will be good in your life, and through you being blessed, everyone around you will be blessed.” Instead we now have people who choose what is good and what is evil, and there isnt a set foundation for everyone. Everyone chooses, everyone begins to hate those who they deem wrong and evil. Thus we have division. Evil doesnt just spawn from selfish people like dictators and other cartoonishly evil men. No, evil also stems from division which slowly brews into hate. Basically, people who do not share fundamental ideas. But with Gods truth, the only truth, there is a solid foundation, hence why the bible calls Him the rock. His will, his morality, is all based in logical thinking. If we all live eachother and are patient with eachother, we will all prosper. God wants to be part of that too, because he wants relationships that are genuine.

Often now they'll get an incredible question and drip the ball so so badly. I'm like shouting at the screen. A girl asks HOW MUST I BE SAVED and the son goes ON AND ON about stuff instead of directly addressing HOW to be saved!!! Share the GOSPEL, and QUICKLY let her know if you honestly want to give your life to christ ...honestly.... Here's how: I've seen years of these and they often have great things to say. But Far too often they flat out misinterpret questions or jump ahead of a question... And there's a guy who's sharing something true - bad things can make the good seem excellent - and didn't know how to express it. But they jump on him... Yet, we see the very thing displayed in the life of Job. The young man wasn't saying, 'my dad had to die to let me feel life more abundant'... He was saying, 'that event which was awful and caught us off guard, happened to jolt me or shook me to wake me up to how good life is'. The girl who questions why GOD can do things like destroy people.... Should know that He's the Potter and we're the Clay. What value do we have outside of God? If I draw a sketch and then end up throwing it away, and someone says "Hey! That's wrong! I love that sketch! It's awesome. Why would you do that?!?" Well. Because I CREATED IT and I will save it or throw it away if I desire. For the reasons I desire. We could go on and on... Completely agree. I also have watched lots of these videos and get a lot from them, but I also find myself frustrated so often by the missed opportunities such as the ones you mentioned... and also the guy near the end of this video asking about someone living a pious life but not having faith in Jesus as opposed to someone who has sinned more but has faith - a perfect opportunity to mention that there is NONE good but God. . It would have been the perfect opportunity to use the commandments to show how everyone has broken some of them and will therefore stand guilty on the day of judgement if they trust in their own righteousness rather than putting their faith in Christ, which is of course the good news. The supposedly pious non believer will be judged only on the sins they have committed - there is nothing unfair about how they will be judged. Lastly, I’d like to be perfectly clear that this comment is intended to be constructive criticism. What they are doing is valuable and I admire them both for talking to these young people - I just think it could be taken to another level that would be even more beneficial than what tends to be mainly intellectual argument by clearly sharing the gospel and why everyone needs it.

@@Amy-un6xg Good question Amy. I can certainly hook my wagon so to speak to anyone who preaches love, kindness, empathy and compassion to other human beings.. those are all wonderful traits that I try and adhere to. With regards to the gospels though, I am highly skeptical that this Jesus character was indeed the "son of God", there are lots of reasons why it doesn't make sense to me, or that I find it highly unlikely. Just to give you one reason.. so as not to make these comments too long, I don't believe that Jesus died for my sins. Any wrongdoings I make in life are upon me and no one else.. it's up to me to ask forgiveness from the person I wronged, and that person is under no obligation to forgive me if they feel it's unwarranted. I can learn from my mistakes and try not to commit the same errors. Life is a learning process. Lets take an extreme example Amy, lets say a man tortures and kills your parents, I think you would find it hard to forgive such a horrific act, i dont think I could forgive that person straight off the bat. Yet, we're led to believe that if that person shows genuine forgiveness and accepts Jesus as his savior, Jesus *will* forgive him. So what punishment has been given to him for his abhorrent act?.. lets say he committed this act and was never caught.. when he dies, according to Christianity .. he goes to heaven does he not?

As a fellow CT native Christian Millennial (Middletown, Plainville, New Britain, Greenwich , Hamden + Litchfield) who just moved down to Florida-so Happy to see this area of Connecticut get the gospel of Jesus Christ! New Canaan is part of Fairfield county-the wealthiest section however Spiritually broke. This church is a beacon of light to meet Gen Z at campuses! Any church that steps outside their walls to talk about the gospel is one of the many signs of a true authentic healthy church. Sounds like this church is a great starting point to understand the fundamentals of Christianity and a solid Biblical foundation. To mature into a well rounded Christian after you understand the foundation- I would also look for a churches that cultivates the role of the Holy Sport in terms of the presence of God inside of you. After all, it’s the power of Gods presence inside of a Christian that enables us to love Him and live for Him. Where His Presence is there is Freedom. Typically churches that cultivate His Presence are Non-Denominational can use keywords like Kingdom Minded, or Kingdom Builders in their lexicon. If you cannot find any, I’ll also share my church name in Largo, FL ( Generation Church) and you can watch them on KZfaq ! Shalom to all the pilgrims on this earth that are finding Jesus.

