The thing I like best about this channel is that it is much more 'old school' than say the fully sponsored channels where everything seems to work right all the time. This is much more realistic and takes me back to my high school days...I'm 63.😂

THE YOUNG MECHANIC DOESN'T KNOW COOL 😎. He doesn't appreciate the reliability and craftsmanship of no computer carburetors. I've driven my mechanical carburetors in all elevations without issues or rejetting anything. The three barrel carburetor is absolutely awesome 👍. Little lady, you know what's cool and keep up the good work!!! ps/ the Tempest is my favorite out of all your rides, loving that Italian inspired front end design with double stack headlights, yeah 👍

That cool old carb is a Holley 3 barrel. Edelbrock and Holley worked together for years and made some really neat stuff!! If you ever see an old Edelbrock intake marked a C3B...That intake was made for that carb you have. Chevrolet 3 barrel. Look at the divider on the intake and see the notch for the oval butterfly. The Edelbrock coffee table book is really interesting to read and it's packed full of history. Great job on the engine!!

@@GnarlySpeedShop The progress, achievements, results with this 1967 Tempest, 6.0 L, 4L80 swap is Grand !! ALL "Y'ALL 'Liv'-Olivia, Danny, Andrew, including Matt [Tennessee verbiage - though am not from there (actually Hoosier born, Ohioan early life, Md-Washingtonian, then SoCAL-LA for 10.5 yrs -> onward, abroad for 30+ yrs)] are Grand doing Great Much Success !! 😆 All of the steps, challenges, issues, problems, solutions shown in this video compilation are very good, well presented, shown [obviously missing much of the physical form modifications to the transmission tunnel area via the 'hammer' as stated, with no cutting]. Then the first star up, ignition success is also grand to see, even with the minor fuel rail leak, then the next full successful start. This is a clear, obvious, certain testament to the experience, expertise, care, precision, accuracy, exactness, methods within the process You All use and are involved with. 🤓 The recorded expression with 'Liv'-Olivia are clearly real, genuine, sincere, meaningful, well captured too. ☺ Am certainly looking forward to the next posted video with this 1967 Tempest, after Olivia-'Liv' returns in about 3 weeks, along with certainly the videos with the progress of the AWD Chevelle too !!😄 Q: Why did You decide to put petroleum oil in this new built 6.0 L engine to begin with ? 🤔 Is this just for the 'break-in' period ? What about the ATF for the 4L80 too ? 🧐 Certainly the best synthetics from Amsoil are worthy for these components ?!🤨 Besides my parents' vehicles, 1965 Corvair, 1968 Bel Air, 1973 Dart Swinger, 1975 Vega, the first vehicle which my buddy-friend asked me to assist with him was with his 1965 Tempest [White w/blue interior], 326 c.i., then 1969 Charger, 440 Magnum [rode with him @150+ MPH - pinned the speedometer]. Then my own 1973 Opel Manta, 1974 Celica ST & GT, 1978 Corolla Liftback, [very short term 1970 VW Bus], later wife's 1980 Corolla, bought Our best vehicle, 1979 MB 280E, only FI [mechanical] [first vehicle using synthetic (Freedom), did not yet know of Amsoil], 1976 Cosmo/RX-4 [13B] (amazing torque/power curve !) - all manuel, except MB. 😏 All The Best and Much Success in Your Quest, Health, Happiness and Well Being. 😊 Sincerely ☺

@@newtonfirefly3584 thank you SO much for always watching. :) I love reading comments like these because it shows people are really watching. I added Amsoil ATF to the transmission and Oreilly brand conventional just for the break-in period! I have more Amsoil signature series for when we start driving the car. 👍 Also that’s a nice collection of vehicles you shared!

@@GnarlySpeedShop Olivia-'Liv', thank You much for taking Your precious time to read and reply to the comments along with recording, editing, sharing Your projects, work, expressions, emotions which are special and brings others to sense, even feel more involved with Your project, challenges, issues, success, achievements too. It make sense and am glad that You decided to at least put the Amsoil ATF in the 4L80, perhaps in the rear differential and other lubrication too. Figured You might use the petroleum oil for 'break-in' then switch to Amsoil Signature. My experiences with those various vehicles were mostly not very special, though helpful for me with, within during my development within mechanics, mechanical added tomy IE, skills within wood and metal working, fabrication tools, machines, assembly, development, design, etc. along electrical, electronics, physics chemistry, materials, engineering, advanced mathematics, etc. My father [O"H] started me with the family vehicles He began teaching me with many things since i was a small boy from gardening, lawn, yard care to other aspects within the home building, fabricating a large custom, wooden closet in the basement, and basic maintenance with the family vehicles mentioned. The two which my biddy asked me to be involved with were certainly somewhat special, but the work we did was not very extensive. Never opened the engine, changed any internals nor swapping as You All do and have desired to also be involve with. Overseas, in Our location, abroad now for 30 years, there is not such access to accomplish much more than maintenance, which i have assisted some others, as previously along with my personal vehicles. By my 16th birthday, in 1975, that 1965 Corvair had 100k+ miles with oil leaks, exhaust leaks into the heating, then the tie rods, ends broke, such my father decided it was time to get another vehicle [the Vega - cheap and small for commuting to this clothing store]. Already Corvairs were known to be useful for modifications, performance along with their advanced, smooth, clean body lines which GM used in theri later bodys from 1967, including the Gen 1 Camaro, Firebird, then more in the others through many into the 1970's, as Chrysler & Ford did also. My desire was to fix that Corvair, but my mother was so adamant with its removal there was no possibility my father would allow me and there was not place for me to put it to work on either, perhaps by a friend or such. The later purchase of the 1976 Cosmo.RX-4 was specific for the 13B Wankel Mazda rotary after a fellow workmate, technician encouraged me about the simplicity with a rebuild of these engines as he did with a RX-3 12A he bought, rebuilt and rode with him in it. That purchase had a rebuilt 13B, but quickly had some problems, thus was not done very well. Still a very unique engine, torque/power, driving experience, which became my commuter vehicle too. Great to drive in traffic, since the engine handles a very large range of RPM and performs better with higher revolutions. AS for the best overall vehicle the MB, was certainly with every aspect of safety, reliability, durability, driving, handling, road car, [drove SF-LA, Sunday night on I-5, within a truck convoy, pushe to cruise 90 MPH (1988) with just a 2.8 L straight six & mechanical fuel injection, 4 wheel disk brakes (bought form original owner, all records, 125K miles from Pasadena (not a 'little old lady'] Actually have some very innovative ideas with custom vehicles which would be fantastic projects, but my location prevent any involvement. This AWD Chevelle is certainly a unique idea, along with the NASCAR 'look' is among a very creative idea which Danny along with Andrew figured are involved with along with You. Thus this project is very enjoyable to view, follow, at least from a distance. Much Success in Your travels back to Canada and toward Your USA immigration. It seems that Danny and Andrew have also been revived with You to be involved more in new projects too. All The Best and Much Success in Your Quest, Health, Happiness and Well Being. 😄Sincerely ☺

Wow I had the same dent in my 68 impala. I had huge Drive ability problem even after changing all my front end suspension. Had to get a new frame out of a 67 wagon. After pulling the bad one out the frame was twisted to were it was rocking from the front right corner to the rear left corner sitting on a flat surface. Hopefully that’s not your case but it was pretty easy to swap the frame out and it was nice because at the same time I was able to paint the new used frame and add new body bushings. The Cost 12 years ago was $900.00 for the frame. good luck and be safe.
