At the end of Part 1, the Dorman Transfer Case Module decided to wake up and spit out some codes! Now we can tackle the real problem, which likely caused the firing of the PARTS CANNON in the first place :) Enjoy! Ivan

Thank you for taking the time to do this video. Had a 2008 Trailblazer with a C0321. Spent hours chasing my tail. Watched your video's and broke out the Fluke. Step by step.. Turned out that I had only 5 volts on the orange wire going to the encoder motor. Broke open the harness and traced it back to a very small hole in the harness that moisture got in and created corrosion. Again this was a very helpful video.

Another great video,looks like he's trying to get you all the complicated diagnostic cases. Good work on the trace!

The original diagnostician was so close to the actual problem. It's sad that so many people think that a part HAS to be replaced whenever they encounter problems with a vehicle. Now, with all the "NEW" cheap replacement parts in this Envoy, there will only likely be more problems down the road. Computer system diagnosis actually isn't that difficult with the proper wiring diagrams and understanding of how the system is supposed to work. Great job, Ivan!

Like someone else said in part 1, watching this series really makes you appreciate the old manual levers and manual hubs for 4wd engagement. My 4Runner is kind of a mixed system, with a button for 4-High, and then a shifter to select neutral or low-range in the T-case, with a vacuum based Auto Diff Disconnect setup instead of manual hubs. Thankfully never an issue with any of it 21 years on, or even the rear diff lock actuator!
@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics6 жыл бұрын
haha yeah I vote for the manual t-case. Makes you feel manly engaging the 4x4 lol
@throttlebottle59066 жыл бұрын
the problem is, not many are bright enough to think ahead, get out and lock the hubs. they know after their stuck. most folks don't have any business with 4wd or awd anything ever.

Great video Ivan. Check out TSB 02-04-21-006E No Comm with TCCM has you wake up the module and check for codes. TSBs are your friend! OK now that Part II came out I can disclose the C0550 is ECU/CCU and checksum test failed meaning Dorman module internal; failure DOA...no pulse...DNR!! Nice diagnosis on C0321 DTC. Someone set the parts cannon on continuous fire. With that corrosion I bet they had 12V on an unloaded circuit at the solenoid & module so they replaced the solenoid and then when it failed they replaced the module or vice versa. Loaded circuit test would have saved some $$ for sure but luckily they turned it over to Keith & you and BOOM fixed! Nice video Ivan!

On a BMW the curb mirror assist is only on the passenger side mirror, not on the driver side mirror. Also the mirror select adjustment switch has to be on the passenger side mirror in order for the curb assist to work.

Ivan,how much time did it take you to diagnose? Also how many hours do you charge the customer?Most of the time it takes more than the standard "Hour".The customers don't understand why it costs so much and most of the time and reluctant to pay, especially after going to someone else and paying for the wrong diagnosis. In short you make it look easy,but I am sure there is a lot of other business/customer related issues going on inn the background.Thanks
@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics6 жыл бұрын
Including the repair, this was a 2-hour charge.

My 2005 Buick Rainier V8 AWD is having intermittent AWD issues. The service AWD light will come and go, and the AWD will work at various times as well, whether or not the service light is on or not. The light will come on during my drive and AWD will stop working, then I pull over shut off the vehicle, start it and the light is gone and AWD will work for a while longer. I don't have the money right now to take it in for diagnosis. Was wondering is you or anyone in this comment section would have an idea what it could be? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Dorman? Noooo! Had a Dodge Ram with intermittent stalling that appeared to be caused by an IAC that could not maintain an idle. Repaced with Dorman IAC. The exact same fault occurred in exactly the same way. After a lot of wasted time replaced IAC with Wells unit ...truck fixed. You tell me what are the chances of Dorman's faulty new part being exactly the same as the broken Mopar part. One in thousands, I think I'll go buy a lotto ticket.
