Glassine Paper with Recycled Material DIY | JJ#164
Today i'll show you how to make glassine paper with material like scrap napkin and tea bags :)
(we can also use....beautiful napkin :)
i used the same process that i used to make vellum in this other video:

0:53 - material you need to do this glassine paper: the part of the napkin that we usually throw when we make decoupage (and napkin itself of course!🙂 the important is to use a single layer of napkin, you have to separate the 3 layers) + used tea bags
1:26 I show you some of the different type we can create with this method (white with some stamp, simple white glassine paper, vintage and colorful)
3:22 preparing the napkins and tea bags
(Separate various layers, make some stamp or ink to create the vintage look)
8:00 making the white glassine paper with stamp
8:53 tea bag glassine paper with stamp
9:15 napkin colorful
9:59 vintage glassine paper
10:36 final results show and tell
The process is:
1. Cover your iron board with baking paper
2. Put your layer of napkin on it
3. Sparkle a normal white candle (with a cutter). You have to put enough but not too much (because the napkin is fragile and you can’t pull away the excess with a cloth). If don’t put too much, you can add wax later and repeat the process
4. Cover it with baking paper
5. Iron it until the wax is totally melted
6. Remove your glassine paper carefully and let it dry for a few second (on other baking paper or in your hand)
7. Admire 😄

OMG! I've been in my craft room for the last 3 hours waxing everything! This was a brilliant idea border-lining on witchcraft! This technique worked on gift bag tissue paper, napkins and single sided card-stock thank you so much for sharing, I had to stop because I ran out of candles LOL the wax bricks I had didn't work

Fabulous idea for the pretty napkins that seldom get used. This method shows them off in their full size to slip into a journal or tip in or cut to size. Love this.

This was a fabulous idea. Your methid answered a lot of questions I had. Nina Ribena does this with an iron that doesn't have steam holes. Since my iron dors I didn't want ti try it. Seeing your method with the top snd bottom parchment paper makes me think I can. Bravo! Posted to Pinterest. 🙏

The baking paper is necessary for the protection of the iron board...and for the iron 🙂 because I think without it the wax would stick everywhere👀‼️ I’m happy that it’s helpful 🤗 ps it’s the same process that I used here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rrpznMSou6vDfZs.html and you can use also the heat tool/heat gun (but for me is better the iron) if have one ! 😄👍🏻

It’s a variation of a technique that i saw on “bohemian crafting” on YT and “planning_jani” on Instagram 😊 in this case I added to do this with iron and on napkin scrap and tea bag 🤗 in the description of my first video on this you can check out their technique 😃kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rrpznMSou6vDfZs.html In this video I call it “glassine” because on napkin turned out more shiny and brilliant, when the same process is use on thin paper (or normal paper) the result is more like “vellum” 🤔 I think there is a lot more to explore !! And I’m curious because certainly someone else will discover a different way to do that 🤔🤔✨ very interesting !! We ‘ ll see 😄✨💕 thank you for your kind support Dee !! 🤗💕💕💕💕

tried this today- beautiful results! also experimented with wax paper- worked ok-but some stuck-as an alternative napkins sprayed with spray varnish worked well also!

Ciao Francesca! Thank you so much for the Video! I am going to try it right now :-). If you fold your napkin and run it through your bis Shot (there should be a Little Bit pressure, maybe adding a thin cardboard peace to the sandwich) the embossing in the contures dissapears! Then you can use the whole sheet , no waste. Regards Elena
