Simpson I didn't feel it was dramatic or sudden; Kiria continually found a home for his left hook counter either over Ristie's right or directly down onto his arm and wearing down his shoulder in the later rounds. The beginning of the end came as a result of the left hook to start the first technical knockdown, as well as the second knockdown which came from a cross counter over Ristie's left followed by another left hook over the top. Ristie being the lankier fighter had much success with his combinations in the pocket, wherein Kiria stayed to have success landing his own shots. Kiria's conditioning must be phenomenal to weather all those body shots and still have the cardio to get off those high teeps and slip enough punches to land his counters. This fight was very surprising and will serve as a continuing source of inspiration to shorter fighters whose options really are limited to overhands and straights in the pocket.