The part about the ministry of Stewart and Cliff which saddens me the most is how "in detail" they try to get, which a lot of the time diverts around the people's question entirely. Example: at 4:14 this poor girl wants to know how to be saved and Stewart goes on a theology preach session which this poor unbeliever was not only not ready to hear, but did not answer her question at all leaving her more confused. And at the end of his preaching, he said "Then ask Jesus into your heart" Friends, asking Jesus into your hearts WILL NOT save you. Nor is this preaching biblical. All you need to do is simply trust that Jesus was the sufficient sacrifice to pay the just penalty of your sin. No prayer, church attendance, good works, baptism or anything else will save you. The gospel of Christ is simple, friends. Simply trust in the savior. Acts 16:29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved -you and your household."

Happy to respond to that question Jesse. First off, it's not something that any atheist has ever claimed they have an answer to.. so it's a strawman argument. Suffering and death is very much part of life, it's impossible to deny.. they are inevitable aspects of life. Both Cliffe and Stuart have mentioned their brother/uncle losing a little girl in a car accident, while this is undoubtedly a terrible tragedy that caused intense pain and suffering to their family, we can all sympathise greatly with their terrible loss.. it's a fact of life that we all have to accept that incredibly painful things are going to occur in life just by the sheer nature of cause and effect.. people die in car accidents, no amount of praying will ever stop that.. it's a sad fact of life. Is there a Christian answer as to the problem of suffering and death?.. Jesse, why does God allow little children and babies to suffer horrific diseases which result in them experiencing terrible pain and ultimately death? From an atheist perspective again, it's an unfortunate fact of life that some children and babies will die painful deaths, that is the nature of the world we live in, we can explain it. But i think it's much harder from a Christian perspective to explain why a loving God would allow a baby to be born that is only going to experience pain and suffering before it slowly dies. .. to say it's because of mankinds fallen nature doesn't really answer it.. what has that baby done to deserve pain and death from a Christian perspective? It would be good to get your thoughts on why innocent babies in particular suffer terrible pain from your perspective? What did they do to deserve that?

Idk if this will be seen bc this video has a lot of comments already but wow. I mean while watching this a new revelation just came to me about pain and suffering besides us just accepting the good and the bad and it just being the law of this life. When God told job “who are you” first I realized and thought “that's right who am I that I can't take anything bad” so I took it in a sacrificial/humble way(which is true)but then I realized the reason u shouldnt believe that you are deserving of nothing but goodness in this life is Because you haven't gave only good things in this life. ALSO, the fact is, this life/world is nothing but evil and destruction without God. Revelation: HIS MERCY AND GRACE are the good times. It's his mercy and grace that provide us with good experiences and the experience to be good THROUGH His Holy SPIRIT, goodness is on this earth and it is mixed in with the bad to provide some balance and that's a testimony to his love, and just nature to still give us goodness to combat our horrible deeds, so in all we have something to be thankful for even in the bad times because without his spirit and STANDARD FOR HIS SPIRIT it would be all chaos.

I haven’t heard the audible voice of Jesus or God. I haven’t seen a miracle similar to the ones Jesus performed. All I have is the words of eye witnesses from thousands of years ago. The promises of Jesus for the resurrection and new heaven and new earth are so fantastical to me it’s hard to even fathom anything other than the brokenness and corruption of this life. Yet I still believe because I came to the conclusion that I have to make a choice on who to trust for me to continue living. So I follow Jesus to the best of my ability in hope that Jesus is as reliable as he claims to be.

