Tracey Boseley is National Development Lead for the Education Sector at Child Bereavement UK. She works with education professionals, schools and young people to provide vocabulary around grief.
1 in 29 British school children are bereaved of a parent or sibling by the time they leave school, an equivalent of one child in every class. However, there is no requirement for schools anywhere in the UK to cover grief or bereavement.
Child Bereavement UK's Education Sector aims to normalise the feelings that come up throughout grief and provide a reference point from which young people and educators can reflect when a death happens in their school communities and families.
Tracey joined us in April 2023 for a conversation on Grief Education in Schools with author of 'Sad Book' Michael Rosen, and journalist Jess Bacon.
