I've never raised Sea Monkeys (brine shrimp), but I have a feeling, scuds are infinitely simpler and infinitely easier. Best of all, scuds are free locally.

I killed the first scud I caught in the wild because of what I read. Now I have them in my tank and a separate culture of just scuds with some snails. They love carrots. I just bought some more carrots today for them.

Hello Tony. I was trying your method by culturing green water outside in sunlight. I added daphnia in the green water tank, green water is dark green now, but I don't see daphnia multiplying, what did I do wrong?

Just stopping in to let everyone know abt my adventure w green water⚘️✌️🌴 first, thank you to Phillips Fish Works for all the attention and follow up with me. Today, customer service doesn't exist so on that front A+. The green kit wants for nothing. Wow. A+ seriously, nothing is needed except air. I have 4 jars, getting ready to purchase 2 more and then start on 2 buckets. I have abt 80 betta fry I'm keeping alive on these critters n green water Ya'll need to try this if only to offer your water pets a live treat Thank you.

Technically, meiofauna are animals that pass through a 1mm mesh screen but not through a 0.1mm mesh screen. Many of them are interstitial, living between grains of sand in the substrate.

I love playing with greenwater so much I woke up out of bed to look at the green water grabbed a small bottle of water out of the mini fridge, got stoned and was looking at my different cultures of green water that I put in empty water bottles and accidentally opened one and took a warm sip😢

Even if someone didn't have an aquarium or keep fish this is a fantastic video. Its also got an excellent, chill, relaxing vibe with a narrator who sounds kinda like Chris Pratt.

I keep a dirted substrate and added cyclops copepods. Had to go off into the woods with a jar, find a good stream (four times), collect the gunk, and sit in front of it with an eye dropper and a flashlight in the dark to transfer them into the tank. A lot of work but my substrate is BRISTLING with cyclops now. Beyond the substrate worms, cyclops break down the mulm into finer particles and settle it farther down into the dirt, making the nutrients more accessible to the plants. Also they add to the diet of many nano fish like scarlet badis and chili rasboras.

I find that Moina tend to handle softer ph and higher temps whereas the Daphnia magna tend to like a more alkaline ph and colder water. Just my 2 cents as a culture nerd myself.
