Littlefinger was actually very aware of Bran's powers and their potential to unmask him which is why he used his secret jetpack technology to create a time machine which sent him all the way back to season 1 where he hired some random guy to assassinate Bran in his sleep before he could become the all powerful Three-Eyed Raven. Unfortunately for Petyr Bran manages to survive the attempt on his life and as it turns out it was this incident which led him on the path to gain his powers in the first place. Littlefinger was greatest villain in the entire show, so much so that the only thing that could cause his downfall was in fact himself (and time travel). There, I saved the episode for you. You're welcome.

Benioff and Weiss regarding good writing: ThErE'S nO tImE FoR tHaT

Varys and Little Finger were the hallmarks of brilliant writing. Two enigmatic characters who always gave you enough to keep you interested, but retained mystery. Their scenes in season 1-4 were some of the best in the show, and even though they made very little sense the viewer you never felt cheated. To watch these fantastic characters fizzle out was such a shame.

The thing that annoys me about all the bran omniscience plot holes is that they're SO easy to fix. Have one scene explaining that maybe it's somehow dangerous for him to look back through time so he can't always risk it, or maybe he only sees possibilities for the future instead of what's defiitely going to happen, or maybe the past events that he sees are warped by whoever's perspective he's experiencing them through. There's literally so many ways to avoid the problem of having someone who can fix EVERYTHING with infinite knowledge yet chooses not to most of the time.

The Boots plot line just by itself shows how thick the writers are: they already tried bringing a Wight back in the very first book (Thorne takes the hand of the one Jon kills to Kings Landing) but it's already dead by the time he gets there.

the jon/dany thing is so hilarious to me they're like 'two pretty people have eye contact yes yes they are very in love', without compensating for the lack of time and lack of screen chemistry. It's so awkward because there was more heat with Ygritte and Jon, more subtlety with Dany and Drogo and more tension with Dany and Jorah, and all these previous relationships just makes this attempt at a love plot sooooooo pitiful, which would have just been by the by if it wasn't pivotal to the season's narrative lmao

I think I figured out why Euron is the way he is. Salladhor Saan was actually a faceless man, and in Season 4, when Euron went to try and hire a Faceless Man to kill Balon, Salladhor just killed him and took his face to do it. It all makes sense now. This also accounts for Salladhor’s disappearance.

Right from the start D&D showed that they didn't understand the character of Littlefinger. When he was introduced you had people saying he was creepy, untrustworthy, someone to watch, etc. ie the complete opposite of how the character should actually be. He's a great conman, a confidence man. The hint is in the name, in order to do what he wants he need to gain people's confidence. So he'd act nice, be the sort of person people like and trust, or at the very least be innocuous and not someone you'd suspect. He didn't get where he is by being openly sly and manipulative, he got there by being openly friendly and trustworthy, all the manipulation is done in secret. So it didn't take them 7 seasons to destroy the character, they'd done it by the end of season 1.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, killing Jamie at Cersi's command would have been better than whatever the hell they did with him the last few episodes

I love how no one asks how and why the Mountain is alive after they all see him for the first time. The Mountain is a big deal and news of his death was surely spread across the kingdom but everyone sees him and they are like "yeah lol, everyone just has zombies now, hey, here's Boots".

In a lot of ways, Lancel did nearly as much harm as Cersei _thinks_ Tyrion did to her, and far more than he _actually_ did. And unlike Tyrion, Cersei actually _knows_ how Lancel slighted her and, unlike Tyrion, Lancel and Cersei were not at odds with each other, at all. He just slammed for no reason, he didn't even get anything in exchange for his confession.

Dany lamenting about the Dragonpit always bothered me SO much. The pit was pretty much finished in the years following Aegon’s reign, so unless she’s implying her entire dynasty was steadily falling downhill (which would still be wrong, since greats like Jahaerys were yet to rule) this sentiment is completely ignorant of pre-established timelines.

I feel bad for Ellaria Sand. One quarter of Daenrys supporters & nobody even thinks to ask about her. Is Dorne not a good army? According to Cersei’s threats, they’re keeping Ellaria alive in the dungeons to watch her daughter turn into a skeleton. So... probably still down there until the series finale.

It bothers me that Theon never mentions Robb when he talks about his regrets. You know, his best friend/basically brother, who he actually betrayed? Like it would be so good if he said he should have died with Robb at the Red wedding, like he did in the books. Instead the whole Stark family gets reduced to Ned, because everybody talks only about him.

The Dead are on their way south and it will take everyone to stop them(if season eight wasn't shit). All they needed to do was hire a few dozen extras and dress them appropriately from each kingdom they hale from and maybe have a few of them speak if they are well known houses like idk maybe the Hightowers from the reach or maybe even House Dayne from Dorne.
