I have been following your hacks for 1 month now, I have dropped 5kg and my skin has never been clearer, i was stressed from work and gained 13kg in 2 months, ive had the worst acne ever, big inflamed deep pimples. I tried so hard to lose the weight and be more healthy but it was so hard. I take 1-2 tbsp of ACV before every meal and I realised I don't get hungry until 5-6hrs later, i always struggled with sugar and carb cravings but now they are completely gone. walking 30min-1hr also helps me burn more calories I think. But one thing I'm really surprise is that I have so much energy! I was always so sluggish and tired but having so much energy now makes me want to move/exercise. My focus as work is also the best its been.

@@Anna12127 I just follow her hacks. Mainly drink acv before meals, eat veggies and protein first then carbs and going for a walk after carb rich meals. Before I was on a restrictive diet, counting calories, intense exercise and so obsessed with food from cravings that i would lose 2kg in a month but then gain back more. Now I just follow the hacks and eat whatever i want whenever i want, no restrictions. I think what's really helping is that it makes you feel full for hrs so you eat less, I don't constantly think about food anymore, I don't have those really bad cravings. I also have more energy, I'm more motivated to workout and feel good from that workout.

I’ve been using her tips for 3-5 months. I started eating less, feeling more energized and my mood has been so stable. I also do some random things that are in line with her suggestions: 1. Instead of a veggie starter, I eat 2 tablespoons of sauerkraut (mostly when I don’t have time, patience or veggies on hand) 2: I’ve been drinking matcha in the morning instead of coffee. 3: I’ve been taking a algae supplement for two weeks and that gave me a noticeable glow

The reason for this is because you were most likely eating large amounts of unhealthy sugars. Those are the type of sugars your acne causing bacteria loved to eat, once you eliminated them they no longer had their favorite foods to thrive off of, so it has subsided for the time being. Her explanation for acne is simply that inflammation causes it, but that does not explain why some people can eat unhealthy sugars all day long and still not develop acne. The most popular counter point would be some people have acne prone skin or bad genetics, but how can genetics in some people turn inflammation into an infection? Yes acne is bacterial related, why do you think doctors prescribe antibiotics as a first line of treatment to acne patients? Well it just has to be hormone related then. But how can a mixture of hormones in your body create a bacterial infection? This is the type of information that leads people walking around in circles without answers to their skin problems for years, like myself. The other reason your acne has subsided is because you most likely have a relatively high intake of fats whether from meat, dairy, eggs, nuts, etc. Once you eliminated the sugars your body no longer had to deal with pumping out as much insulin, struggling to work with all of the fat in your bloodstream to get glucose into your cells which took a load off your pancreas and liver so it could start supporting your lymphatic and immune system better to help fend off the bacteria causing your acne. What you are doing is one way to help in the short term but you should definitely be cautious about low carb high-fat/protein diets long term. There's a reason keto endorsers take breaks and get off of it every now and then. Not telling anyone what to do here but I hope I can get some people to do their research. With low fat + healthy carbs/sugars I have healed my cystic acne, chronic allergies, improved my vision, and removed my brain fog (who would have thought sugar helps you think better when sugar is proclaimed by science as the sole fuel of the brain)

What your skin comes in contact with is also important. I can't speak for all skin problems only the persistent redness I've had for years. It's been healing since I stopped washing my face with water straight from the tap (it's very hard where I live). I now filter and boil it. Also, please look at the products you put on your skin. Those from drugstore are mainly water based with very little of the stuff beneficial for your skin. Look for natural skincare instead. I wish I had done this a long time ago.

It’s not due to inflammation. I have CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) and my skin is clear. I had excess oil (sebum) causing blackheads on my nose with refined sugar/insulin resistance. “A relationship between acne and insulin resistance exists; hence, it is found that hyperglycemic carbohydrates and insulinotropic milk and dairy products are associated with diabetes and may promote acne pathogenesis by encouraging insulin growth factor-1 (IGF-1) signaling, which may support the link between milk products and acne [3]. Furthermore, insulin promotes androgen synthesis, resulting in excessive sebum production, a known correlate of acne severity [4]. It has also been demonstrated that a low-glycemic index diet improves acne severity as well as insulin sensitivity in young males with acne vulgaris. As a result, insulin and carbohydrate metabolism may play a role in the cause and severity of acne [5].” - Cureus Journal - The Relationship Between Acne Vulgaris and Insulin Resistance

You don't have to avoid all your sweet snacks, eat your meals as Jessie recommands in the right order (download the 10 Hacks for free in the discription of this video) and have your sweet snacks at the end of your meals as a dessert but never on an empty stomach or in between of the meals.

It’s not the inflammation. I have CIRS (chronic inflammatory response syndrome) and no acne, pimples etc. When I ate a high refined sugar diet (caused insulin resistance) I had blackheads on my nose. The insulin increases sebum (oil) production.

@glucosegoddess can you please tell us the effect of drinking water during and directly after a meal? Some people drink copious amounts and others don't drink at all during the meal because they don't want to "dilute the digestive juices." What do you recommend about this?

Dear Jessie, I frequently hear you recommend eating food in a specific order: vegetables first, followed by protein, then carbs, and finally sweets. However, in practice, it can be challenging. For instance, if I have a meal consisting of white rice and chicken, I usually eat them together. How can I follow your suggested order without leaving the plain white rice until the end and eating it by itself? Could you please provide some guidance on this? Thank you.

Are there studies suggesting that regular high glucose spikes in healthy people contribute to insulin resistance? Is there a concensus on this among practitioners? My father is diabetic and his doctors suggest reducing the number of glucose spikes a day will help keep me away from diabetes. However, many doctors and nutritionists on KZfaq seem to disagree with this, saying I should continue to consume grains and fruit, irrespective of the glucose spike because there’s no evidence that insulin spikes lead to resistance.

This is Gold stuff! But I'm curious, why don't some people get acne AT ALL, despite eating sugary stuff whenever they want? Also, is there any relation between acne and Dairy products, especially eggs?

Which plant-based foods can I use for the protein meal after the vegetables? I currently eat meat, fish, eggs or dairy products. For health reasons, I would like to reduce the animal content in my diet.

Thank you of this information ❤ I have a question though: you said that in the study there were only male participants. It would be interesting to know how female participants would react. It's sad that there is so few female representation in studies, especially because our bodies work differently because of hormones, menstruation etc. Would love your thoughts on this!

Let me add a 3rd reason ...menopause. I have had the worst acne deep seated painful ones since menopause. I rarely had acne despite oily skin. I eat super healthy, exercise daily, run, and eat just salad at night ; almost no sugar except fruits. I agree with the glucose bit though no harm in cutting out sugar
