Talking about my gluten free diet and recommending some GF products. I am on this diet due to health reasons, namely food allergies.

Adding a note here before I get comments... These are not all the foods that I eat. 😅 They are a selection of the specialist products that I eat following a gluten free and no sugar diet.

I was gluten-free for 15 years, luckily I liked rice, would usually eat it 3 times a day including for breakfast, with a delicious Heinz tomato sauce and mozzarella. Variations were rice with ted lentils and spices cooked in oil, or with brocoli, or with clarified butter. I was also a vegetarian and didn't like eggs much but towards the end started to eat smoked salmon with non-wheat bread and butter. Oh and also for breakfast at some point I had toasted G-F bread with 2 (microwaved) scrambled eggs mixed with soy milk. Delicious! I hope you get yourself some occasional avocado and other tasty and healthy things. One thing that makes everything better for me is to add a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice or apple cider vinegar and a bit of salt, maybe a bit of some nut butter, makes everything better and so much more alive! If you do like the apple cider vinegar you just have to be cautious to mix it well with the rest and not fry your throat!

Have you heard about the Irish soda bread? It's quick and easy to make, and there are gluten-free recipes available on the internet.

Good video🙂. I went to the nutritionist last year and completely changed my eating habits. It's as you described: at first you have a crave for sweets or cakes but after a while it goes away and you realise it's better to eat healthily than getting sick. I still have the occasional cake slice however (once every two weeks aprox): as a fellow chocolate lover I'm sure you'll know what it's like 😅😅

Hi Jade, try the following for a quick delicious gluten free bread roll: 1 tbsp coconut flour, 1 tsp oil, 1 egg, 1/4 tsp seasoning, 1/4 tsp baking powder. Whisk, 90 seconds in the microwave and enjoy!

When I make a trip to the market to buy food, I always have to set aside 2 hours because I read labels like I'm in a library ~ even for items that I'm not going to purchase 🤔😄

It’s important to check. Gluten free substitute foods often have long lists of ingredients/chemicals. This is the reason I avoid most of them.

i can imagine how much inconvenience you are going through. it's quite rare that such changes happen without a reason. Six years ago Miss Joddle probably didn't have the best times

Take care with sugar free products, most of the time they have some artificial sweeteners, which can be also bad for other reasons.

I've had very very similar experiences... good luck w your adaptations. We humans are not all uniform, and the "standard diet" can actually be toxic for many people.

I would recommend not taking any risks if you have any food allergies. Err on the side of caution. If you think a particular food might give you an adverse reaction, first try to find out from a nutritionalist or someone medically-qualified if eating that is safe.

Hallo Jade, I suggest Dr. Tom O'Bryan. There are lots of videos about him here in KZfaq. He has been very important for me in understanding how our gut works. Sorry for my english, I should take lessons in your channel 😅 Greetings from a brazilian guy living in Germany!

Do you get skin rushes after eating some foods? What symptoms do you get after eating some of those foods that cause you trouble? Have you checked for MCAS? When did you develop those symptoms?
@JadeJoddle
@JadeJoddle 4 ай бұрын
I don’t want to get into details here as am not looking for a cure as I tried everything possible. Only thing that works is avoiding the foods that trigger it.

@@JadeJoddle I see, I sometimes get itchy skin/feel very fatigued after eating certain foods and antihistamines help me almost immediately. I seem to have developed it in the last 2-3 years. The healthcare in the UK isn't that great when it comes to food allergies etc.
@JadeJoddle

Every type of food is enlivening or dulling to a varying degree. Foods that you are allergic to will cause worse symptoms in addition to the fatigue. In general they impair function, making it hard or impossible to study for example. That’s why I avoid them.
@MrFilip121

@@JadeJoddle exactly, I do get brain fog etc. Although my problem might be different as I need to avoid foods high in histamine in general, and antihistamines make huge difference to me but they do come with side effects. MCAS and allergies are related though.
