YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL - SOCIAL EXPERIMENT

5 жыл бұрынI was inspired to do a social experiment at my high school about beauty. I recorded peoples reactions and wanted to build upon it by asking them a question. Seeing everyone's reaction when they were called beautiful made me so happy because it made them happy! In the process of filming this video, I noticed that people don't think positively about themselves and people struggle to think that they're beautiful or amazing. Even me I struggle to view myself that way. But the purpose of this video was to show that everyone is beautiful in their own different ways. We need to start believing it and we need to start learning to love ourselves.
Words are strong, and by saying something to someone It could mean so much to them, no matter how small and simple. Tell people that they're amazing and beautiful. Spread the positivity and the kindness. Show love to others and to yourself. Because we definitely need more of it in this world.

We feel ugly because we only see ourselves when we look in the mirror. We never see ourselves when our eyes light up when we talk about something we love, or when we sing a song that means so much to us. We never see ourselves during our brightest times, yet judge ourselves off the harshest.

Boys never really get compliments. And "beautiful" isnt really a word you would call a guy. If you called them handsome then their would probably be more comments. As a guy I can say, not once have I really had a complement. Only teachers ever somewhat gave me a compliment. So if someone walks up to me, I would probably think they are lying since I never really recieved one

I'm a freshman, and my whole life, my peers have told me I was ugly for multiple reasons, mainly for acne though. The other day, I saw one of my old friends that I had lost touch with from elementary school. She saw me and was like, "Oh my gosh you've turned into such a beautiful person!" And I almost burst into tears on the spot from her kind words. Thank you, friend. ♥

@@John-ik2eg yes. But for me, I've been on heavy antibiotics and medicines for three years, it's a very strong case. It's not as easy for some as it is for others. It'll get better though :)

The pain I went through in high school reflects in some of these kids. The sheer level of insecurity and belief they're ugly; the lack of any praise or compliments from peers or parents is palpable and it brings me to tears.

This was actually sad, but relatable. Looking back to when I was in highschool, nobody really had accepted themselves. Nobody knows how to love themselves. Very moving reaction at 2:13 This girl is really beautiful at all standards. She was pretty touched by your sentence, almost moved to tears, as you can see, when she starts moving her hand to her eye, which she stopped as she realized it. Seems to be a girl, that wants to appear cool at all times, for whatever reason. Then at 9:03 she answers "I don´t have anything to tell you" to your question. That´s pretty sad :-(

All the guys in my school hate me, and any time I try to crack a joke or make them smile, they just say "you're not funny, you have the worst sense of humour", and say something hurtful about my personality. It's just sad to watch their reactions in total disbelief when they're told a compliment such as this and even sadder because I can relate to it. I grew up in the foster system and all I can remember is all the bad stuff. I guess my life would've been different if a little boost of confidence would've been introduced in my life. I can actually feel her, because I do the same. Sometimes the love we have we give it to other people. I don’t know the actual reason for that, but when I think about it...
