She was always pretty and a girl guys wanted by the time they were at John Adams but the makeover made her realize how drop dead she could be, and she lost who she really was. Shawn reminded her of who she really was when she needed it most. He also did everything he could to get them back together when Topanga broke up with Cory. She loves him because he loves Cory, and vice versa.

She said this on her wedding day. Lol

@@jdneely9939 they made it seem like they were done with and over when she left for Europe which is not true it was in gmw where they started trying to make it seem like that happen. Everyone loves playing the card of how unrealistic it would be for Shawn and Angel to work out but Cory and Tapanga can? It’s not like Shawn and Angela didn’t see other people, they had so much chemistry. Also, is it really that realistic for Shawn to marry his best friends, daughters best friend. The only reason I feel he is really with Katie is for Maya not because they deeply love eachother.

@@i.iconicannie7923 It could be interpreted as Shawn was done with the relationship when Angela choose her father over him. Watch the scene again from the final episodes of BMW and you'll see how crushed Shawn looks. Plus, before she left Angela said don't say goodbye because that makes it seem that they'll never see each other again. Then as soon as Angela leaves Shawn says, "Goodbye Angela". I always saw it as their relationship ended when Angela left for Europe, but I know people can have a different interpretation.

Right, I wouldn't of minded Shawn's relationship with Katy if they didn't try to play it off like a "one true love" type situation when Angela was the one who go away for Shawn. It's OK for him to move on and love again and marry Katy but don't try and dim what they had after we seen their relationship crafted so beautifully in boy meets world. They could of taken a different approach to the relationship.

I usually don't comment on KZfaq, but I feel compelled to here. The decision is genius, even if only unwittingly, because that's real life. There was a girl I was in love with once who I thought I was going to be with forever, but she broke up with me. When I asked her why did she say the things she said, like "I love you forever" or "I can tell you anything," her response was "that's just what couples say." I doubt Shawn and Angela just said those things out of nowhere, but I have no doubt people can change, even their feelings. I rooted for Angela in Boy Meets World, but I know things change. Girl Meets World reflects this reality and it makes me appreciate the show more. It also provides a chance to show another reality - adoption (similar to Shawn and Mr. Turner). I hope this helps.

@@kennykelly1452 people definitely change but change isn’t always a bad thing, as a couple you should be growing and evolving together in unison that’s why I don’t buy that “people change” excuse, all that really means is that one person is willing to put in more work toward the relationship than the other. As far as your ex I’m very sorry to hear about that but honestly if she told you the reason she said those things was because “that’s what couples say to each other” just tells me you’re better off without her. In a relationship I don’t want someone to say things to me because they’re trying to spare my feelings or because they think they should. I want you to be honest even if it’s difficult to hear because that shows that not only do you love me but you respect me as well which is just as, if not more important when it come to being in relationship. You could tell Shawn and Angela meant what they said to each other, but his whole relationship with Maya’s mom was very rushed and forced and didn’t seem to develop organically like it did with Shawn and Angela. Relationships are hard and take work but also involves having both people all in and willing to do the small things with and for each other to make it last, which is something this generation now has seemed to have lost sight of

@@vincew4297 yes relationships are work, and sometimes even through the best intentions they do not work. That's how real life is. My last girlfriend and I were on good terms and everything but we drifted apart as a couple. It happens. It happened with Shawn and Angela. I find GMW stuck with the Disney comedy more than the dramedy BMW did, but sometimes the former did what the latter did. Remember, Shawn and Angela had their downs on BMW, both had their demons, and -as real life goes - it makes sense they broke up between these two shows.

@@kennykelly1452 I think the issue is that it doesn’t ever really explain why they broke up. He says she left him, but that’s obviously not what happened. She says in GMW she left because she wasn’t ready, but that is sort of hard to believe with what happened in BMW and honestly, that’s very bizarre since she ended up searching for him after 15 years of apparently no contact to ask him if she should have kids with a guy she’s supposedly been married to for quite some time. The ending of BMW left it ambiguous, and seeing everything they went through together, as a unit, to even make their relationship work, it’s very hard to believe that they just stopped talking to each other. It’s very hard to believe that Corey, who heavily shipped them and went out of his way to be there for Angela and try to put them back together, would act like he never supported it. And Topanga who was Angela’s best friend, what happened to them? It’s all just so jarring that it feels like the viewers are clearly missing some context. It’s even hard to believe that Angela’s father wouldn’t have told her that he wanted to propose. Shawn and Angela cared about each other too much and went through so much development to just say things they never meant like that, and that is shown in their actual actions.

@@aviraes what you just described happens a lot. Often there is no rational explanation. Not just relationships, but friendships. The writers knew this, and aptly showed this.

I’m right there with you. You can love what Shawn and Angela had and still appreciate their happiness with other people. I swear it’s like all the people raised by Jacobs through BMW forgot everything he ever taught them by the time GMW happened...

Definitely not the only one. Not everyone ends up with their highschool sweetheart and that's ok, and that doesn't mean the relationship wasn't right for them in the moment, ot just means they moved on.

the thing with that is what happened in their relationship and how they progressed had nothing to do with corey and topanga, even defying their wishes at points. sure, shawn started out wanting a relationship like corey and topanga, but that’s not why he fell in love with angela and they clearly had their own relationship. in the end, they were actually nothing alike

I'm only annoyed at how they wrote Angela out in the final few episodes of BMW. She had been around for what, 4-5 years by now? she had earned the right to be in Feeny's final class dismissed moment. They still could have had Angela and Shawn break up in the 14 years between shows. But they did do Angela dirty. The GMW world writers had to try to undo the character assassination that season 7 of BMW started and it was... passable.

@@jmwloup5110 Disney plus had girl meets world before boy meets world and I didn’t know there was another show beforehand.

They literally brought the entire cast of boy meets world back to save it. Shawn and them were only supposed to do cameos here and there. They wound up being main stays. Show wasn’t nearly as good.
