Global warming could drastically alter the world wine map. This phenomenon pushes winegrowers to conquer new lands, moving ever further towards the poles. Temperatures are expected to rise from 3° to 5°C by 2050, accompanied by a decrease in summertime precipitation, much more frequent heat waves (over 35°C) that are fatal to grapevines, increased soil erosion and irrigation problems.
This catastrophic scenario for an entire economy is a reality. Tomorrow's wines may no longer taste the same, with certain grands crus having completely lost their current typicity, and the reshuffling of the winemaking cards may prove a fatal blow for certain regions, including southern Europe, France and California.
This investigative documentary surveys the research carried out and the decisions made by both vineyard owners and scientists to tackle the question of global warming.

Later pruning causes later ripening. Please respond to that consideration. I'm curious what other's understanding of later pruning is. I've done it, seems ok to do, later ripening fruit.

what grapes have you done it on? Later pruning as according to the weather changes instead of the usual dates?

Climate plays an important role in wine but it can also be a big hindrance especially with the temperature rising in places like France.... Chateaux De Crispin

If the grape is not ripe don't pick it. It makes no sense to pick based on expected alcohol level. After all some vintages are warmer. As the former proprietor of La Tache said, his best wine came when the alcohol was over 14.5. Look it up if you doubt me.

there are other issues with letting the grapes hanging longer than their sugar ripeness. Late Frost, diseases and insects are a higher thread when the grapes are ripe before their time

what about these fucking wild fires too?
@forreal2398
@forreal2398 Жыл бұрын
@Logan Cantrell Wild fires are caused by a very stupid national policy that was followed for over 100 years. And that was put out every fire asap period. Even Nature and the Indians did burns in lightening strikes and lighting things on fire for controlling forest floor fuel build up or fuel build up in the grassland or help in directing animals they were hunting to drop off points for food gathering. AND they knew that fires promoted new and different life and more diversity and healthier eco systems. And helped some things release their seeds or get them to grow. So really the wild fires ur talking about is a man made problem of Americans. And its hard to work out of cause of the amount of fuel down on the forest floor now. It makes small controlled burns almost impossible.

If global warming was a problem, the equatorial areas would be deserts. On the contrary, the equatorial areas are rain forest areas. Plant more trees to reclaim the deserts caused by deforestation. Plants need more CO2 to give you food and oxygen. More forests will also lower the sea level.

You are afraid for your buisniss not for us who drink it and love it. You are afraid that someone elss will start to earn that money. Becouse good land isnt only in france,italy ect... thats just keeping the bissnis in house. We will drink good wine in the future.you bloved up the price of one bottle so high that is ridicilouse,but everyone in wine industry accept that. One botle of wine for 15 000 or eaven for 1000 gtfo. I understand someone can pay,but thats all false narative to keep big busnis in 5 countrys.
