I should be able to see that against the higher elo's the Hippo starts to show flaws, but i can't pinpoint what it is excactly what these higher elo's do differently (apart from NOT hanging their bishops on move 4 along side the diagonal) If possible Eric, can you do a follow up video on what it is these opponents do better than the lower ranked ones?

10:11 I was happy to have seen the move. Lowkey I didn't even realize she was trapped, I just knew the knight would be safe on e6 and it would force the queen to move, allowing you to win the g pawn. I would have played it then been shocked at what I did lol

Eric ,of all the hippo speedruns, this was one was the most vicious gameplay seen by yourself. U r gobbling down the players as if they were 400 elo. I see the hippo.....i like...i try....i get screwed....the trick is to unleash the kings side fearlessly without cover.....u pawn n peice storm n they dont expect that or are not used to this kind of insanity.....i wish u could do the hippo against eric,aman, gotham chess,hikaru

@@KF1 There are videos where Eric talks about it but basically during the drama in last couple years people associated with Hikaru went and reported Chessbrah videos that used Hikaru footage for copyright infringement and the chessbrah channel received copyright strikes

@@ilkinacca9957 he was looking for a mating pattern. By pushing the pawn to h5 he is threatening an attack on the rook and restricting the king from moving anywhere. It's better to win a rook than a knight

Seeing Eric getting through by the skin of his teeth against 1700s really puts it into perspective just how easy it is to play against the hippo at higher elos. Humble non GMs realllly going to struggle with this opening.

The guy said "pisatul dracului", which Eric did not read accurately (but since he's not romanian, that's absolutely normal). The translation word by word would be "pee of the devil". In romanian, though, they're swear words that are similar in meaning with something like "lucky bastard"

Why are your's opponents so blundered? My opponens plays over 80-90% accuracy in 1200-1500 and almost not blundered. Why?

He's always making progress, always making it complicated and tactical. It's very hard to play accurately when you're under attack by such precise play

Because against someone with the same rating you're gonna play kind of accurately Probably that your moves aren't challenging enough for 1400, which is ok you're just at your rank
