python patcher gives me an error saying there's no client.dll file into garrysmod/bin, the bin folder inside the garrysmod folder itself doesn't even exist

Here's a tip for the CMD prompt section specifically. If you instead delete the address at the top and type CMD in the File Explorer in your Garry's Mod directory it'll directly open up the command shell too that folder Just a tad bit easier than doing the cd thing too get to the directory you need too go too.

Is there a way to completely remove the playermodel rendering? If I hide the textures, it also hides the "First-Person Body" addon. If I can't see myself in firstperson, then I would rather sacrifice my playermodel's shadow.

Ive followed all the steps but weirdly, it doesn't work, i see the RTX Remix menu and dev menu, but nothing that is about the RTX renders, SkyBox is black, i see my playermodel in first person, water is just plain white, there is any reflections and the lighting is just vanilla gmod

I'm also having the exact same issue but I the seeing your player-model in first-person you need to disconnect your Gmod to the cloud and reinstall Gmod and go to this location in your registry editor "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Source\garrysmod" and delete "garrysmod" which should fix that issue (NOTE: This will reset your game settings). But if it doesn't fix that issue then go to your steam installation folder (not "steamapps") navigate to "userdata\%SteamID%" and delete the "4000" (look up online to find your steam id). And that should fix it.")

Not sure if I did anything wrong but on flatgrass and the skybox is gone, went on the workshop map in the desc but some stuff in just invis and the map is dark

heyy, the launch script doesnt seem to want to work. it opens for a split second, does a bunch of code stuff in command prompt and then closes and nothing happens. maybe i did something wrong but i could really use some help.

if i remove the generic shader game thing i don't have another one like you do, if i remove it, it gives me a error and the game breaks and has alot of glitches and no RTX lighting but on your end you have a Dgame shader generic so when you cut the part out that you imported the apply for python something doesn't seem right because you cut that part out, and since that i see that half of the people are experiencing issues? weird...

For anyone who gets missing the client.dll file, open the patches python file in your download folder, but open it with notepad. Look for where it says "garrysmod/bin/client.dll" under "patches" and change it to "bin/cliefnt.dll". Save the python file and paste it into your RTX gmod folder and continue from there!

INFORMATION: This works with ALL lights on ALL maps and addons (For example- extented render) And all have shadows, for player model use the "player model texture" (in rendering>player model u can change view to player model) 50% off gameplay is changed decal and particles textures on maps. For better FPS found in internet how tun on the multicore (not in default settings) If u play on 2K monitor turn DLSS on ultra perf or performens, or change monitor size 1080 in settings for FPS .

I don't have any problems with multicore rendering, in my mind it just increases fps :), the only thing is that I don't render fire, and with Vfire or whatever this addon is called. And you can do a tutorial about OctoTex plz. it's just that it's not particularly clear how to download everything...@@Xenthio

2:49 Dunno if you ever figured out in the time since then, but if you type in CMD into the bar at the top it will actually open CMD in the current folder you are browsing, so no need to change directory or anything like that

I got it too work once but now my GMOD won't even "launch". It opens, it runs, but it's nowhere too be seen. I can see that it's running in task manager but GMOD just flat out isn't open. Not sure what's going wrong, I'm not getting any errors. I've reinstalled the entire game and went through the process several times now and it just flat out won't work after I got it running the first time.

@@Xenthio I figured it out, had nothing to do with either Gmod or NVIDIA Remix directly. I have a program that forces games to run borderless in case they don't natively support it and that was bugging it out. Problem solved, thanks for the tutorial! And an edit for people who use Rivatuner. Make sure you close it as GMOD will not fully boot if you have it running. It'll either boot and not show on screen, run in the background, or "run" and not even show up anywhere not even in task manager forcing you too restart your PC.

RTX remix is still working in GMOD, but it is not very stable. What can we even say about fashion. They are all buggy and crashing here, I think it's worth waiting for the release of HL2 RTX and then there will be an accurate analysis of the RTX REMIX on GMOD!

when i try to load into a map, my screen freezes right before it finishes loading, so im stuck on the grey loading screen, but my game isnt "frozen" because i can hear my character walking around, any idea how to fix this? im using an amd card btw (rx 6700xt) so maybe that's why?

Hmm, make sure shadermodel is 0 and also try the patch later in the video, also just try relaunching the game as this reminds me of a bug I used to have that was fixed just by relaunching

@@Xenthio sorry for the late response, kinda gave up and forgot i even made this comment. followed the whole tutorial again with a fresh gmod install, and im stuck at the same spot, shadermodel is definitely 0, and i tried the portal with rtx patch you mentioned, didn't make any difference, still have a grey loading screen that freezes when i finish loading in, can hear my character moving around and such still. searched around on the rtx remix discord, and found someone else with an rx 6700xt mentioned the same issue at some point with no resolution, maybe it's an amd issue?

i would like to tell everyone here in the future to NOT go down to any other dxlevel as it makes every texture uncategorized and also leaves remix clueless as to where any and all lights are in the scene, to fix remix not actually raytracing you should (counterintuitively) set the dxlevel to 70 and load up gmod and then go into a map, than close gmod and set the launch options back to dxlvel 90 and replace the rtx.conf file with the download again and launch gmod. im not sure why this works but this was the only way for me. hope you found this usefull!

There are detail textures you need to set as ignored textures

game was crashing trying to load any map tried the portal rtx fix now the game will not crash but will be stuck on the loading screen without me being able to do anything except close the window

Are you in the 32bit branch? Have you tried disabling all addons?

update that also did not work, game still crashes, i do now see the "ready to play" message before it crashes which didnt happen before

it seems when i put the rtx fix in the game does load the map but i cant see any of it because my inputs still work and i can hear gun fire but it is frozen on the loading screen

when i pick up something with the physgun the screen goes white until i drop it

Did you delete the game_shader_generic_garrysmod.dll file?

I fixed this by disabling "Draw Physgun Grab Halo" under the "Drawing" tab in the upper left when you hold "C"

The lua menu works and all, but uh... The lighting is the exact same!?

Ok so I figured out why it does that. It's because of the rtx.conf file I downloaded in the description. If I make a new one, rtx is on, but I gotta set it all up. If I install the one from the description, the lighting is the exact same but with a black skybox and some white wireframes.

another thing is, it seems the new version of garry's mod broke the RTX part of it, and Xenthio if you say it still works for you then copy your NON MODDIFIED version of GMod and then try and mod it with the RTX and see if it works, if it does, then make a updated tutorial, if it doesn't then oh well becuase your copy of garry's mod will NOT BE UPDATED becuase it's file name is changed instead of "garry's mod" so actaully try the normal install of it
