Yup, this police department is clearly in routine violation of your Constitutionally protected rights. This is a liability and opens them up to litigation, through what is called a 'Monell claim'. Which is when a governmental agency has established (as a pattern of practice) (1) deprivation of a federal right; (2) some governmental action can be traced to the deprivation, i.e., policy or custom; (3) policy or custom demonstrating the governmental entity’s fault, i.e., deliberate indifference; and (4) municipal action that was the moving force behind the federal violation. Dean v. Wexford Health Service, Inc., 18 F.4th 214, 235 (7th Cir. 2021).

We were trained in the coast guard during law enforcement training that “it’s us against them”. “Them” being the citizens. Also, around 2005-2006 or so, we got a memo from the director of DHS about potential “domestic terrorist” groups. There was a list of groups to look out for in order of greatest threats, #1 being the most immediate threat. Number one was active military personnel who recently returned from deployment. Number 2 was listed as people who talk about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. It’s most definately a training issue.

Finding out what is going on and expecting, even demanding that the person answers is an ABUSE of AUTHORITY! Can any other citizen force detain someone just to question them? Neither can a cop without a reasonable articulable suspicion of a crime. With RAS it’s just a conversation, a conversation that you are completely within your rights to decline to have.

Again I will say, in order for someone to become a police officer, they should have a passing grade of at least 95% on the constitution, I don't know why anyone hasn't stressed this but after the 1st fail of said test, they are not allowed to reapply within 1 year of fail test date, 2nd fail sends them kicking rocks to McDonald's or some other less paid job, just my opinion.

Yes,,, I find ALL POLICE OFFICERS to be a total joke ! Yes, DEFUND THE POLICE ! People, we don't need police ! It is my personal observation; most ( probably ALL) Police Officers are under a false illusion; they think once they put on a badge, they actually really do think the whole world bows down to them. No !! A police officer has no power or authority over you, till you commit a crime. Suspicious is NEVER a crime ! To ALL Police Officers; your Badge only has authority when a crime has been committed ! To ALL Police Officers; if there's no crime going on; that Badge is just a worthless piece of metal !
