Hey, ladies!
This is just a short update about my gray hair transition. I can't believe I'm at the 9-month mark now!
I'm often asked what products I use on my hair. For the most part, I use Joico Blue Shampoo once a week (to help remove the brassiness from my fading dye). The other day that I shampoo, I use Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo to help fade my dye. I follow each of these shampoos up with Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrator, as both of the shampoos can be drying.

I've just started growing my get out about 3 months ago. My natural color is brunette. I just got so tired of dying my hair every 3 weeks, and the chemicals that can't be good for you. I'm not fighting nature anymore and I'm excited to go natural and turn a new chapter in life.

You look very pretty and your hair looks so shiny . The makeup that you’re wearing is so flattering too . I’m doing the transition the same way myself. I chopped my hair to do it . I kinda wish that I had kept it at your length. But oh well my hair grows fast and guys younger than me still flirt with me . All my coworkers give me support. I’m surprised because I work in a spa and salon environment. Anyway thx for sharing your inspirational journey. It’s fun seeing the change reveal its self.

I agree going cold turkey is the best. I have decided to do the same 4 months ago. It's funny because when I decided to go gray, my hair has been growing so fast, it ridiculous. Your hair is beautiful and thanks for encouragement.

Thanks! Do you also find that your hair is less frizzy? My dyed hair always looked smooth and shiny for the first week, and then I would have to battle the frizz until the next dye. My gray hair is really shiny and smooth on its own. What an unexpected result!

You have a lovely shade of gray. Eight months in, I don't mind the orange at all with my layered bob. It doesn't look that bad with the gray.

I am right there with you regarding cutting hair short. I do not look good with short hair so I am going cold turkey also. Its fun to see how it grows in! I’m only 3 months in but am so excited to be free of dye!!

Katie Goes Platinum it does!! The demarcation line doesn’t bother me either, but I am a bit concerned about the reaction from my peers in a Corporate setting. I imagine I will be keeping it pulled back after a certain point. How I really feel....At the end of the day, it’s just hair!

That's right that's how you do it your way.everyone's different we must respect one another and let people do as they wish when it comes to personal decicions it's Personal. Before you know the process will be done and over with.

Nice transition! Mine is bright auburn red henna-dyed ends with newly sprouting WHITE roots. Sad, but going cold turkey. (Was a natural very light blonde before starting to color) Scarves, hats and beanies will be my constant companions for quite a while. Wish me luck. Love your sweet little Pug!

I used henna dye for years too. I'm four months in without going thru that 3 hour process of coloring it.

Yes, I'm dealing with that now, especially frizz around my hairline. I would like for it to be smoother hopefully when my gray fills around my hairline it's not as frizzy.

You are looking lovely. Have you tried any updos? I reckon some 'princess platted crown' (don't know the name of it) would look gorgeous on you. For me, I couldn't face cold turkey and they did bleach and then a blend dye, know it is orangey medium brown with the root, my sides are very white, salt and pepprr at the top. I am waiting till January for highlights and low lights and hopefully that'll give it a more uniform look I can have for a while. My hair also grows fast but I bought some biotin tablets to try and give it a boost, I'm an impacient person...only that I forget to take them most days! I can't wait to see more vids! x

You didn’t use any touchup powder for the skunk stripe? That’s what I’m considering doing while I let it go Greg.

No, just because it would have taken SO much root touch-up powder I would have gone broke from trying to cover it. But you surely can, if you prefer! Some people also use root sprays by L’Oréal and like them.

Anybody with very white sides and 50/50 black & white at the top? Not sure if highlight/lowlights (somehow) or maybe just let it go grombre. At the moment I've got about and inch and a half of natural and the rest is a brassy light/medium brown. Any ideas/pics/links will be most welcome. x
