I just want to say THANK YOU for everything! Last year, I knew nothing about scuds,white worms and microfauna. You n FF have taught me so much. I basically had to relearn everything about fish keeping! My scud culture is growing. So much so that I did another scud tank for them. My white worm culture..I’m still trying to get going…it’s a slow process but I’ll get there. Once again ..thank you for all you do n posting these videos! They do make a difference and it’s very helpful!! 👍🤡👍

Thank you so much for the kind words and support! This is all one giant experiment... all I can do is encourage anyone I can to keep going. Especially through failures. Observe with no expectations. There's so much more to come!!

white worms do not live in water. so this is not a holistic approach. I am not enthusiastic about having brine shrimps and other creatures that are alien to the freshwater aquarium environment.

It's always great to travel and check out the aquatic microfauna in faraway places. I went to Hot Springs, Arkansas in May and came back with about a dozen live samples... including plants, mosses, snails, worms, and crustaceans. Turns out, they have the same scuds in SW Arkansas that we have in the creek behind my house in Illinois. Good times...

Sounds like a great trip. It's always so fascinating to see what else is out there. The more you look ,the more you find. Thanks for watching.

I would advise you to change the title of the video: there is nothing about making microfauna food web in it.

Very nice im learning alot off your channel and yes I Phillip. I can't wait till it gets warmer so I can order more from your channel. I've got the bags of bugs a few weeks ago and I think it thriving I still haven't put in the tank yet. Oh the snails in there are getting huge but the scuds I see very little but there definitely in there so I want to say thank you Phillip

Hey brother. I just placed my first order with your company! It's for a partial blackwater tank I'm doing. I'll be sure and talk about the bag of scuds, etc... on my channel when I put them in the tank. Excited! @@phillipsfishworks

I do not touch my tanks much. I feed my fish once a day and let them hunt scuds in-between. I only top them off with some water as the water levels go down.

I am sure there is a video (or six) on the topic, but I had to ask: what store-bought filtration equipment do you prefer most? Or is it best to go without artificial filtration at all?

I need brackish Scuds for my Opae Ula Tank.

It revamps my curiosity for brackish tanks every time you mention one. We will be visiting the North Carolina coast this Winter. I will try and find some brackish water and see about collecting samples. Thanks for the continued support.

Just wondering what the clay fired disc is for that came with an order? It has a metal loop to attach to, lookes like wearable item?

I have 2 resurrection jars I started per instructions from Father Fish. After 2 months im still not seeing any signs of life possibly due to collecting debris from a creek after a rainstorm. Could the micro fauna live in these jars or would my 2g no tech shrimp jar be better?
@phillipsfishworks
@phillipsfishworks Жыл бұрын
If the jars are relatively small it would be better to go to the larger jar... microfauna and other small creatures can survive in small spaces but to get a big population going you need a larger space. You have to feed some if you want them to grow and if it's a small jar the water fouls too quickly. Hope this helps.
