Rules explanations/clarifications/mistakes: 1. From 09:50 to 10:28 - "Behind the Scenes footage" ... almost. I'm sleeving cards and missed cutting that out of the video. Proof of a true first play. 38 seconds of awkwardness. :D

I'm so happy you played all the scenarios! Can't wait to watch them all. Very much appreciated as I love the way you demonstrate the game. Thank you!

@kindredspiritm Thanks for watching! I did all the "tutorial" scenarios, so just 5. Plenty more game play in the box! :)

This game has some of the most interesting game mechanics I have ever seen. Jaws of the Lion is like an introduction for the big box GloomHaven, but using map books instead of tiles is a fantastic idea. I cant wait to get my hands on FrostHaven. Love your intro to the intro. lol.

Tackling the jaws of the lion! Awesome!! This game has been on my shelf of opportunity for so long xD I’m just so intimidated by it xD

@Board Game Time This version is a great way to get into this world, as the first 5 scenarios (which are the only ones I will be going thru) are basically teach as you play scenarios. They did a great job with that.

Man, you're about to sell me a copy of this damned game. I have the original, but my wife didn't dig it so we haven't played it very much. Jaws of the Lion seems to solve my main problems with the game, though (setup, etc). Watching this with interest, and with my hand over my wallet's eyes. ;)

@Jay Plays Haha ... I know that feeling! :) If it makes you feel better, I know longer have this game ... not that I didn't like it, more I played the heck out of the original version and it just didn't hold my attention when all the other games I buy keep showing up. :D I probably have close to 100 plays of Gloomhaven, so it's a great game ... but my game shelf space is getting really limited.

May I ask, do you really need to use the stickers? Can’t I just use a notepad to keep track? Either way, this playthrough made me want to buy the game :D!!!!! It actually sounded intimidating at first but watching your video completely changed the "Game" XD!!!! Thank you

It’s been a while since I played, but I’m sure good notes could do the job, and glad the video clarified some things!
@simounobrien9096 Жыл бұрын
@@DaletheCasualGamer actually it's all good. I use a notepad and someone told me the stickers are not required. They do help, but a Notepad is more versatile. Thanks for the playthrough and response :D

Been thinking about picking this up what’s your thoughts in this as a solo game dale ?
@DaletheCasualGamer3 жыл бұрын
@wes It's a well loved game by many. Lots of choices, a good levelling up system. Depending on your playstyle there are some things that could be Pros, or could be Cons. For a solo gamer, you do need to play two characters. And while it looks like your typical dungeon crawler, it is not. The story is immersive, leveling up is fun, getting treasure and unlocking other characters. I would recommend this version over the original Gloomhaven. The "book" as the map is great. The original game took some time for set-up, this book makes it easy. With all that said, I no longer have this version or the original. It's a great game, and I played the original version A LOT, with more than one group, so for me I had "played it out", but any game that I get close to 100 plays was way more than worth it. Hope that helps. :)

Oh my gosh!! Gloomhaven Is my absolute favorite game of all time ( or at least tied with Champions). I havent had the chance to watch the actual video yet (saving it for after work) so maybe you mention this in the video, but have you played the original big box? Gloomhavens biggest fault is that its rules are a bit of a mess, sometimes just from ambiguous situations and sometimes from the rules them selves not being clear or there being errata. Due to this having some "house rules"for certain things is quite common with this series. But if you have any questions, let your fans know!
@DaletheCasualGamer3 жыл бұрын
I played the original Gloomhaven A LOT with two different groups. I don't remember having any issues with the game, but we are pretty forgiving with games and if a rule needs clarified, we house rule it and move on (very casual gamers). This version streamlines the process and from the initial 5 tutorial scenarios, no issues. The book making the maps saves tons of time with setup and tear down. :)
@eddieharr3 жыл бұрын
so do you play this before the big base game?
@DaletheCasualGamer3 жыл бұрын
@eddieharr This game came out after the BIG base game, but I would recommend starting here. It's a better system to teach the game, and the book being used for the maps saves a lot of set-up and tear down time. Thanks for watching! :)

the art of some of the cards seems to be disappointing, campaign sheet and those 'stop'cards are awful.
