Giving a Model a Bad Hair Day

The People's Court

The People's Court

Күн бұрын

The plaintiff says she brought a wig to the defendant so she could apply it to the plaintiff’s head. She claims the woman ruined it and put some sort of oily substance in it and it disintegrated. She’s suing for the cost of a new wig. The defendant says the plaintiff’s wig was in pretty bad shape when it was brought in, and she did the best she could with it.

WHAT? The plaintiff had no proof of what she actually paid for the second hand wig, nor when it had been purchased, she had no proof of what it looked like after the defendant had washed out the oils and she didn't even have the wig anymore, (which I don't believe for an instant) and with no proof whatsoever just her flapping gums, she managed to win $100, and it's not like the defendant gets to keep the old wig, and what about all the work the defendant did to get the old wig to look healthy again, that is all so unjust, she didn't deserve anything at all...

She doesn’t have the actual receipt for the wig bc its a relatively cheap wig than the screenshot. The defendant should have made her sign something letting her know, I will do my best but this wig is a mess. Her other install looked flawless. Don’t you get an order confirmation with your receipt sent to your email when you order hair online & if its from a physical store, then she could have just walked in and asked them to reprint. Or maybe the wig was years old lol.

Im only a few seconds in but I notice the plaintiff is saying the wig “disintegrated” after putting oil in it? It must’ve not been a human hair wig but actually a synthetic wig and then she’s asking for the defendant to pay for the NEW wig instead of the wig she allegedly destroyed? The plaintiff is full of it. She’s trying to get money for a ran down synthetic wig. I know my wigs very well and this all sounds suspect to me Lol

There should be some type of disclaimer if clients want you to touch or reinstall a wig that already been used , most wigs can be worn more than once w/o being ruined IF the are of good quality. Idk I’m sure the plaintiff gets free hair and stuff sent to her if she’s a Insta influencer hair companies constantly send out free wigs to “influencers” for promo who knows if she even paid for that wig she’s didn’t have any proof whatsoever, but then again who knows.

Even have the customer fill out information on the wig. I know it seem like a lot.

Grammar is classist and perhaps you should do some research on LINGUISTICS before judging people. I rarely see these comments when there are white defendants Why do some people say “aks” instead of “ask”? It’s not “just their accent” and it sure as hell isn’t a mispronunciation. There’s a linguistic reason and a cultural reason. Let’s quickly look at both: First, “ask” and “aks” are the same word because of ✨metathesis✨, which is when two sounds in a word trade places. For example, nobody corrects you when you swap the T and R sounds in “comfortable” and say “comfterble,” instead. It’s the same with “aks” and “ask.” They’ve always been interchangeable. Both “ascian” and “acsian” were used in Old English. But then over time, for no reason having anything to do with “correct grammar,” “ask” became the pronunciation of those in power, and therefore became “standard,” whereas “aks” was the pronunciation of…the less powerful. And here we arrive at the cultural explanation… When enslaved Africans learned English, they learned it mainly from European indentured servants…who’s dialect included “aks.” Thus it became a perfectly natural - and therefore correct - element of African American Vernacular English. But, still, languages change. So why hasn’t "aks" been standardized? I’ll quote John McWhorter, a black linguist, to answer that (t.co/RuFpxbW42t). He writes: “’Ax’ is a word indelibly associated not just with asking but with black people asking…" “‘Ax,’ then, is as integral a part of being a black American as are subtle aspects of carriage, demeanor, humor and religious practice. 'Ax' is a gospel chord in the form of a word…. Yet nothing can stop people from hearing 'ax' as illiterate.” And now a painful irony: “When a black speaker gets the most comfortable…the most herself - that is exactly when she is likely to slide in an ‘ax’ for ‘ask.’ Immediately she sounds ignorant to any nonblack person who hears her, not to mention to quite a few black ones.” So…when she’s most honest, a linguistic bias in *us* means she won’t be taken seriously. But that doesn’t have to be true! And a *very basic* way to begin changing that is to not call other people’s native language “bad grammar.” It's rude. And ignorant. But mostly rude.

Why do some people say “aks” instead of “ask”?

As to the question of the judges at the end, teachers also have to enroll in continuing education classes throughout their careers, but when your salary gets bumped up a step or a level, then you really don't mind putting in the time at all. And it keeps you current in methodology, so you win twice. 🙂
