Carrying my 23 makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside😎

Watching this makes me glad that I purchased a Glock 22 Gen 4 police trade in. First .40 caliber weapon I have ever owned.

For those who have commented, let me tell you from personal experience, what a great instructor he is! I (and my sons) took a course with him last fall. Had a great time, learned a lot. We are planning to take several courses this year with him. I also shoot a Glock 23 almost exclusively, both Gen 3 and 4, excellent hand gun, zero problems of any kind.

Great review. You are always non bias and to the point. I do like the G23 and are thinking about it for a second firearm.

Thanks for your comments. Some people prefer the added kinetic energy impact of the .40. bigger, heavier bullet than the 9mm. I support shooting whatever allows the shooter to get effective hits on target. Also right now, .40 ammo is in greater availability than 9mm in certain areas.

I love my g23. Recently purchased one and fired about 1,000 rounds through it. 1missfire and that was ammo related. Primer was struck and deep indention so it was not a light strike. But other than that one time no problems. Easy to clean and aftermarket parts are so affordable. And really easy to install. Only item I brought to a glock store to get installed was the trijicon sights.

Just picked up a gen 4 26 . First time glock owner and I'm really impressed with it ! . 5.5 lbs trigger which is smooth

Great shooting. I have the gen 4 22 and absolutely love it. Shoots soft, easy to manage. Hell, my wife likes it more than my gen 3 17. Stay safe.

I'm happy with mine. Carry it in my EDC rotation the most.

My G23 Gen4 with a 15rd mag and a Pachmyr Grip Glove is what I depend on to protect our home and family. I initially went to my local gun store to buy a G19 but they were sold out. The sales mgr told me about the G23 and how it was essentially the same gun chambered in .40 S&W. Then he informed me that you could convert it to 9x19 or .357sig with just a simple barrel change. Talk about versatility! While it was not my first choice, I have come to love and depend on my Glock 23 and am completely confident it will go bang when I need it to and stop whatever has threatened me and mine. I cannot recommend this pistol enough. Great video as well.

Good Shootin' and a nice review. __I recently bought a Gen4 G23 to see if all the positive hype about the latest generation Glocks made them truly that much better than earlier models. __The Gen4 gun with its changeable backstraps, improved frame texturing and dual recoil spring is a tremendous improvement over my Gen2 G23. The overall feel of the pistol in your hand is much better and the new spring setup does dampen recoil enough that I can notice the difference in a side-by-side comparison with my older 23. I have the smaller beavertail grip installed and like the hold very much, especially while firing. The mag release is improved as well although being a right handed shooter I never had much of an issue with my Gen2. It is however easier to find quickly and engage. __The only thing I have changed over the stock Gen4 G23 was to add a set of XS Sight Systems Big Dot tritium night sights which for me have made a big improvement for both night and day use. __Is all the hype true about the Gen4 Glocks? In my book, yes. Am I going to get rid of my Gen2 G23? No, that pistol is like an old friend and has treated me right for too long to say so long. But the newer version is significantly improved and well worth a look.

Federal HST and Speer Gold Dots is what I use for my defense ammo, those are the top two to beat. Plus I have some boxes the classic hydra-shock ammo.

Damn! Just bought a 19 instead of a 23 because everyone warned me about the 40 S&W recoil. Should have watched this video first.

It's a very soft shooting gun. Much softer shooting that the Gen 3 G23 that I sold last year. Thanks for commenting and watching the vid.

I have a 22, but do like the feel of the 23 and the smaller frame, maybe when I get a lot of extra cash to sling I'll get me one ha, thank you always good videos.

I have both a gen 3 and gen 4 G23, and they are both as reliable as any other gun I own.Out of those two, the Gen 4 is my favorite. The grip is just way more comfortable, and it's not nearly as slippery when my hands are sweaty.

Good Video , I like a review with equal time given to shooting and talking. That was some good combat shooting you were doing too. I have a old outdated Gen 1, 23 without all the bells and whistles , but after 20,000 rounds it shoots and functions just like the Gen 4 . If I can get my M 4 rifle addiction under control maybe I will buy one.

