yeah, it's completely ridiculous. we all know the game is pretty mediocre, but truth be told i could have plenty of fun with it regardless if i could just replace the guys with aliens. it is an aliens game, after all. granted, the stasis interrupted dlc was much better than the main game, but i still would rather replace all the enemies with aliens in that as well.

Darkmoon Blade the audio repeating is actually a design concept which is true to the 2nd movie, You see / hear it quite a bit in Aliens where the PR's gunfire is snippets of sound at various pitches like in the game, iirc I believe gearbox stated they used the very same audio files that were created for the movie and Fox approved their use in the game.

***** idk but the story goes that Gearbox had the campaign near enough completed ( this was the Demo footage ) and they then handed the project to another developer who was supposed to add their part which I believe was the Multiplayer content, then they were due to hand it back to gearbox but something screwed up so much that the project had to be rebuilt from the ( I assume ) last available point where a hard copy was still stored on a hard drive or something. Of course that could be gearbox saving face instead of holding their hands up and saying "wait.. we fucked up sorry :( " What we've got now though is about as good as we're gonna get =\

The patches will be delivered automatically so you don't really have a choice, unless you backed up the game between patches like I did lol

Yep the patches were only released on the PC version, If you own the game legitimately you should already have the patches as the game is powered by Steamworks.. Meaning you need to have it on steam in order to play, All copies of ACM are steamworks titles regardless of installation media ( DVD / Digital )

+admin movies If you have the game on steam you'll get the SSAO patch but you won't ever see "Demo" quality in ACM man..

+Benyhl2 +MarCuseusFX i think the e3 demo was just being too ambitious...expecially for such long production time.That's why we shall give another chance either to the GB guys, making it clear with proper feedback what can be used and what needs some serious work ( as i said in another reply, Microsoft's Xbox One Policy was changed also thanks to the efforts made by the users who gave feedback, it may happen again) or whoever wants to take the job...Creative Assembly included after the Amazing job they did...Since i know GB did some fantastic job back in the day with the Brothers In Arms series ( which i seriously Hope another chapter comes out soon...i just wanna see more of it ), if they put the right effort they would release a good game next time...

No, If you have it on PC it'll be fully patched but it will never be like what was promised originally by Gearbox. There are .ini tweaks you can do to make the game look slightly better but that's just about as good as it gets. There's 2 DLC's I would really suggest getting for this game though, Bug Hunt and Stasis Interrupted, They make the game far more playable IMHO.

normannobrot Yeah only the PC version got the graphical goodies, Console versions got something of a patch but apparently due to technical restrictions with the engine and the performance on the console versions.. They couldn't get the SSAO patch and better textures etc. They did get the sparking effect while shooting aliens ( I think ) and the blue glow from the motion tracker but I think that's about as much as the console versions got in terms of visuals.. One day soon I might buy the PS3 version and compare the two.

normannobrot I agree man, It's not what we were shown but it is what it is I guess. Still, If you have the game on PC, you should check out the Survival Experience V2 mod for ACM on Moddb, It makes the game harder and the Aliens more deadly.. and if you have bughunt DLC on ACM.. there's mods for that to remove the WY thugs and replace them with xeno's so it's 30 waves of Aliens rather than 20 waves of Aliens and 10 of WY. It makes the game a LOT better though! :)

You'll get the 5.2GB patch anyway, It was a Post Processing Patch to add better visuals across the board on the PC version.

TheATeciak Sega and Gearbox got a lawsuit for that shit, dont worry. Sega for realising the game, tho the warning signs from the play testers and actually dont really focusing on the game developing and just give to any 3 sided company to complete the game and Gearbox for not really making it and just focused on making BL2. It's the same fucking shit that happened with DNF, just the exactly same thing.

There's a difference, sure, but the changes to the ambience wouldn't have made the game less shit from what I can tell. Just a simplistic shooter with slight horror elements. This game has already been surpassed by games that came out years before, even the demo footage. If I would have gotten this handed to me and told to "finish it" I'd definitely would have said "Noooooo thank you".

Yup, Not to mention the whole "hicks is alive" thing, It was poorly explained imo. I really think GBX should have just thrown the source code out there along with an SDK for the fans to fix since they're unwilling to fix it of their own accord. Everything needs to be buffed though, The AI needs to be smarter and use more paths, The WY Grunts need to be reduced significantly, And the majority of the WY spawns should be replaced with Alien / Lurker spawns instead to make it even more like an Aliens Sequel. The Aliens need to have that iconic elephant type scream added, The final queen battle should have been a proper standoff between you and the bitch in the powerloader for an epic last stand. Facehuggers in the specimen jars on Hadleys hope should suddenly move as you walk by them for that Jump-scare effect, And not at the same time on every playthrough, It should be done so it's varied so they're more likely to make you jump. That large Alien that chases you and smashes into the door as shown in the demo should also be present and that part of the mission re-added. There was so much potential with ACM but Gearbox let us down immensely, I'm now waiting for the new Alien : Isolation with baited breath, hoping Sega doesn't rush Creative Assembly into releasing an unfinished product.

yup, for some reason, gearbox packed the sound effects of the umbilical into the music files, so when you turn off the music.. you lose the sfx too.

That is the dumbest design decision I've seen....packing the umbilical sounds with the music is a fucking dumb decision on their part... so basically if you wanna hear those sounds without the music too bad you need the music on...further proof this game is a broken Mess even to this current year..