Since a real God would have complete knowledge of nature, and be somewhat creative to make good things, the Gospels would have to contain; Jesus's knowledge of the human body. For a God to turn a 3 day old dead body to a new alive one, that God would know a lot about eyes, ears, blood, heart, lungs, skin, bones, etc.. Then tell humans about that. Give us information on keeping the body healthy. Tell us how to prevent diseases naturally, not just heal a few people supernaturally, which can be made from humans minds and imaginations in story. Jesus would have been walking around Judea and saw so many people without books to read and people who didn't know how to read. Jesus would have told humans about inventions like the printing press. Also about eyeglasses so more people could read. Jesus would have known a little bit about Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Geography, Mathematics, etc. or at least the way to investigate it. Did Jesus have no knowledge of what we call Science? Really? Jesus would have a lot of knowledge of economics and on how to make things and businesses. Create more wealth with good economics rather than just giving to the poor. A real God would know about Nature. A Story God created from humans minds and imagination would be able to do the Supernatural in stories, but have no real knowledge of Nature. (Which is why Thomas Jefferson included the phrase 'Laws of Nature and of Nature's God. Jesus is never a Nature's God. Jesus is a Supernatural Super hero. So any discussion of Philosophical arguments for a Nature's God do not apply to Jesus and Christianity. Jesus does not deserve the promotion from Supernatural God to Nature's God that many Philosophers do, who try to promote Christianity in debate. )

Exactly 💯. Thanks to them for uploading this video. Brother's Cliffe and Stuart always do good work in their efforts in the furtherance of The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ you're reaching thousands to millions of people who are seeking after The Truth of God's Existence, Word and Character in our reality 🙏❤️👊. This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

4:20 - 4:40 Even though Stuart gave an excellent explanation of why God allows bad things to happen I just think there's a better answer to a world that doesn't truly understand how the Bible. For instance her question is why does God allow so much bad to happen? there are quite a few reasons why. 1. God sees something in a person that the person cannot see about themselves that God wants to show the person to help them become more godly and more mature in life's situations and help them grow more to be a better individual and sometimes tough love strengths will very much do that. you see suffering isn't always a bad thing if in the long run its beneficial to mankind's growth of character. 2. is because God is showing mankind cannot govern a world properly without Him leading us how to correctly, safely and morally run a country. 3. and last but not least its because God allows mankind have free will to be able to choose weather we want to trust him to be able govern our lives and keep us alive till it is our time to go be with Him in heaven.

She just has to make a sincere prayer that she knows she is a sinner and she believes that Jesus the son of God died for her sins, and he was buried and rose from the grave 3 days later; all according to scripture. If you believe on this, God will start to change you from the inside out immediately. It might be a huge change or it might be a gradual change. But you will change and be a different person. You will be “born again”

The word Repentance was not talked about or explained by the two guys preaching which is necessary. One of the college kids did mention repentance but neither of the guys preaching even acknowledged her in that regard. Their preaching is more like a motivational speech. This should be what was taught according to the Apostle Paul. Acts 26:20 NKJV but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

Let me save you all from a lot of unnecessary “religious” stress. Please read Galatians 5:14, which says, For ALL the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. You see, Jesus has already fulfilled the law, and we are to walk in love in, and through Him. I heard someone say, “Religion says do, but Jesus says, it’s done.”

It’s hard to “ trust in Jesus” because technically when you believe things from the Bible you are not trusting in Jesus, but you are trusting whoever wrote what they say Jesus said. So it’s not as simple as to just “trust Jesus” you have to trust people you have never known in order to believe, that is what makes it hard. Some people are like Thomas they would need to see/touch him to believe, if Jesus doesn’t do that so they can believe it’s not the persons fault but, Gods for making them that way.

Exactly, it would be one thing for a being to stand in front of us all identifiably, detectable to our senses, demonstrating divine power etc saying "hey, I am the way, follow me, trust me", it's quite another to ask us all to trust him and believe in him on the basis of what some other people we have never even met wrote about him thousands of years ago. Even more, irrational than that, apparently, if we don't believe in Jesus we will burn in this place called Hell because our doubts, our lack of belief in him will be counted as us "rejecting him", this is absurd, right? Yes, of course, it is, it's ridiculous, how can we reject an invisible, intangible, inaudible being? We can only reject what is demonstrably in front of us and identifiable to us because then we can make an INFORMED decision as to whether we accept it or not, we can't outright reject someone or something we have never met or corresponded directly with or even be sure they exist at all. All we can do, at best, is say we lack sufficient evidence to come to any conclusion about them and we require much more such evidence before we can make a proper decision, as opposed to a default one, nobody REASONABLE would consider that a rejection, only a crazy being would turn around and say "well, now, you read all about me in these ancient writings and you doubted it, you questioned it, you dared to try to be rational and logical and ask for more evidence to back it up....right....in the fire you go, boy", I mean, seriously? Is this how a being who supposedly put together the whole Universe would deal with us? Surely, if there was a God who cared that much about us and who had a vitally important message for us that would be detrimental if we didn't get it, this being wouldn't rely on a collection of writings put together into one book to get the message across to the whole world? Surely, if he wanted to tell us anything he would just come and tell us all personally? Why would an all-powerful being need to write anything down anyway? It just doesn't figure. The very fact that it's all in writing strongly suggests that the Bible is the work of men, and, I will add, there's nothing wrong with books written by men per se, I read books written by men but only when the subject matter they are writing about is concerning tangible, secular things, there is no way that I would just take an authors word for it that they are writing on behalf of some supreme divine being just because they claim so without a lot more evidence to back it up, ideally, in the form of this being coming in front of me and telling me what they have to say, that way, there would be minimal chance of any misunderstanding and more to the point, I would know that this being actually exists as opposed to PRESUMING he exists, despite not ever meeting him, just because I have no other explanation for all the big philosophical questions.