Great video. I have the Glock 23 Gen 3 and its a great pistol. I don't think that I can justify going to a Gen 4 yet. Have done a lot of part swap outs including night sights and have a lot of magazines. Looks to me that for a defensive load you want a bonded bullet like the Speer Gold Dot, Winchester PDX1 or Federal in a 180 grain configuration. Nice handling pistol !

As always great video! Need some advice... I've been thinking hard about getting an M&P 40, pretty much set on it. Then today at the gun shop I noticed that the G23 is $10 less than the M&P I am looking at picking up. $10 isn't a big deal at all but it got me to thinking what about a Glock? Most glocks are much more expensive do I rule them out but seeking advice- M&P 40 or g23??

I have 2 Glocks...23. One is gen 3...the other gen 4. Since 2013...they are the more powerful machine ! Everyday with me...forever♡

I am using a Bladetech for the video. I have transitioned for the M&P line for most of my pistol work now, they fit my small hands better. Yet, the Glocks are still my all time favorite.

Picked up a police trade in G23 Gen4 from aim surplus for three Benjamins and a Jackson. Minor cosmetic blemishes but came with night sights and was totally unfired. I am a happy little Glockophile! 😎

Not sure if it's because I'm getting older but I have a hard time shooting .40 cal. I have been trading all my .40's for 9mm. Back in the day I had a Gen 2 23 and really enjoyed shooting it. I too, love the Gen 4's in 9mm, maybe I should reconsider getting another 40 in Gen 4. Great video.

Sorry for the confusion. The holster in the pic is a Comp-Tac 2 O"Clock IWB holster. This is a great EDC holster for appendix carry.

I own a g23 gen3.i really like it I put a stainless steel guidrod in to help with recoil and it is much better then stock plus just ordered a tungsten guide rod for my g26 great video 📹 👍

The G23 Gen4 is a great gun. The Gen4 fits my hand just a little better than the previous generations. I love the bigger mag release (Vickers Tactical all day long). And get a 40-9 conversion barrel and now you have two guns in one.

Glock 23 Gen 4 = Awesome! I got lucky and got a used Gen 4 23 for $460. I haven't looked back. I also own m&p fullsize 40 and 9. I love em all!!!!!!

here is my two cents. I have a Glock 17 (3rd gen)and a Glock 23(4th gen). I also have a Sig Sauer P320 which is a 40 cal full size pistol. I am a big fan of Sig Sauer. my P320 40 cal shoots like a 9mm. absolutely love that firearm. that all being said I was absolutely amazed on how the Glock 23 performed. periodically my employment requires me to carry that is when I will use a full size pistol either my Glock 17 or my Sig Sauer P320. but for personal carry I like the Glock 23 easy concealed and very controllable for a 40cal. the only negative thing for me with a Glock 23 is I have large hands and periodically I get bitten by the slide. also not a big fan of the Gen 4 grip at the range after 3 or 4 mags my hands start to get chewed up but it does have good grip. overall when it counts a Glock 23 is it good firearm have on your side.

despite not being a glock fan for personal fit reasons, I enjoy seeing your video. What holster are you using?

I have shot the G27 and do like it. I prefer larger frame guns, especially the mid-sided G19 and G23. But I agree with you the G27 is one nice sidearm.

Was never a huge Glock fan but bought myself a Glock 23 Gen 4 in January 2018 and I really like it, feels good in the hand and it was a good purchase $480 out the door.

I think the dual cam spring is the major difference. Also the pebble texture give a better grip to the shooter.

Go the final three millimeters in case length and try a full-size Glock 20 with full-power ammo. The new recoil spring assembly and grip texture options available for Gen 4 Glocks help to tame the 10mm Auto's reputedly "uncontrollable" recoil.

Gen 4,I bought my 19 after the problems were resolved with the new guiderod and have 420 rounds through it,with no problems so far. Don't think anyone is reporting any issues with it. So let's keep the fingers crossed

Great video. I am in the market for a good concealed carry weapon and am having such a hard time deciding what to get. I'm torn between the xds 9 or the glock 23 gen 4 both feel great in my hand. But leaning towards the glock.

plus u can have 3 bbl's .40, .357 sig, and 9mm all out of the same platform. for range use i wouldn't EDC a conversion.