To both of you: It is simple to trust in Jesus Christ because salvation is a gift, he did all the work of paying for our sins by his death on the cross. All you have to do to receive it is to believe in him and accept the gift of salvation. Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. We make things complicated but God is all loving and has made salvation available to all who believe. The choice is yours.

@@agustinvega8969 you missed the point you have no clue if Jesus said any of that, all you know is someone else wrote that he did and there’s no way to know because god doesn’t speaker any of us. So your not trusting Jesus but your faith is in the people who made the claim about Jesus, people you have never met.

You seem to have made the following points I think. 1.the Bible was written by people of old and tells of God 2.you do not believe things written by people, esp.people of old, esp.when they write about God 3.you personally require some kind of 1st person evidence in order to justify your beliefs, like Thomas 4.God made you like this. 5.it is God's fault when He judges you 1.agree 2.Tacitus was also an old historian and much of what he wrote is believed. Or Herodotus or Plutarch or Caesars writings. If the Bible did not contain any supernatural events it would likely be considered historical too. To ask more of the Bible than other ancient writing seems an unfair measure being applied. 3.have you thought about what the evidence might be that would convince you? Visions may well be discounted as delusions or dreams. What would you need? And why evidence? Why is it important to be thought of as rational in this way? What is wrong with faith in the Bible/trust in the character of God? And did Jesus not also say (John 20:29) to Thomas "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”? 4.God probably has a reason for making us each individually (Jer 1:5, Psm 139:13,16). Faith seems to be worth a lot Biblically. For example, perhaps it is worth more if you need to specifically choose it over and against opposition. 5.we have free will to choose. It is not a fault of God. Joshua 24:15 “choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord”.

This is so wrong, telling this kids that they don’t have any moral sense on there own as a tool to cooperation and mutual prosperity, and can only be dictated upon them by god. The proposition that our sense of morality comes from god and would not be a result of any natural accuracy is absurd. Here is how I think it went: in our past history in times, when our long gone ancestors were hunter gatherers, different kind of people and tribes existed. Some of separate people or tribes were more aggressive to others or even to each other which predisposed them do the lack of successful communication and cooperation which is vital to survival, it’s known that people who able to communicate and cooperate with each other have much better chance in survival and reproducing. Over long long periods of time those who did not have stronger moral convictions and were not able to form strong mutually beneficial societies simply lost in natural selection to those who did. And those who did survive and reproduced simply went further to duplicate sets of behaviours and social moral norms in future generations, which eventually led them to the point where we are now. Morality is not a god given gift, it’s evidently a tool which allowed us to survive, and the reason for most prosperous societies that exist nowadays being the most moral. And how convenient to say that, let’s say, I don’t believe in god because I don’t want to submit to god, and wish to live my life in seen and wrong doings, and not because there is absolutely no evidence he exists. This is indoctrination 101: scream some gibberish that has no base in reality into face of some people who are predispositioned by there upbringing to believe in culture of there parents. Not gonna tell you all that there is no god, but I will tell that likely hood of his existence is slim to non come from the data that we have or don’t have as of now. And even if there is some all powerful entity, how can we know that ancient Mesopotamian god Yahweh is the one? How irrational do you have to be to derive all your interpretations of reality from the Canaanite book of ancient tales and myths?

It is to die to yourself and your will, and to reckon that your old man, your fleshly self, was crucified with Christ 2000 years ago, and that a new man, Christ, is now living in and through you as a SUBSTITUTED life -- all by faith.
